LOL, I've been there, too lazy to get from under the vehicle so I struggle!! I've been looking for a set of impact swivels, and I see you have the Pittsburgh brand, how are they?
Astral Auto Repairs the Pittsburgh brand swivel sockets are great. they fit the anvil of the impact wrench great and they have stood up to alot of torque and abuse over the past year since ive got them. The only downside is the numbers can be hard to see, and the set skips sizes
nice job, you make it look easy. my 98 ZJ has a fairly strong vibration when slowing down to about 5 mph. if I shift into neutral, the vibration stops. when I shift back to drive, it often dies out. have been wondering if its the transmission mount.
+Steve Walls get down there with a prybar and check for excessive slop in the rubber. If that transmission mount has never been replaced I would get that done for preventative maintenance. I would check the u-joints on the driveshaft as well.
@@stevewalls3365 If it is the torque converter clutch (and it looks like it is), then yes, it is a difficult repair. You need to pull the transmission and replace the torque converter, which is right between the transmission and engine... I just did it, including transmission rebuild. Just pulling the tranny is like 3-5 hours job, putting it back another 5 hours. If you don't know what you are doing, I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself.
BG, I have been chasing a problem with a shake in my 97 grand Cherokee tsi 5.2 (4x4 all the time). I replaced all rotors and pads, new tie rods, track bar, drag link, shocks. Basically it ONLY shakes under acceleration, then rides smooth as SOON as I let off the gas. No shake at idle. No shake when braking. No grinding noises. Hopefully you can guide me in the right direction on what it could be!? I'm stumped and not the best mechanic, hate to keep throwing parts at it without knowing what part is the culprit. Low on funds and the shops around me charge 100/hr. Any ideas brotha??
My brother, I have a 6 Grand Cherokee, and think I have issues with my tran mount, when driving I can feel the vibration behind the console on the floor, no issues with power, just that loud noise. I'm 1000 miles away from my mechanic, do you think I can make it back to him safely? I appreciate it if you could get at me asap, cuz I'm gonna be leaving in a fer days. Thank you!!
BG, When ever I look for a vid. to do work on my 97 ZJ your vids. are always there to help. I'm doing Trans. Mount soon but I only have 1 problem with your vid. I'm a WHITE DUDE, don't have 12 inches ? What do I do BG ? I do have the swivel though, LMAO. Great vid as always, you even tell the size needed & the freakin torque, WHAT IN THE HELL MORE DO YOU WANT FROM A MECHANICS VID. ? ALWAYS LOOK AT YOUR VIDS. FIRST BRO. ALWAYS, THANKS BG. Also DAMN YOUR LIKE BATMAN WITH ALL THOSE FANCY TOOLS & GADGETS, CONGRADULATIONS ON THAT, I'M GETTING THERE THOUGH, I'M MORE LIKE ROBIN NOT BATMAN AT THIS STAGE.
BARRICADE GARAGE ok, yea when I look on autozone based on my vehicle and trim “94 Limited 5.2” it shows me the other style. Crawled under and sure enough it was the other style
Do you have a brand recommendation for the motor mounts and the transmission mount? I tried to order the MOPAR parts you linked in the engine mount video, but they are discontinued. Any idea if there's a website that would still have them?
I've been a Honda guy since ive been driving.
Recently picked up a zj that needs work.
I appreciate your videos sir! Tons of help.
Same

Yea, i started out with 'em but soon moved to Sunex because of the completeness, value & cases. Try CPO outlets & tooltopia.com out for awesome deals.
Me gustan tus videos amigo pero tengo una pregunta nos podrías mostrar donde va el filtro del aire acondicionado de la Jeep gran Cherokee 5.2V8/1998
You explain it all so well, THANK YOU SIR!!! Very nice video and Very Nice Work!!! God Bless You Too. OIL PAN HELP!!! omg
My zj got the death wobble as soon as I installed the new trans mount 😂😂

Steve Walls it sounds like your TCC is locking up on you, that's what is making your rig stall. TCC = TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH.
nowr2run I will check that out, thanks. is that a difficult repair?

František Soumar thanks. that's outside my pay grade.
Nice work
BabyFace Motorsports thanks, im covering for you today too
Well done
duuuude this vid is perfect!
Do you think it’s easier to line everything up if you replace the trans mount first or the motor mounts?
I see you bypassed your compressor with a shorter belt and that's what I did on mine also because my air conditioning doesn't work anyway.

what brand mount ? any issues since install? I need to do same thing.
Like your video. I am get ready to replace the front seal on the drive shaft (98 Jeep Cherokee) Which they have more videos like your
The inner axle seal?
Mine is a 94 5.2 but has the other style transmission mount. So I guess not all 5.2 have this style
Allen Rubin my guess would be its different for '93-95 because I have a '96 & '97, different trims but both with the 5.2 and use the same style mount
BARRICADE GARAGE ok, yea when I look on autozone based on my vehicle and trim “94 Limited 5.2” it shows me the other style. Crawled under and sure enough it was the other style
I performed this repair today, unfortunately my power tools were too big and said f it and just used hand tools.
Is the transmission mount on the 5.2l the same as the 4.0l?
No

No I cant even find them any more myself. If they had Moog as a substitute I would get those
I just got some on rockauto
👍👍👍👍
😎💪🙏
I didn't see a torque wrench for that 48 foot lbs
+Domenick Palmiotto thats because you dont need to
