Yes! She is being so loving to her little ones. It is amazing to watch mother nature work through instinct as these mom dog's have no training to be moms and yet they do it so well!
Thanks for sharing. You set the Gold standard for how to help mom dogs and care for their puppies safely and sanitarily. I too have had pets. Prefer to have their kittens or puppies on my bed. It’s like “ hey mom somethings going on. Can you help me or stay with me?”

Five! When I saw Dazzle's big belly in the last video, I guessed 5. Then she got her x-ray, and I thought, "Maybe 5." Watching this video this morning, I watched the first 4 and had just started to admit I was wrong. I turned away from my screen to get a cup of coffee when I heard Shawn say there was a surprise. Thanks for sharing Shawn! This was really interesting and you make it appear so easy, but I know it is not! What dedication and passion you have to be up at all hours of the early morning preparing and helping your Momma Schnauzers to afford them the most ideal, peaceful and safe puppy birth as possible! The 5th chocolate puppy was a huge surprise for sure, I think the veterinarian (Dr. Geller, QAH) in your video a few days ago said there my be some calcification that he saw in the X-ray that was indicative of a possible head of a 5th puppy. He's was right! Congratulations. Looks like momma Dazzle and pups are doing fine! No rest for the weary right....Get some rest anyway!! LOL ! BTW - What does Jim do, when this is all transpiring, is he up anyway assisting with the other dogs?
You are right! I need a nap now! 😂 What does Jim do? 😂😭😂 Last night he was sleeping in the other room with our 3 other dogs. He is working in NY today so he had to get up early to get there. Fortunately Deven was here this morning and afternoon which is a big help! I'm going to go to bed early for sure! Thank you Jim

What is mommy eating for her post birth meal?
Dazzle had Beef Liver Frittata ! I ground 6 eggs in the blender and then ground beef liver with that. I poured it into a pan to do a frittata and she devoured it! I think in this video she wanted more so I gave her the daily stew too. I will keep feeding her all day - every two hours - as long as she wants to eat I'm happy to have her getting great nutrition. I am also feeding the puppies that are 3 ounces every two hours with the Nurture Mate Colostrum to ensure they are getting enough - I weigh them every two ours also... WHEW !! I am ready for a good night sleep 😂
@svccschnauzers that sounds like a great plan. My schnauzer has acquired some allergies to something. I feed grain free salmon & sweet potato now but she's still licking her paws. I guess blood testing is protocol. Love your videos & your darling pups.
My friend, havanese breeder, gives new moms plain ice cream, to boost their calcium levels.
