Today we we take a look at a brand new fan-made tool that lets you calculate your Animal Crossing New Horizons Islands weather pattern, and predict the weather.
The "MeteoNook" tool enables Animal Crossing players to predict their weather, in turn allowing you to know the exact dates and times in-game weather events such as Rainbows and Meteor Showers occur.
Knowing this information makes it so much easier to plan Animal Crossing New Horizons Meteor Shower/Star Fragment parties and, increases the chances of finding the Animal Crossing New Horizons special character Celeste on your Island.
It's a great tool, works extremely accurately and helps find more Star Fragments. What's not to like? 🤩

During the morning news they should have a weekly weather forecast done by Tom or a random island villager.
A report of that day's weather forecast would be nice at least instead of the too frequent nothing to report and rambling about a pretend TV show or whatever. I don't even watch TV... -.-'
If you put a tv in one of your houses, there is a weather forecast for each day on tv. I saw this in a "hidden details" video somewhere here on youtube. Try searching for that to get more details. :)

I completely missed the Taurus and Gemini Star season because I never had a meteor shower that Isabelle announced and I was so sad. This is going to be a LIFESAVING tool.
She only announces it when the shower is a rare "heavy" one.
Most of them are just "normal" and kinda show up whenever,
with the only hint being that Celeste is there at night.
(Granted she'll only appear once in a week, so most are just up to luck.)
I'm aware that Isabelle only announces the heavy showers. I just never play at night unless I know to.

My tips for finding the seed:
* The best time to check the weather is at the beginning of the hour. The game gradually changes the weather from the current hour to the next hour, so it can be unclear what the exact weather is supposed to be at the half-hour mark.
* If you're unsure at all of the weather, just put in whether it's raining or not. The tool can't handle any bad data, and honestly it seems like knowing whether it's raining or not is more important than knowing the exact pattern anyways.
* Try to catch meteor showers when possible. I was able to nail down my seed with a few days of weather data plus a single meteor shower. It may take a couple of showers if you're not able to stay up late, but they can really help narrow down the results.
* Due to their rarity, special weather patterns like rainbows and auroras can help nail down the seed pretty quickly from what I've heard, although I personally didn't have any when getting my seed.
Replying just to confirm and back up these tips as someone who’s been using MeteoNook since Ninji launched it.
If you’re not completely sure about the cloud layer, enter “Unsure (no rain/snow)” or “Unsure (rain/snow)”.
And if you didn’t personally witness a meteor shower/rainbow/aurora, use “no data or not sure” under “Special Patterns” because you may have just missed it. (Once I had my forecast, I found I’d missed a double rainbow by just a couple days and there have been several light meteor showers I didn’t see because I wasn’t playing at that time.)
It may take more data points to find your seed this way, but it’s better to say “not sure” than to enter inaccurate information. Your seed can still be found and MeteoNook is so extremely useful, the setup is worth it. Good luck!
All of this! I did 2 mine and my daughters she had taken a picture of a double rainbow at one point so hers was easier to get to, I redid mine 2 times. It helped me to take 2 or 3 days hour by hour out of the seven, some I only did once a day others I did a couple of times. It is so worth it though so I know when to stay up (or time travel!)

Rick Roll Rizal: No, your seed doesn’t change unless you completely start the island over, so is not affected by time travel.
My friend and I got our patterns, and the predicted meteor showers are accurate to the minute and second! I used to stare at the sky waiting for meteors, I don't mind being spoiled a little
hi!! can you tell me how many days of data you put in and the amount of hours? also whether you put in straight days of data or skipped days? I'm trouble finding mine. thanks!!
@@enlovlei We definitely had a lot of trouble, especially when we put in a lot of ordinary events (sun or rain). We focused on the big events - rainbows and previous Celeste sightings and meteor showers and meteor times to the minute. We each have screenshots of about 4-5 of these days (and around 2-3 screenshots of exact meteor minutes per meteor day). Only when there are too many seeds remaining do we input more ordinary events, and we always put Unsure (not raining/snowing), and Unsure (rain/snow), since it's very easy to mistake cloud patterns. I'm pretty sure the amount of days we had inputs in is between 10 to 20. I also made a few mistakes with the 24 clock, and the app does not forgive mistakes at all. I thought they didn't have a seed for my friend until I realized I put in 10pm as 20:00 in one of the days, when it should be 22! We got his seed shortly after!
Edit: oh yes, we definitely skipped a lot of days!
You only need data from one meteor shower event so just sit and stare at the sky for about 2-3 hours.
That is more than enough data to give you the correct seed but the times that the stars appeared have to be exact.
@@guesstimation I'm having so much trouble, I have all my ordinary days set to unsure, --- or ---- and did some large events, but it still comes up as nothing! I'm really struggling, have any other tips?

The aurora will only appear during the winter season so if your island is in the southern hemisphere, then you have a chance to see it. I have yet to see them as it's usually cloudy and snowing on my island. I also haven't seen a rainbow either 😕

Does something happen besides the rainbow itself? I took a picture of it but was I supposed to make a wish? I’ve also never had a meteor shower, too-this video was super helpful!!!
I remember always seeing a rainbow once a month or once in two months in New Leaf. I’ve yet to see one in New Horizons.

Omg! After several attempts, I finally found my “seed”! I inputed all the days which I found Celeste for May, June, and July, and put in unknown for fine vs heavy showers, and it narrowed it down to 2 seeds. I then cross referenced it to some rainy days I had recorded, and found the correct seed for my island. This tool will definitely be so helpful!!

@@emijade2174 I as well. I already tried it like five times, but even though I put every information in that I have, it is telling me that there is no seed for me. I think I'm going to try it one more time, and if it's still not going to work for me, I will just do it like normal.
I'm also struggling. I might have to travel back in time. From the beginning of the week maybe and do other days cause the days I've had have heavy rain for so many hours that the site just says it cant find anything.

I finally got mine. I started on a monday and made sure there were no events. I put in the times starting from 1pm to 7pm everyday until it found my seed. I also put in the days I knew Celeste was on my island but didn't put any extra info. If I wasn't 100% sure if it was cloudy or rain clouds I always put unknown.
I swear, I need this. I don't think there was one the entire month for me. I literally had to trade for my Gemini fragments because of it. It rains a lot on my island and most clear nights don't drop stars.
Ooh, I need to try this. In all my years playing animal crossing I’ve never managed to catch the Aurora Borealis, or a rainbow, and only a thunderstorm once. I’d like to catch more thunderstorms, as I love them, and it’d be pretty cool to see a rainbow and the northern lights for the first time too.

@@jenrrr Me too! I saw the one at the Atlanta Aquarium inside the giant aquarium-tunnel (you walk through the giant aquarium). The whale shark swam right above our heads! I bought a whale shark plush that day about 8 years ago and still have and cherish it

This is so handy! I’ll have to use the website sometime! It’s great that Ninji and other data-miners have found so much info, but it does seem that Celeste and Redd are still rather unpredictable. When I had a large meteor shower last month (the type announced by Isabelle in the daily announcements), Celeste didn’t show up 🙁. I searched my entire island, but she wasn’t anywhere to be found. Heavy and light showers dont guarantee a visit from celeste and vice versa. Celeste is a weekly npc visitor that is handled by a different event. The one that selects which npc will visit you during the week.

Use unsure-rain and unsure-no rain for everything. It’ll get you through it faster.
Same. It just will not work for me. I have a LOT of data. I took screenshots for weeks on the hour looking up at the sky. I entered them all in as best I could, and it told me there was an error. I assumed I had misidentified some weather, so I decided I'll just use the "Unsure/Not raining" and "Unsure/Raining" options, because it's impossible to get those wrong. It gave me a seed that is absolutely wrong. I just don't get it.

I heard about this a week or two again but finally took the time to try it today. It took me about an hour but was pretty easy comparing with the weather options graphic on the site. I just set the clock to noon, did a weather observation, and then moved to the next day. After about 12 days I did a seed search after each new piece of data. I had to enter 17 days of data to get my unique seed. One of the days was a double rainbow, woot!
Once I was talking to Shari, and she said "... Stargazing is gonna be good tonight" or something like that. For some reason, I thought it meant a meteor shower...? XD
It is the most amazing tool! I spent one day time traveling within the same week to get my data for the tool. It is awesome to know when there will be shooting stars!
I heard of MeteoNook earlier and thought it would be too annoying to use, but I realized how easy it was to find your seed just sifting through screenshots and videos. I wouldn't have thought of that without this video. Thank you!
This tool is very helpful. I got my hands on it about a few weeks ago and got my seed very quickly. Since then I’ve been able to look at my weather each day and work around that. For example, me seeing rain on a particular day will let me know I don’t have to water my flowers that day. I also know that I have a heavy meteor shower on the 25th of this month.

This does work I just finish getting my seed. I suggest anyone who’s trying this to put in enough inputs a day until it gives you one possible pattern.
Isabel Nina Soriano For me I put in 6 days in a row. Each day I input about 5-7 times. Try searching for your seed after a few days and it will tell you if it needs more info.
One thing I suggest is if you’re having a hard time telling the difference within the weather, pay close attention to the “possible pattern” area. If you have enough info for two patterns and you put in a wrong one it will tell you you did something wrong.
This only took me 2 weeks to find my seed and I didn’t enter any special event info. I only recorded the weather type for a few hours every day. Also, once you enter enough hourly data to have a single weather pattern, you don’t need to enter any more for that day

STAR! Thunderstorms are my favorite irl and in game and one is rolling into town as i'm typing! I'm SO excited about this info tbh, like i'm kind of a weather nut anyways and now I can pretend my island has a little personal weather station setup

It definitely takes some getting used to. I would focus on only including data you know for sure is accurate. Sometimes clear/cloudy days can be confusing because they blend together as they change. Good luck

This is something that I will use. I have missed many metro showers and have been frustrated because I don’t have enough of a certain fragment to make some of the recipes.
I used this a week ago to find my seed... It just so happens that I meticulously document stuff via screenshots and video, so between using that for weather on specific days, and knowing specific meteor timings from one heavy meteor shower, I quickly pinned down the seed. I just used it tonight to track the times for a light meteor shower... It's so bananas how it has the spawn times to the second.
Dunno if I'll use it, but good to know it's there.
ATM I'm fine with the randomness, but once I'll have less time to play, knowing the meteor shower times might be super helpful.

Meteor, We live in Florida and it’s the rainy Hurricane season now and since I got the game for Mother’s Day my Island pretty much mimics our Florida weather lol 😂. I have seen very few days without rain. Usually it’s a steady rain or torrential rain with thunderstorms and lightning 🌩. It’s a pretty depressing Island actually, at least my neighbors are fun 👍. I've been tracking meteor showers and Celeste visits since July and have finally added this into the app/tool. It could determine the weather seed from that info. Now I will check during the remainder of the month if the weather checks out.

That is way over my head! How long do you have to stare at the sky to see a shower? Does it matter what time? Do you look over the ocean? or over the back of the island? This is my first AC game and I've been playing since June 2. Never seen a meteor before. Weather!!
The tool works perfectly! 100% accurate so far :)
I found my seed with one double rainbow and one meteor shower. For the meteor shower, I logged 10 separate times (on the minute, didn’t bother with the seconds because it was too hard to measure) when they appeared. It was easy to log because they were each one minute apart except for the last star, which came after a 9 minute gap.
I like surprises usually, but I’ve played almost every day for 3 mos and only caught one meteor shower & Celeste twice, so this is just a positive for me.

Star, star, star! This makes me so happy! I have missed so many meteors because I’m an early to bed person. Can’t wait to get it. Update: I found my weather and it is amazing.
I did this the other day based off 2 days of real time, old screen shots, and chat logs.
No time travel and after a few days I now know when every star will come
It took me several days to get the correct seed in meteonook due to errors.
My suggestion is to ONLY input weather events that are not ambiguous. For instance, always put in rainbows and meteor showers, clear hours and rain or lightning. Sunny with heavy cloud coverage is too similar to cloudy that it can throw off your results.

'WEATHER' This is mind blowing, it is super useful because I know when I defintely need to log in and play in the evening. My other half hasn't seen a meteor shower annoucment since the beginning of the game :/ My favourite weather is usually stormy, but right now I prefer the no rain days because I'm hybrid farming and I feel like rain makes a bunch of flowers spawn that I don't want - from singles

I love that this is available... but i'd rather be surprised. I saw my first thunderstorm the other day!! It was around noon, I was landscaping and the first lightning flash made me think the screen was going out 😆 then.. THUNDER!! 😄😄 SO COOL!

I did this with just the data from one single light meteor shower. I knew a date when I had one as I had a friend come over for Celeste so that was a good start. I time traveled to that time and put in about 2 hours of meteor times. The 5 stars all fall at the same minute. Use the tool to fill in the gaps (make sure you didn't miss any times) and you should be able to generate your seed with just that data. Yes, it spoils for me when the upcoming meteor showers will be but it lets me not worry about them, either.
I'll probably use the tool fairly soon.
I restarted my island and im TT'ing to get back to the current date as i keep progressing. So i should be able to insert data fairly quickly
I'd been inputting data to mine for a couple of days, wondering whether it was worth the effort. Then I decided to do as you suggested and pull the micro SD card to check my screencaps. I looked for obvious, distinctive weather events. In my case it was two thunderstorms from two different months, and that was enough data to finally find my seed. According to my seed, I was supposed to have a heavy meteor shower last night, but according to Isabelle there was only one event yesterday: a player birthday. My seed said 7:07pm would be the first meteor of the shower... and it happened exactly then! I was thrilled! If not for this tool, I would have missed out on another shower and DIY; for some reason Celeste finds odd, dark corners to stand in. Now I know which nights will have later, lighter showers, and I'll scour my island for her random appearance on those nights to at least get my DIY. So glad I did this, and 100% worth the effort! With this tool, I learned that my island will not see a heavy meteor shower for 4 months in the row, September through December. Meanwhile January 2-4 of this year was busy, lol. January 2 saw a heavy meteor shower, January 3 saw a light meteor shower, and finally January 4 saw the auroras.
i think this is great and i love it but every time i try it and put in all of the correct weather i know but it always comes up wrong when i go to the meteor showers
I’m very confused with my game. I’ve had two large meteor showers in the last week. Both have been announced by Isabel, but Celeste is never in my town on the big meteor shower days. I search my entire town and she’s nowhere to be found. I saw her at the beginning of the game and then never again since.
