A lot of people compared this show to JJK, but the dialog and story is very compelling. It has lots of themes grounded in psychology, personal growth and constraints. The visual imagery is also super crazy. It’s super good. Starts fire even more hype and morally deeper the further you get. Easily a 10/10 manga/anime
I lowkey get annoyed when people try to make this a comparison to jjk. Maybe its because Im a manga reader and know how this is going to run much differently than jjk. But I feel like people should be able to tell with this level of gore that this is something much different.

I'd say that while the story doesn't really innovate too much, its strength is in its execution. Other stories have already done most of its concepts, but Chainsaw Man does them *so fucking well* that you don't really notice or care.

Honestly, I was hyped for this just because I was itching for a gnarly ass anime, and it's nearly impossible to have chainsaws in a fight without it being gnarly. The fact that the story is fantastic, is just gravy. Give this poor man some hot chocolate and some cake.
If I was the mc I wouldn't have debt because I believe in the logic of "can't have debt if they're all dead. And if someone tries to blackmail about it, it won't work because I also go by the logic "can't blackmail if you're dead".
