They perform an acoustic version of the band’s new song “Hurricane.” The first song off their new album, 'To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere,' is about when everything goes to hell right when things seem to be perfect.

Sounds like D tuning "D G C F A D" with medium or heavy strings and a little reverb to me
yea but to find the one's that are actually accurate, then it's a challenge. I've looked up 4 different tabs and all of them had something different to show nor did any of them match up with this cover.

why is it that in so many recordings of thrice you can barely hear the lead guitar
This is definitely a bad sound mix. Plus he isnt a dominant, power-shred lead player
Partly cause they used a dynamic vocal mic instead of a condenser, that and they didn't gain it up enough. Which is awkward since Audio Technica's logo was plastered there the whole time
