I knew he did.. But yeah.. The dead Zone ad joke blew by me.. It's like I always forget about it but it is technically the first member of the brat pack that he worked with during the run of the show.
I'm glad this exits here still. These commercials were so cute and funny. And it was even better since I was a fan of all three shows during this time(and still am).
@@laneconnelly30 sorry for the late reply, yep. There were a few others like this, sometimes with dead zone and other USA shows. There were no crossover episodes unfortunately. This was as close as we got to one.
It's funny that the guy from Dead Zone shows up as a mean police chief in Psych last season but only in like three episodes, and Monk was hinted at in the last episode. It almost makes it seems like they exist in the same universe but the Dead Zone guy was playing a different character in Psych.
Ha! I remember seeing this. It was hilarious and a slightly mind-blowing at the time. I think that was the first time I had ever seen characters from entirely different shows interacting like this. I also just remembered how good tv used to be and am a little depressed now.
@@sarahbreisch4750 you may think that looking in but in reality his dad just wasn’t good at handling a child. though I do commend he always tried his best
USA Network was on top in the early 2000s, Psych, Burn Notice, Monk, White Collar, Suits, Royal Pains, In Plain Sight, and much much more, At one time USA network was the only channel I watched most nights.... What happen to you guys....
They were also airing re-runs of House M.D. during that same period of time. I used to just leave my tv on USA most nights because the line-ups were so good
@@FullMoonOctober WWE just came back to USA, is all that was. WWF Monday Night Raw used to air on USA in the 90s. They switched over to TNN/SpikeTV because they were doing things that USA and their parent company weren't thrilled about. But them coming to USA was a return, and it was a good business move for USA, since they clearly had nothing better to go in that timeslot.
Thanks to whomever thought this up. Great idea. If you were into the three shows, this is perfect. Thank you for posting. Only saw it one time. Figured I'd never see it again. Oh yeah, thanks to youtube also.
Man, I miss the USA Network of Old. Not to say that there aren't some great shows n USA now but majority of them are Reality TV. I miss the "Character Welcome" era. The shows were interesting and the characters were great. I loved these commercials too; breaking the fourth wall.
I've always loved 'The Dead Zone' and it is a true shame they never got to finish the series when the new network guy came in and pulled the plug on that and 4400. Sci Fi always gets the shaft first.
Them pulling The 4400 was one of the most annoying decisions ever in the history of television. Just when that show was really getting incredible, they axe it. Ugh.
I can't believe this was so long ago. Seems like just yesterday this commercial was regularly on USA network. As soon as it came on I remembered all the words to it.
It just occurred to me how many of these USA shows followed the same pattern. The main character is an expert in their field but forced through circumstance to be an outsider working in that field. Psych, Monk, even Burn Notice. Funny how that pattern still worked.
I can purchase Monk on Digital. I can purchase Psych on Digital. I can *not* purchase The Dead Zone on Digital (UK). This video being recommended to me has made me both happy and sad.
I do have a memory of a Monk episode where his watching television and the program he sees is Matlock and that is interesting because it has an actor who is the actor from Dead Zone. But wasn't the actor from Physic in Monk he plays a reporter or something. Of course, Dead Zone has a connection to another older TV series in the mid 2000s Young Indiana Jones. Monk is supose to be returning later sometime next year and if so I would be interesting for the other two make a comeback as well and the Mentalist Returns: The Red John Conspiracies?
As much as I love Monk and Psych, I kinda wish they had a few bad guys that would have popped up from time to time. Like have unsolved crimes that lasted a season or two. Yes, Psych had Ying/Yang but I mean they were only two episodes. Like have them show up for more then a few episodes here and there. Have the villain of the week but still have the ones that got away still mess with them.
Ok, FYI, the Yin Yang killer lasted 3 episodes and a role in the musical not just 2 episodes, and *EVERYONE* knows about Monk and Dale the Whale, he lasted throughout the entire series! Plus on top of that he was constantly going through his files trying to figure out who killed his wife. Your Welcome.
I mean villains that actually got away came back killed a few people got away. Not just some fat guy in prison, or some psycho that helps in one episode that gets killed off.
scottieman2 *THAT* WAS Mr.Yang!! From what Chief Vick says in the first episode, Mr.Yang goes and comes seeking new opponents and that he's (she's) killed more than a dozen people. And that "fat guy" is the only person who knew *EVERYTHING*, he just wanted Monk to figure it out on his own. And if you're looking for more than that, then go watch a superhero cartoon or something.
Oh and I read back to the last 2 episodes of your first comment, and Dale the Whale is *EXACTLY* what you're looking for!!! He shows up in a couple of episodes to mess with Monk's head and tease him with vague clues about his wife's murder. And speaking of which, the *unsolved* murder of Trudy Monk lasted throughout *THE ENTIRE SERIES* up until the finale!!! So there, MORE evidence that shows that these shows ALREADY have what you're looking for
