One video says sales are slowing and the last one said they are still increasing and several automakers are setting EV sales records.

Not to mention the fire risk.
No way I'm charging that in my garage while I'm sleeping.

We recently purchased a new 2024 Tesla Model Y for $39k. We charge it at home on DIY solar and drive it for FREE! Never going back to ICE.

EV'S sales lower than expected?? What a shocker😅 Everyone I know is finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the kitchen table and keep a roof over their heads/lights on aka basic necessities, with the sharp rise in homeowners/renters and auto insurance rates over the last two and a half years, and what have you. For virtually all working class families going out and buying a new $60k vehicle and adding basically another mortgage payment for up to 84 months is out of the question.

Imagine a=owning a vehicle that gets half the driving range in winter. Imagine owning a vehicle that will not operate once the temps hit -4 F. Imagine having to make a choice between using your heater or air conditioner or making it to the next charging station. Imagine coming home from a long day at work, and suddenly have to evacuate for some reason, but you can't because you need 8 hours to charge your vehicle. SMH. It is the absolute height of idiocy to think that EVs are a good replacement...even when not discussing the simple truth that our infrastructure cannot support EVs.

My first car had a broken alternator I had to save up for. But I was really keen to drive it. So I had to charge the battery every time I got home, watch the voltage all the time, only go where I could find an outlet, ration accessories. I'm already familiar with the ev 'experience'!

because they are more expensive to obtain, maintain, and useless

They actually cost much less to maintain. We have 59k miles on ours and it's needed zero repairs and under $100 in maintenance. Then it costs much less to drive than buying gas plus we never have to stop. I use to have to buy gas twice a week in our Subaru so that was like 6 or 8 hours a year buying gas.
