My channel is about VR Content (obviously lol) I've covered many topics on this channel in the past such as PC Building, PC Gaming Knowledge, Gaming News. That can be CPM rates, Industry knowledge, Business knowledge, how to edit, how to build a gaming PC, budget or not. But VR is cooler so I'm probably gonna keep doing that.
I'm like the monkey you send into space for tests. I just come back with the results and give them to you for FREE.

what we need is a lightweight, wireless headset like the quest 2, with the advanced finger tracking controllers like the index
DecaGear could use it's Chip/Processor for that, but instead it's used as a Wireless connection to PC.
And the adjustments for the eyes and head that the index has
Companies: No.
And high FOV and high IPD range.
The Index controllers are amazing but the only game worth playing that really makes use of them is Alyx. I'm glad I have them for that game but that wouldn't be the one reason I'd choose an Index over a Quest 2. I bought the Quest just for being able to use Gravity Sketch outside of my office but it has ended up mostly replacing my Index. There is just no accounting for user friendliness of the Quest, it's so quick to turn on (literally automatically turns on when you put it on your head) that it's effortless. The Index however, despite being set up always feels like just enough of a pain in the ass that I can't be bothered to use it. Since getting the Quest 2 I play way more VR than I did before simply because the system doesn't get in the way of me wanting to use it.
"which is better for you?"

quest, definitely quest
😂
Yup
Hahahahahhahahahah

Why am I watching these videos again? Oh yeah I like torturing myself with stuff I can never hope to have.
If the Q2 controllers had like a grip button for each finger-and I guess a strap like the index-It'd be perfect. All fingers "tracked" with a bit of physical feedback/resistance.
too many electronic components in one place (might be too heavy, where to put a battery??), people dont have same hands, children have smaller hands, in the end it would be clumsy heavy controller that you can easily break
@@gorlix yeah good point dude
@@gorlixidk for me lavle index knuckles arent that bad in games.
Me watching this on the oculus😑
Yay i finally got an oculus quest 2! And all I had to do was sell my soul to Mark Zuckerburg!
I got one too. while I question the ethics of facebook/oculus the headset is pretty great. Super affordable and looks great.
I have one with a fake name lol
Worth it
@Imbillybob still waiting aswell
I also got one, and I love it
I've had my Quest 2 for over 2 months now. It's been a hassle, getting a silicone facepad, a better strap, and a Link cable. But now I'm in a good place now with Q2. $300 plus the $40 for accessories is a steal considering the competition.
I got a rift CV1 for $120 with everything included and it has been great. Definitely has been used and abused a ton but it's holding up great!
I’ve been running with the base model just fine for around a year now. No special attachments, just the quest 2.
still cheaper than the competition
I’ve had the oculus air for about, since I was born..and uhh it’s been holding up well too actually, haven’t actually played any pvp games other then this game called “nerf battle” pretty good I guess, haven’t played it in years though. Also got the “glasses” extension it’s pretty cool but it gets in the way sometimes, best thing is, is that it’s free AND you can also sleep with it on, best oculus ever I would 100% recommend. 👍
That's funny cause I just got a Quest 2 the other day for my birthday and it had the silicone cover in it already
i dont think people ever realize how much it helps a content creator to give them 100% watchtime on a video but every one of your videos ive seen so far are worth it your videos are packed with information right up until the outro every time
Isn't watch time only relevant for prime users?
but its pretty biased
Summarized: Valve Index is high quality at the sake of reliability and longevity.
Hey man! I really liked your videos! (specifically the VR related ones you've made recently) I would REALLY love to see more VR content from you! keep up the great work and high quality videos!
couldn't ask for a better review. thank you.
Tbh from 11 months ago to now, you have changed a lot you can see the drive and motivation in each and every video you do! Keep it up and meta what's up with a sponsor for this guy like omg 😅💯💯
The Valve Index has something people don’t give enough credit to: Unparalleled audio. Playing games like Half Life Alyx on the Index makes it insanely more immersive because it sounds like you’re actually in that world, not like you’re listening to it through headphones
And the microphone is top of its market!
literally this video is also so bias
@@_v1nce130 the guy in this video is a massive quest 2 user I wouldn’t be surprised if he biased it
@@_v1nce130 dude same, in a tier list video he did, he put the valve index at the same tier as the, THE FUCKING PSVR
If you have a really good set like astro A50s then your getting just as good of audio as its totally adjustable with its software. And to the rest of you folks, Literally in the first part of the video he said he ahad 2 weeks with quest 2 and like 800hrs with index. I seeing people flock to hate on shit with others just because they found somebody who hates something like them with nothing but but looking dumb for not paying attention lol
the audio on the quest 2 is what i need, if i had a valve my dad would be screaming at decibal level 200 before id hear him lol
Lol
the index is litteraly made to hear whats around you

Great job on the edit of this! So much effort and will help a lot of people down the line. I’m going quest 2!
Quest 2’s are amazing I had one since Christmas and I can’t stop accidentally hitting the controllers and they still are good except I have drift but it’s not to bad, so yes get one
now you have to sell your soul the the lizard robot man
Honestly im cool with lizard man
How do you get to play games in it since you don't need to connect it to a PC or something like that?
@@blue_ribon_mochi0450 9 months late u prolly know already but headset doesn’t require anything, just turn it on and get started.
I think that the Index deserved Tracking. Sure, the base stations are annoying, but you don't need to drill them into the wall. Also, The full tracking even when the controllers are behind your head is so nice compared to the front-only tracking. If the Quest 2 included optional base stations that connected to the console itself, that would be a real game changer.
Only if longer longevity
Just use the quest pro controllers, they have cameras on them so they can track even when the headset can’t see them
Thing I hate the most about Quest 2 is the hardware. I've crashed in so many games and my screen has been frozen so many times and this thing is still brand new.
One of the BEST comparison videos I ever seen, thank you so much for the great info!
Me: I like the valve index
Also me: looks at room
I think the quest 2 will do
Lol
I've had the Quest 2 for about 9 months now and I absolutely love it. Between me and other family members it's had about 600 hours of use. Its still working without issue, even the foam interface is fine. The controllers have been whacked against TV"s, walls, picture frames, mugs and people and are still unmarked and work fine. I've modded the strap and attached an after market battery to the back but who cares when it's such good value in the first place.
Yeah its incredible
My controller broke, but it took me slamming it at maximum speed and force into a stone benchtop
I’ve had a quest 2 for a little more than half a year and the only issues I’ve had is I have to reboot after charging because it is stuck on the battery screen and an area in my play space is kind of dark so it loses tracking a bit, but otherwise it’s amazing.
I'm pretty much a VR novice but you explained everything quite well! Great video!
I got into VR with Quest 2 can't remember how many months ago. Never would have gotten in to VR without being able to try it so cheaply, but I discovered it was amazing and became a VR junkie. Was on the fence, but ended up getting an Index...and I have not regretted it for a second. Quest 2 is great, but... I really prefer the Index. It's just so much more comfortable. I tried multiple head straps for the Quest, I like the halo one the best, but still... It's just so heavy. Might not seem like much at first, but after a few hours...the difference in weight makes a huge difference. And for PC VR, especially Steam games...just a better experience generally. Yeah, you can get a link cable... Virtual Desktop actually works really well for me, better than link cable...but neither can beat the combined Display Port, USB3, and dedicated AC adaptor of the Index. I thought the cables would be a downside, but in practice... I don't have enough room that I can roam around...even if I turn around in place, I'm more likely to hit something, so I just keep my feet planted. So I'd rather just have a cable and not worry about having to run out of power. I usually end up playing my Quest with it plugged in to my MacBook charger so I don't run out of power anyway. But the Index's cable is conveniently behind my back, but with the Quest, it hangs annoyingly over my shoulder. The better FOV is really nice. The controllers...pretty good, but even though they do have more of a premium feel vs the cheap plastic of the Quest, I'll actually give points to Quest, because the Index controllers restrict the range of motion of your wrists, and they give me callouses. But overall, I prefer using Index and am annoyed when I need to use Quest for some reason now.
TL;DR: Quest 2 is a great way to get into VR, the value for the money is incredible... And it's perfectly adequate for PC VR. If you can't or don't want an Index or anything else, you're not missing out on THAT much. But if you have the money to spare and want the best PC VR experience you can get for $1K or less...The Index is totally worth it.
The Index actually gets rid of the screen door effect entirely because of it's LCD screen. A huge upgrade compared to the gen 1 Vive I used to have, which had a really annoying screen door effect.
Not completely still there but barely there
he legit shows the screen door effect on the index lmao
@@maaqzfishy9505 I've never noticed a screen door effect, but it looks a lot more noticeable if you zoom in, but in average gameplay it's basically unnoticeable, even if you try to see it.
@@maaqzfishy9505 its more visible through a camera obviously.
Even less on the Quest 2 since it has higher resolution LCDs
Great comparison review! I'm pretty new to the VR community but I've watched so many of your videos before I purchased my own Quest 2 because you keep it so reliable 👍
I am actually happy that my Valve Index has had almost 0 issues. The cable is still good controllers have had no major issues accept right controller not wanting to connect when first turned on. The base stations 2 of them have almost no whine and 2 have the whine. if you use something with some weight and hang it off the base station it will absorb the sound. Only Major issue I have with the headset is the glare, not terrible but would have liked it too not be as bad as it is. Have had the headset since April of 2021. Purchased March 8th 2021.

@@BlackkDiiamonds I went from a pc headset to quest 2, and mostly use it for pc gaming and it works really great. Especially after the wireless updates. I'ts feels like a native pc headset, and being wireless feels so much better than a cable. Just buy an external battery to put on the back of it, cause without it you can only play like 2-3 hours before you have to charge it.
Very nice info and thank you very much.
Great video! Very informative. I've had a Q2 for about a year now and I thought I actually had a lower end model that everything else had passed by. Apparently I don't. My biggest issue with the Q2 is it being tied to FB. The audio is also an issue but most of my VR play is connected to a PC with a full surround audio setup, it's not that big of a deal. My grandson on the other hand, uses the Q2 wireless most of the time and we have had issues with the audio just not working at all until the entire system was restarted.
Anyway, now I don't feel bad about only having a Q2, so thanks for that!
you could buy 2 256GB quest 2s both with link cable and elite straps for the price of a valve index
Exactly. The best possible Quest 2 (Link cable, 256 GB, Elite Straps, battery pack) still costs way less than an Index.
@@medizinee thats no where near the best quest 2 you can get for that it costs more then a index and g2 and is worse in almost every way
@@brandoncraig2923 What are you talking about? I mean this literally, I have no clue what you’re trying to say because of how poorly made that sentence was
I love my quest 2, but after quite a few months of use, I’ve had a number of software issues. Sometimes I’ll randomly lose tracking, if I take off the headset and put it back on I’ll have to hard reset it. Among other things, it’s basically unusable now and oculus support wont replace anything.
Finally someone that doesn’t blindly listen to RUclipsrs
Yeah, i used to have a rift s that i had issues with and oculus support was a full on waste of time. They dont care about their customers whatsoever. Unlike steam support
@@chiboinu1395 steam support is hella nice
Bro I'm not sure what cursed unit you got cause I have a quest 2 and the only problems I've been having is like the headset occasionally forgetting the guardian place space and I just have to re-draw it
Oculus quest is great for folks new to VR. I don't regret my purchase however it's limitations become apparent over time primarily with the link cable. It's a great addition and adds a ton of value to the device however if performance is important getting a dedicated headset might be the better option. I have a 3090 paired with a AMD 5800x however pc vr games with the official link cable while good can be a bit glitchy even with an increased bitrate. Overall though it's a great option to have just keep expectations in check as the quest won't perform as good as a dedicated PC headset

Thank you for this video, it was really helpful!
You're literally the channel I was looking for!
Thanks for the detail you put into this and your hard work. Definitely made my decision much easier.
the quest 2 is the new king of VR, fight me
-higher resolution
-120Hz refresh rate (on some apps)
-easier setup
-cheaper
-wireless
-works as a standalone and a PC headset (wireless using airlink)
-better lenses
(bonus : there is a little hack for the quest 2 controllers that converts the wrist strap to a grip, look it up on youtube)
so it has the best value, with overall better functionality
Only downsides for me personally are the general tracking (Would be nice if they sold their own base stations separately for those that want them), hand tracking (Would also be nice for individual finger tracking with the controllers), FOV (Feels like you're looking at the game through binoculars) and battery life, even straight out of the box is pretty short. It would be nice if they made a cable where it would charge the headset whilst also using link for those long sessions.
If the Quest 3 somehow added finger and body tracking, better Air Link (with more of the features and quality of Virtual Desktop but without the extra app running), backed off on the FB bullshit, and stayed under $500 it would be game over
i enjoy the index :)
-Extremely bad hand tracking
-Controllers sometimes just won't track for example if you put them behind you're back
-Must sell your soul to facebook to use it
i mean the thing is selling your soul to facebook is a big downside
Thanks for the excellent video!👍😀
I got both. I got the index on release, and I just got the quest 2 a week ago. I agree the quest does feel like it will be more durable. So far I've had to replace my index controllers through the warranty once, and I've had to replace the headset itself due to the speakers quit working. It was actually after my 1 year warranty and valve still offered to replace the headset which was awesome, granted it was only a month or two after my warranty expired. If I had to chose one and was on a budget id get the oculus, and even if you have a pc you can get the link cable and run any steam vr game. I don't agree with what you said about the base stations, here they are 100 for an extra, and it comes with two in the box, it helps if you buy one more (3 total). I don't turn them on individually each time, they go into sleep mode and when I turn on steam vr they fire right up, and I do not hear a sound from them unless extremely close, almost ear resting on them. You don't have to mount it to a wall, you can use a stand or set them on a shelf if you have one. So far after a few year they haven't failed on me. Then again, its nice to not have to worry about base stations at all. I love being able to walk any wear in my house and play my quest with a quick set up.

Hell yh I'm early love the videos
I, unironically, have the exact opposite experience in the controllers section for the Quest 2; my controller shell SNAPPED after hitting my clothes hamper which was close to me, so the durability isn’t all that good, (for me) and even though the material is white plastic and not painted plastic, the (what I’m assuming to be) matte coating scratched off along with color, on both the controllers and the headset itself. The tracking is fine though, and with the crack I just had to put some duct tape on the controller and let it seal for about a day. If you’re thinking about getting a Quest 2, don’t let my experience tailor your opinion, as this is a problem I’ve never seen on anyone else’s system. The Quest 2 is a great headset.

Also want to try to get some eye tracking in there but that's for another project.

GREAT video! Really professional!!😃
this video has been extremely helpful, I've been overwhelmed with which VRheadset to get because i just don't have alot of experience with them and i didn't want to get one that i'd end up hating. im not a huge tech savvy person so being able to see and hear someone's full honest opinion on both systems has been really relieving for my decision making!
Man, Valve's gonna have a *Lot* of data from all the Index's they've replaced, Just like, envision the sheer number off stories you heard of full headset replacements they've done and further realize how long the Index has been around. They'll definitely have a *Lot* of active use data to run through to improve their next VR headset for when ever they decide to release it. I say release cause no doubt Valve is working on *Something* behind the scenes, they're Valve, they are always cookin up something in their labs. lol
if they truely are making Deckard id imagine one of the reasons itl release later rather then sooner, is they likely want to put it through alot of Qualty Assurance tests before they begin mass producing for consumers.
because their is just know they would want a index 2.0 situation where they have to constantly fill out RMA's and lose out on profit potential due to having to replace everyones hardware for free, hardware thats likely costs hundreds of dollors per componant to build,
while ya it wont hurt their bottom line and sink them since they make 95% of their money via Steam, and some of it via index and deck sales, that still a alot of money being thrown away.
ultimately as someone who wants to get into VR and wanted a Index, after learning about all the Quality Control issues, im going have to swear off on the index, and likely settle for a Quest 2 for now, get that on my Birthday (July 3rd) in 2 weeks, along with a link cable, and daily drive that for my VR headset til Deckard releases. im not willing to deal with likely having to RMA shit every couple of months. and potentially being SOL if things break out of warrenty,
even if the warrenty was 3 years id have to say no.
a $1319 (im Canadian) Device that is very prone to breaking is inexcusable to me.
the main things for me, is i also plan to exercise with it, and i dont want to potentially destroy my headset from sweat in the process, and have to RMA it or lose out on $600,
the other side tho im wanting to get into something like Pavlov and i know you need good tracking for that.
but if i do have to make a decision, ill put up with the somewhat less reliable tracking during a compeitive Shooter game if it means i dont brick my Headset from too much sweat seaping into the lenses
i like this, keep up the good work👍🥳!

true just wider fov and the eye adjustment for me on my quest is just not immersive, although it is for my friends and family. i’ve been looking for a good headset for immersive gameplay for myself. what other options are there besides the index?
In my opinion the index controllers are way better, I think the buttons feel nicer and the joystick just feels way better. I also have 3 friends that have a quest 2 and 2 of them have very bad drift. I have a index and a quest 2 and i have spend over 350 hours in each. (600 hours with the index and about 400 hours with the quest.) And I think that the index overall feels better in quality.

The Quest 2 is very much affordable at least to me and I feel like the inevitable 3rd literation of this unit is where i'm going to bite. They know how to make a quality unit, and the Quest 3 will be even better I'd assume, reviews will be well vetted too though. I'm interested, I want to experience this tech, I'm in on the next launch when ever that is. I thank you though for a very well done comparison.
This is one of my favourite videos:)
Realistically the only downside of the Q2 is the shorter fov and the IPD adjustment. Other things like uncomfortable headstrap can be fixed with a $40 accessory. You can get knuckle straps for the Q2 for like 20
But ideally, those issues shouldnt have to be fixed by throwing more money at it. If it’s a matter of personal preference, for sure, get an aftermarket head strap, but Facebook instead designed a better product, and didn’t strive to include it in the finished version. Instead, they made it a mandatory separate purchase. If you give a company an inch, they take a mile, and being compliant with having to buy items that make the product functional, after the fact of buying the product, is giving Facebook an inch. Just wait until they take the mile.
But think about it, you can put excessories on the index too!
@@demonhunter3109 But the index cost $1000. And is missing a lot of important functions such as being able to do wireless PCVR. Can't do stand alone. You can literally get four Quest 2's or two Quest 3 for the price of one Index. And index only uses fresnel lens, base stations, is only 1600p. Compared to a Quest 3 which uses pancake lens, 2200p, XR2 Gen 2, stand alone, Colored passthrough, wired/wireless PCVR (wifi 6e). Valve index in 2024 is completely outdated and should be nowhere near $1000
@@chan13153 i don't really care about price, also wireless vr is bullshit i think, i do not care that it isn't wireless. Why is such a big problem? If i had the option to choose between wired or wireless, i would choose wired, wireless is slow and just a downgrade from technology. And yeah the rest is true now its outdated, but you have to remember i made that comment 7 months ago, it wasn't outdated then
Having used both the Quest 2 and the Index, I honestly feel like a lot of the issues you bring up with the Index (mostly in reference to the base stations) are unfairly embellished.
I agree with the controllers being uncomfortable after a while and the lenses potentially being an issue, but I've simply kept my base stations in standby mode for a long while now with no problems. Don't have to individually turn them on that way. I do realize this will probably be an issue later on down the line, but I also feel that by the point that does become a problem VR will have advanced to the point where I'd probably be considering upgrading to a new headset anyway.
Also, to be fair, the setup on the Index is mostly a one-time thing unless you move the base stations or decide to completely move the setup to a different room, whereas you have to set up your guardian on the Quest 2 every time you play in a new location (unless you only play in the stationary mode).
I also have some pretty high shelves I have mine placed on, so no need to mount them to the wall, which also made setup pretty simple. The sound from the base stations is also not noticeable to me at all unless I put the base stations directly up to my ears, though to be fair I do usually have a fan running or other sounds that may simply be drowning them out. All of the software-based issues are also at the fault of software developers and not the Index itself, so don't understand knocking it on that point.
Again, having used both headsets, I can say that while I certainly love how convenient the Quest 2 is, I overall enjoy the Index more. To each their own, I suppose.
One thing he should have mentioned is that the quest 2 is limited to a certain selection of game. Or did I just miss that part?
@@FurgusFungus Well, it depends on what platforms the developer of a game is willing to sell it on (just like console games). If the game is able to run on Quest, it's really worth the devs time to put it on the Oculus store, seeing as how so many people are using Oculus. So while yes, some games might not be available for the Quest, a great majority are.
Oh also the link cable exists
@@FurgusFungus It isn't. You can play all steam VR games, all oculus rift games, and all standalone quest games with the quest 2.
@@FurgusFungus it's more the other way around. The Index can only play steam games (and rift games if you use a hack). The quest can play quest, rift and steam games out of the box.
thanks for this now i can show this to my dad and maybe ill get it like ur vids
I love this content dude, but can we have more ranking vids
I just want to include as this video is a year out now, currently there's a lot of cheaper and better alternatives now to the Quest Pro Strap, the BOBOVR M2 being the most popular. This is the one I use and I highly recommend, better quality than the pro strap, and is only $35. Also, all Quest 2 systems now come with a silicone cover for your facepad in the box if you don't like the feel of the sponge cover, so you don't even have to buy one yourself.
you forgot to mention the elite strap has weak points and there are tons of reports of the strap breaking at the same place but tbf oculus are allowing refunds fro like 2 years but its still good to mention
Excellent comparison
I just ordered a quest 2 yesterday and I'm waiting for it to arrive!
Great job !
I was on the fence with deciding on a VR hardware purchase, but after watching this , you described my dilemma perfectly.
Keep up the good work !
I'm selling my Rift S and my oculus account and bought an Index just to get away from Facebook. Your rating in this video was great but "requiring" a Facebook account to use it is a deal breaker.
@Christopher Delli_Fraine Google "Facebook violating privacy". Just trying to describe what Facebook does, for example, a person does not, nor ever had a facebook account but that persons parents, their friends and spouse/children do. That person who has never had a FB account, does not know that Facebook has a ghost account about him, and know everything about him, and that person has no idea. Example #2 Facebook can brick your Quest anytime they feel like it. If you do or say anything Facebook does not like or your name is similar to someone who pissed of Facebook or Twitter, Facebook will terminate your account and your Quest will not work.
People with Quest 2 made a 2nd account just to use their own Quest 2, have had their headsets bricked,(FYI, Bricked, means software disabled/disabled on purpose or by a failed or corrupted update, etc) because Facebook knew that it was not a "real" account. Just so you understand if FB bricks your Quests 2 it is done it will not work, there is no mod or work around, Google it, they have done it to other people. Send it back and get something else, anything else.
@Christopher Delli_Fraine facebook is a shitty companies with shitty practices, if you dont have a facebook account ? ur quest is just a decoration.
Kinda just wasted money since they just removed it and pretty much every company sucks ur data dry ur using RUclips right now they also do the same thing
I was thinking about upgrading to a Valve, but after watching this, I just gotta say thank you for saving me a grand!
i found out that wearing a thick beanie with my quest 2 is actually super comfortable with the normal strap. You just have to readjust the strap a bit and it feels great.
Great in-depth review! Pretty thorough and felt mostly fair!
The only thing about this review I honestly felt like I had to take with a grain of salt personally is the “reliability” discussion.
And I’m not at all giving you a hard time over this, you were pretty fair and reasonable throughout the entire review!
You mentioned the Index having “well documented” reliability issues but from what this review implied, all reliability issues were simply based on empirical data, ie: “based on reports I’ve seen online and my friends, it FEELS like there’s WAY more reports on one vs the other.”
I think this is a super natural thing to do as a consumer of anything, and formally gathered data is way more work and sometimes not really possible to gather, but… I’m always very careful about at least making a distinction between empirical data and formally gathered data since empirical data is a hallmark folly of the internet- often the loudest voice is heard over the factual common voice.
I have no idea if there is ACTUAL data collected on both these machines to make a factual comparison on reliability, which if there is, then I’d be very happy to treat the reliability discussion between these two devices as factual.
Anyways! This was a great video that you put a ton of work into and it shows.
This helps a little bit with my decision! But I’m still doing more research.
I absolutely abhor Facebook but… that wireless option is SO appealing to me… because I hate wires.
But also the index controllers are amazing, I love the no-handed grip feature….
So still gotta do more research but thanks for the video!
There's also the aspect that Valve Index was released more than 1 year before than the Quest 2, so of course you'll find more reports on Indexes failing, because at the time of the video index were doing almost 2 years, while Oculus Quest only existed for 6 months... also the drift issue was adressed so its not that common now, saying that they did nothing to fix the problems is a lie.
And lets not forget Index is from steam, which has a platform where people can complain and bitch about it, while Oculus doesn't... so it's really easy to find people complaining about it there, while the Oculus won't be that easy, since it'll be all spread out over the internet. Also about the warranty is depends where you live, in Europe its 2 years warranty and now will be 3, because they need to respect European laws if they want to sell here.
Another thing he said was that he had to turn the trackers 1 by 1, which was a problem, well just connect them into the same power supply, or leave them on since they enter standby if you close steam... I also don't understand why he complained about the noise they make, when you're playing you don't ear them, and why would you leave them running when you're not playing? Some of the complains seem to be there just for the sake of complaning.
@@vinhix also he conveniently didn't mention Oculus's fucking horrendously designed software
I can’t say I agree with a few of the things in the video, but I do see that we aren’t really looking at it the same way either. I see everything from whether or not I’m going to have a more premium, immersive experience while it seems you look more in flexibility as well as ease of use. Because of this I would have swapped a few of the things around leading to the index barely winning, but I guess it is different for different people.
Edit: I also would have added a category that dealt with pcvr quality since if you want to plug in the q2 to a pc, it doesn’t blend as well with it as even the rift s does despite on paper the quest being superior. In that regard the index would definitely win as well.
I think that is a good point since he didnt put them into that category
Okay Vr is great and everything, But your nails look amazing. could legit be a hand model lmao.
The fact that you can play steam VR games wirelessly with the quest 2 was reason enough for me to buy it. I haven't really had any complaints at all with the Q2 In the year I've had it. I did replace the strap with a halo strap and install a silicone cover. I also Velcro strapped a 10000 mAh battery bank to the top strap wich gives me an extra 5 or 6 hours of battery which is more than enough. I did have some tracking issues with the controllers when I first got it but that seems to have been sorted by an update.
One pitfall I did fall into was getting cheap rechargeable batteries for my controllers. Turns out a lot of the cheap rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts instead of 1.5. Make sure you don't make that mistake because it causes a whole lot of strange issues with the tracking. I've also noticed that tracking tends to get worse the lower the battery level gets so I tend to replace them well before they are dead at around 20-30%
