im surprised to see people not talking about how atypical the introduction of chainsaw man is in comparison to other shonen series - we start off the episode with a baron, dull and melancholy feel and finish with a crazy, messy fight scene and it really sets the tone for the rest of the series - as in the manga there are so many depressing and sad scenes juxtaposing the chaotic and violent fights
I love denji so much! I've been trying to get so many people to read the manga just so I can talk about this series with someone and now that the anime is here I can finally watch reactions TT so happy
What I love about this damn story is that it manages to be both exactly what you think AND STILL completely pull the rug out from under you over and over again.
At the first episode you can already tell the difference between Denji and most other shonen protagonists. Idk what’s gonna be anime of the year, but CSM is definitely up there 🔥
With the current line up it’ll most likely be csm or urusei yatsura due to sheer popularity. If you’re not aware of urusei yatsura, the fact that they’re getting a reboot is enough to make it aoty

The comparison to Denji and a Dog is one of the big themes in the series, it’s sad and happy at the same time, heartbreaking and incredible this show is an absolute gem already, so glad your watching! 🪚🪚🔥🔥🙏🙏

Animating chainsaw man in 2D would be a fucking nightmare. Imma be fine with the cg here as it’s not bad for what I’m shown and I think that the animators either way had one hell of a time to animate everything. I mean, crunching your employes sadly isn’t something uncommon at mappa, so I’m gonna praise it for what it is
(sorry for my bad english) Nah. They had one of the best production times with CSM. All of their projects have different teams. Mappa hire a lot of freelancers on their show too. The CGI was Really good. It did Really matched with The 2d Really well. I Don't think it would look better in 2d. Because then they had to animate every frame when The chainsaw on his Head and on his hands moves. It's like a nightmare
About the CG, it seems that it may just be a first episode thing or a director thing. Nakayama, who storyboarded and directed the episode loves to use CG and blender. He even used it on the storyboards. But for other directors, that's not the case. We can actually see this in the trailer with the other sequences where he's not CG. There's also the fact this is the only time we see shirtless Denji fight. The rest of the time he's clothed, which will most likely be 2D as the clothes would be near impossible to do right in CG. So all in all I don't think there's much to worry about.
@@foxillian13 the blend between 2D and 3D is great. If people expected that his chainsaw transformation was going to be 2D, it would've been almost impossible to do. Not only do you have to draw it each time he moves but it's just too costly for the studio and animators so to make it easier use a bit of a mix between 2D and 3D and it makes it so it's not 3D at all. Maybe you can tell in a few shots that it is 3D but JJK used it and AOT definitely uses it, the 2D masks over the 3D and it makes it great.
I really loved this reaction, the Pochita case is a little sad but he'll always be with him so it's not too bad. Also I'm excited to see how you feel about Makima and Power as well as Aki, there's a lot more characters to come so I hope you enjoy this rollercoaster of a show as much as I think you're going to :)

Man you can tell they put pure joy and love into this adaptation and the absolute bloody visceral scenes are done so damn well CSM fans couldn't have asked for a better adaption plus OP with ED were awesome

Devil's in the show have weird forms because they're actually born from the fear of humans. The chainsaw devil aka pochita has a chainsaw head because he was born from humans fear of chainsaws so he is basically the embodiment of the fear humans have for chainsaws.

There is some CGI issues but still the sound quality, image quality and the way it directed is the best with some crazy action and not fast passed like other good manga/ Ln. It gonna be a great season.

As a manga reader I can tell you that you will enjoy this anime very much! it's gonna get so much crazier, but that's why we(manga readers) love it! And i have to say, Denji is probably the most relatable main character out there!

I think the story and characters are just good enough so that I can overlook the CGI.
