Lifetime Longhorn and alumn here… a few thoughts: Elko is a class act and the right guy for that team. The Aggies are a great program, and it’s just a matter of time before the team gels and makes serious CFP runs. Also, the Kyle Field environment is amazing. Kudos to the A&M fans for their passion and intensity - every single time. I enjoy football even more when the Aggies are on top of their game. It will happen. 2024 was a big step forward.
You guys will be better next year with Arch behind center. Your team is deep and talented. The Arch vs Ewers debate will be settled once Ewers is in his 4th year and Arch is in his second or third. It won't be close.
Congrats to coach Elko and the Aggies for the successful moments this year and for what's to come. TU was 5-7 under Sark's first year. We have no doubt on what you're setting out to accomplish, proud to be a fan of such a class act coach and team.
Aggies haven't won anything or have never said"we're back" "we are National Champs" "we are in the BCS or CFP". The aggies haven't been able to win at anytime and Elko is a waste and got lucky this year. SMU is back from the Death Penalty and the Texas A&M Aggies haven't won in the BIG XII or SEC let alone at least 3 10 win seasons. Night and day situation 1 season doesn't make you a winner just ask Jimbo Fisher and his 76 million dollars!
The difference is that Sark is a good coach with good players. Elko is a terrible coach and A&M won’t be able to recruit after this season. A&M is done forever.
This coach is a high IQ guy, who's really going to make this school hard to deal with. I don't know why people are asking "what's wrong." Those are questions for Florida State, and Oklahoma State. This coach lost a ton of talent when Fisher was fired, then lost key players to injury and did pretty darn well.

Second Texas fan. Elko is in his first season and Sarkisian is in his fourth. There is a difference in depth above all else between the two programs. Three examples: 1) Ewers has a gimpy ankle. Texas brought in Arch Manning to add a running threat on fourth and short and scored. 2) Tre Wisner was Texas’ third back coming into fall camp. Two ahead of him went out with injuries. 3) Kelvin Banks is our best OL. Hurt in first half. Subbed Goosby and didn’t miss a beat. As well as A&M recruits, that depth will come. Elko’s 8-4 first year is way better than Sarkisian’s 5-7. Return of the rivalry is good for both. Terrific atmosphere last night. We hope to provide the same in Austin next year. They play chase all night long, and never know where the ball is. They are slow to come up and hit when they read run. On offense the O line and receivers could play much better. Also there is way too much showboating when they really have nothing to brag about. This is usually by the defensive backs who are the weakest link on the team. The db coach needs to be replaced by someone that Herm Edwards might suggest. He hates db play that never knows where the ball is or that won’t make plays on the balls.
