    If it bleeds, we can kill it. Get to the choppa!! So many incredible quotes from the famous action movie! I know I said I had seen it before, and I have, but honestly I remembered very little so it felt as much as a first time watch along as any other movie! It was so much fun and buff Arnold was insane to watch! On to the second!
    Thanks for watching! Have a great day! :)

      Best thing about this movie for me was i missed the first two mins of the film, so i had no clue what the infra red pov was all about. The Alien was a total surprise. I came in just as Dutch was doing the dude bro hand shake with Apollo Creed. made the movie so much more of a surprise for me not seeing the pod launched from the star ship.

      You probably know by now, or someone below may have mentioned it, but Alan Silvestri was a very prolific film composer in the 80s, just like Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner were. People know him best nowadays as the composer for the Avengers, but he is also the composer for Romancing The Stone, all the Back To the Future movies, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Abyss, and even 90s films like the second Predator movie, Death Becomes Her and Forrest Gump. Plenty more after those in the 2000s and 2010s. He was/is Robert Zemeckis' go-to composer, just like John Williams is to Spielberg.

    FUN FACT: The original script had it written in it that it was supposed to end with Arnold Schwarzenegger killing the Predator and winning in the one-on-one hand-to-hand fight, but it was changed at the last minute because Arnold himself was adamant on it and he realistic enough to know that in a real fight the Predator not only would've won, but he would've mopped the floor with him (and he's very right to think that, as Arnold stands at 6'2 while the Predator (Kevin Peter Hall) stands at a gigantic 7'3!)
    So the ending was changed to Arnold winning the final fight through his wits and traps instead of his brute strength alone.

      The worst ones claim to have anticipated stuff that superfans didn't notice for years.
      They are genii and that's why they are all incredible authors and filmmakers.
      The plural of "genius" is "genii" pronounced Genie Eye.

    • @trekkiejunk
      @trekkiejunk Год назад +1

      To be fair, I do occasionally see a reactor point something out I never noticed before, but what they pointed out was so glaringly obvious, I don’t know how I never noticed it before. And the only thing I can think of is that when a product is good, your brain doesn’t notice the mistakes, because you’re so focused on what they got right.

    • @trekkiejunk
      @trekkiejunk Год назад

      There was one reactor who watched the OT Star Wars, and indicated that they knew “from pop culture references” that that the Emperor was named Palpatine. When she got to the Prequels just a couple weeks later, she said during Episode III, “oh my god, what if Palpatine is the emperor?!” And then when his face gets monsterized, she says, “Mind blown. I can’t believe that he was the Emperor all along.”
      It actually didn’t surprise me much, because her whole react personality seemed fake anyway. She seems like someone who just took a theater class, and has “Avon Lady” face on all the time, if that makes sense.

    Some interesting facts, the helicopter pilot at the end of the movie was the guy in the predator suit, also the same actor they used for the Alien in the first Alien movie, also some of the sound effects of the predator (clicking etc) was done by voice actor Peter Cullen who is known for voicing Optimus Prime.

  • @shainewhite2781
    @shainewhite2781 Год назад +3

    MY #1 FAVORITE ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER MOVIE!
    Facts you didn't know about the movie:
    Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit which looked like a lizard insect hybrid. He even wanted to kickbox Arnold but the producers refused.
    Kevin Peter Hall, RIP, was cast as the titular character as he was more of an intimidating opponent for Arnold's character Dutch being 7'2".
    Oscar Winning VFX company Stan Winston Studios designed the PREDATOR suit for the film and would later return to the franchise for PREDATOR 2 in 1990.
    Half the cast and crew got food poisoning except for Arnold and Director McTiernan whom ate Spaghetti O's and PBJ Sandwiches like Spielberg and Ford on Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Schwarzenegger would later hire his own personal Chef to give the actors the food they needed. No hot meals were allowed due to the heatwave in Mexico so they ate protein bars instead.
    The producers hired a bodyguard to protect people from Sonny Landham, RIP, whom played Billy as he was prone to violent outbursts.
    Landham said in an interview that, "We weren't making a movie, it was a survival story for all of us."
    The scene where the stuntman falls off the cliff and lands in the water blew out his kneecap.
    It rained for 2 weeks making filming even more difficult.
    It was 110° in the shade while it was 42° at night.
    The film was a box office success making $100 million dollars ($360 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget.
    It was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to InnerSpace.
    It's now considered to be one of the best Sci-fi Action movies ever made.

    "You're hit, man. You're bleedin'."
    "I ain't got time to bleed."
    "Oh... okay."
    Fun Fact: Jesse Ventura was delighted to find out from the wardrobe department that his arms were one inch bigger than Arnold Schwarzenegger's. He suggested to Schwarzenegger that they measure arms, with the winner getting a bottle of champagne. Ventura lost, because Schwarzenegger had told the wardrobe department to tell Ventura that his arms were bigger. You're going to have to get up much earlier in the day to get one over a professional practical joker.
    Don't Drink It Fact: The Predator's blood - a goopy substance with the color of Mountain Dew - was made on-set using a mixture of the liquid from inside glow sticks and KY Jelly.
    Practical Effect Fact: The invisibility cloaking effect was achieved with a bright red suit (because it was the farthest opposite of the green of the jungle and the blue of the sky) the size of the Predator. The red was removed with chroma key techniques, leaving an empty area. The take was then repeated without the actors using a 30% wider lens on the camera. When the two takes were combined optically, the jungle from the second take filled in the empty area. Because the second take was filmed with a wider lens, a vague outline of the alien could be seen with the background scenery bending around its shape.

    John Mctiernan is the director of the original Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengeance. He also directed Arnold in The Last Action Hero. Out of The Predator Sequels, I think Predators directed by Robert Rodriquez is a really good one with its own unique premise. A little bit different to the other Predator movies. The second Alien Vs Predator though...That film has issues.

    The movie where Arnold got Carl Weathers hooked on fine cigars, he liked them so much he was having cases flown in to set almost daily and Arnold had to tell him to slow down and take it easy on those cigars. It's a good thing they went with this design for the Predator and a lot of thanks goes to James Cameron who suggested to Stan Winston he always wanted to see a monster with mandibles. Van Damme was the original actor under the suit but got replaced by Kevin Peter Hall who at 7'2" looked more intimidating. Kevin got a cameo as his human self at the end, he's the chopper pilot with the sunglasses. And a connection to Transformers, Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, did the vocal sounds of the Predator. Jesse Ventura became governor of Minnesota, Arnold became governor of California and Sonny Landham tried to run for governor of Kentucky but dropped out.
