Your eyes detect movement but your ears don't. This confuses your brain and it basically reacts as if you've been poisoned, which is why you throw up when it gets too bad.

I know the Wii was great for senior citizens in nursing homes and retirement centers because it kept them active and gave them some fun activities to look forward too. Now that the Wii is being phased out, hopefully things like the Quest 2 can fill the same niche. I was able to pretty quickly teach my grandma how to use it and she's someone who barely knows how to use a smartphone. Although she gets scared by things flying at her.

I think anything motion crontrolled is much easier for older folks to learn. The controls are just super intuitive . Playing a tennis game? move the controller like a racket. boxing? punch the air. You do everything the way you would in a real life situation, as opposed to learning which button does what. Which can be supper overwhelming for new users.

Personally, I still think the stock strap for my Quest 2 is just fine once you dial it in. In fact, I find halo style hard plastic head straps to be headache inducing and uncomfortable to use for any real length of time. To be fair, once I had the strap of the quest 1 dialed in my opinion was that it too was pretty comfortable and effective.

Or too young, either. I feel like Meta should allow users to create a Oculus account without having facebook, and they can starting from 10 years old. (Like Rec Room) maybe add parental controls to disable voice chat, and not collect data from under 13 users. Of course, facebook would never do this.

I have the same thing happen with my PSVR except it's even more extreme, I don't get immersed at all... Not even slightly, I could get flung 100s of feet into the air and feel nothing more than I would staring at someone getting shot into the air on a television screen. Also the screen door effect with PSVR is just insane.
I don't know why I don't get immersed at all either, I mean my family freak out at the same things that leave me feeling so underwhelmed.
I can't even remember the last time I used the PSVR, hell I can't remember where I put the PSVR that's how little I care for it.
Honestly I still want an original HTC Vive if nothing more than to keep as a memento since it was the first VR headset I ever used and the only one I actually felt immersed while using, of course when I tried the Oculus Rift I only had like 5 minutes so I barely even got to try out anything and I felt nothing while playing that mountain climbing game even when looking down at the ground 100s of feet below me, it was all such a massive disappointment and I just wish I had a way to try a VR headset again so I could know whether the PSVR and my brief experience with the Oculus Rift were flukes or if my amazing experience with the HTC Vive was the fluke and VR actually sucks in general!!
God I just want to try VR again because ever since that oculus rift demo all I've been left with are questions, questions I can't answer because my family can't afford a VR headset meaning every time I think about VR I constantly have all these thoughts bouncing around my head.

Luckily when I purchased the Oculus Quest 1 along with Half Life Alyx, I knew to expect intense motion sickness at first. The best way to remedy this is to ween yourself into with small play times at first. I can say it's not something that you get used to fast, and can liken it to getting used to driving a car. Its different, but definitely possible to start pulling off crazy shit once you're used to the motion of virtual environments.

All went fine, I was amazed with the detail of the game and the freedoms to move, grab, take and throw things but in a ment I moved forward to a desk and the characters for an unknown reason went on it. The camera moved fast and that's caused me "motion sickness". I removed the headset, and stopped to play. The next day I woke up and I feel like I will fall anytime IRL, that thing caused a very dope effect in my brain. I put the headset again and it feels more stable than IRL.

Technically the safety guide for the quest 2 strongly recomends users to avoid using the device outside because sunlight exposure to the external cameras can damage them. They're still little lenses that are capable of bending beams of light and magnifying the rays. It's a length of exposure concern though, going outside with it for a little while isn't going to result in imediate damage, but if left exposed for a proloinged period it can and probably will, under direct exposure.

“The Rift S is a better headset”
I’m planning on getting a Quest 2 this week and let me say, the Quest 2 has better graphics, and can still process the same level as the Rift S if you have the right pc.

I agree, but also the rift s got original hype games like half life alyx and blade and sorcery, boneworks etc.

With that waiting for quest 3 thing you can't go off of how many people are talking about it, just look at iphones, right as one comes out in a week they are talking about the next but then that one won't come out for a year or 2.
