I grew up listening to Just A Minute in South Africa... my week was built around BBC programs... Hancock, Goons, My Word and others. No TV in South Africa so radio was everything... still is.
Im glad someone has uploaded these tp youtube, its given me a chancr tp ger reacquainted with a series i used to love listening to while at work. I fell out of love with the show cuz it seemed like so much of what made me love the show in thr first place was gone.

I really hate when Nicholas says 'i cant award any bonus points' like hes on a budget or something, never mind in later years he'll hand out bonus points for practically nothing, and in one case gave a bonus point to Tim Rice just for saying Bonus Point. He makes this big show about not being able to afford to give out any bonus points despite frequently giving out bonus points like food at a buffet.
Andree Melly had a tendency to be given the short shrift on this program despite having correct challenges. In fact she was correct in one show when she challenged Derek fot repeating daffodils and Nicholas had the temerity to proclaim that her challenge was utter nonsense. In fact hes penalised her and admonished her for being too clever despite.coming up with the exact same kinds of brilliant and clever challenges as thr men and yet she, like many women that appeared in the early days, were treated like second class citizens and essentially were there to be straight laced stooges so that thr men cpuld get laughs at their expense.
The teddie beverly episode, she gets challenged on good and has the subject taken away, she tries to challenge on good, doesnt get it cuz its the subject on the card and then has the subject taken away from her again for repetition of good despite it being the subject on the card. Unbelievable
