    Lol, as soon Graham Norton started riffing on upstaging people as a rib to Pam, I wondered if he'd make the mistake of repeating 'upstage' and he did at around 1:52:26-ish ! But sadly no one challenged him on that one :D

    1:38:43, another prime example of Nick essentially being a human parrot. Wouldnt be the only time Nick uses Kenneth's material and try to ride his comedic coattails. Its no wonder he doesnt object or penalize people for repeating things other people have said, despite it being thoroughly irritating, in poor taste, and highlight just how unoriginal it is to steal other peoples material and pass it off as their own. With Nick being the high chief plagiarist

    Thank you so much for these Spartakist Mk2. Along with My Word (and ISIHAC) this is one of my favourites back in the day. Some of the better offerings the BBC put out in my opinion. Do please keep them coming! I’m surprised BBC Radio 4Xtra doesn’t broadcast them on the Sounds app but strangely they never do. Best wishes and thanks again.

    1:34:52, 'stop being so pompous in your decisions/opinions!' Nicholas, by you're own admission a person can be dreary, pompous or whatever they like, you do not hold the monopoly on being pompous and have no right to tell other people whether they can be pompous or not.

  • @bobbyshaddoe3004
    @bobbyshaddoe3004 11 дней назад

    During the subject of A Fool, we see the one and probably only time Nicholas doesn't fall into his usual 'I would've given it against you anyway' by leaving the subject with Clement after the way he's been rude to Nick, to showcase his fairness. Cuz rarely does an episode pass without Nick trying, and usually failing, to prove how fair he is on the show.

    Something else to take.note of, any time a historical subject is given to Kenneth, nine times out of ten he starts off well on the subject but clearly deviates by bringing in things that aren't relevant to the main subject, like in the case of Cagliostro. He starts off well by focusing on him but then starts veering off and talking about Marie Antoinette. It did seem like Kenneth more often than not was essentially allowed to get away with all kinds of stuff simply by virtue of the fact that he's Kenneth Williams.

  • @bobbyshaddoe3004
    @bobbyshaddoe3004 14 дней назад

    1:51:32, I can't help but feel that what Nicholas just said was a lie, because the fact that you can normally pick up what people are saying cuz of the microphones, and you don't actually hear Sheila say that she's willing to fight Kenneth, it's possible that Kenneth did stand up to challenge Sheila to fight and all Sheila did was stand up which is what caused Kenneth to sit back down. Honestly, whenever Nicholas has to do this play by play 'I just explain to the listeners' stuff it varies between being funny and being tedious. Cuz any time he has to explain what happened, it's rather like someone that has to explain a joke to someone that may or may not get it, it spoils the humor.

    1:16:26 Yank here. I don't know Cricket well enough to have known 'google' had a meaning before the internet age. What a fun surprise! ...haha Of course, I've listened to it three times and I still don't understand what an 'off break ball' is, or 'leg break', etc. I'll look into that, which is fine because I'm into sports.

    • @spartakistmk2557
      @spartakistmk2557 13 дней назад

      Simply put, from the bowler's perspective an off-break bounces off the pitch (i.e. "breaks") to the right, and a leg-break bounces to the left. A googly is when a bowler who usually delivers leg-breaks makes the ball turn the opposite way instead, like an off-break; it earns a special name, distinct from ordinary off-breaks, because the leg-spinner uses a different technique (imparting spin with their wrist, not index finger) to achieve the rightward bounce. The Wiki page on spin bowling has some helpful illustrations: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spin_bowling
