Looking good Billy Ray! 😎
@@CameronCooper feeling good Louis!
@@RickGraham Glad somebody spotted the T shirt. Glad to see you here.
@@CameronCooper Frozen orange juice and pork bellies is my advice.
Merry New year, hahahaha!
I don’t need it, I don’t need it, I don’t need it (edit: I ordered one)
I do lol.
... I NEEEEEED ITTTTTT
Lol, I'm about to hit up the website and shop around. That pretty much means I'm about to buy something!
Same here. For that price, I couldn't pass it up. If I like the character of those pickups enough in person, I may end up getting rid of my EVH 5150 and pocketing the extra $450. Such an insane deal on these things.
I love how this man actually made sure to legitimately edit his post 😂😂😂
Dude your playing is absolutely insane. Your style is what I've always strived for.
In 2020 I bought a Harley Benton Fusion-T HH EB BK and it is an incredible guitar and sounds amazing!! I play every week and it has turned out to be a high quality product.
I have 3 indonesian Harley Bentons, a superstrat, a single cut and an explorer type(B-stock), they all arrived in perfect shape, almost perfectly set up, in tune...crazy, just crazy...they look and sound beautiful
first thing first: awesome playing dude!!
HB guitars were pretty "basic" to me in the beginning, but now they are amazingly good. Two aspects are beneficial for the customer: 1) normally the dealers have a 30% marge and because HB is a Thomann brand, the end customer does not pay it, and 2) they are QC at Thomann which does a better job in my opinion that the quality department of many other major guitar makers.
A guy I know opened an HB superstrat-type guitar once and I was astonished to see that they even shielded the cavity, which for a 300€ guitar is quite unusual.
Sounds strange, my 80 € guitar was already shielded when i bought it 15 years ago ...
I own 5 and it seems every year they just keep getting better and better.. I do put upgraded pups and hardware on some of them. They're EMG line of guitars have been amazing for me. But let's be honest when you can get a really good playing guitar for under 200 bucks..insane.. but yeah the EMG retro active pups on the one's I got turned me onto EMG's. and roasted maple necks some w/ stainless steel frets and locking tuners. they're awesome. Happy to see you doing this w/ HB
Cameron, I bought this guitar after watching this video. I wasn’t crazy about the EMGs through my rig. Swapped them out for a set of Seymour Duncan Thrash Factors. Now it sounds great with my setup! The guitar is cheap enough to make it worth upgrading the pickups.
Ordered the T style the other day. Think this guitar finally puts us at a point where you don't have to spend $750+ to get a fully professional quality guitar. I think this one genuinely competes directly with $1,500 guitars in terms of hardware and we've never seen anything like that before. That's a $200 set of pickups on a $380 guitar. Absolutely wild. You're not getting a flamed roasted maple neck on any other brand for under $1,200.
I will have to agree..I am totally blown away! I just received my Harley Benton, and as about THE cheapest model they carry it is freaking amazing! The finish is damn near perfect, the frets are smooth..And it sounds ridiculous!
Same story in this video
I've had my Fusion HSH for a year and am still amazed by how great it is!
Nailed the lay it down Riff Sir 🎼 just never gets old 🙏 nice guitar & demo Cheers 🍺☮
Lay it Down sounds pristine on that.. Warren DeMartini is seriously underrated. Great playing
Yes indeed. My first and only yet is a Harley Benton Fusion T HH FNT. The first run from 2 years back. It's most played !!!!
Got a b stock Baritone amarok and added in the emg wireless system... guitar had zero cosmetic issues and no flaws in the build at all, everything worked fine out of the box..... absolutely love it
I love the full ratt demonstration at the beginning
That is utterly insane value. As noted, those pickups could account for most of the overall price...
Unbelievable indeed.
that's what surprised me
@@CameronCooper
Hey Cameron. Thanks for the video! Quick question if I may:
I have one of these with the HSS Roswell pickups, 2pt tremolo and shell pink body - although I like the guitar, I am still looking into the Charvel DK24 models - I feel like the Seymour Duncan pickups and Gotoh 510 would be a lot more reliable than the ones in these models, and the 12'' - 16'' compound neck radius would come closer to the RG style necks I am used to. However, the price difference is huge - you can literally buy 2 of these and still keep some change for the price of the Charvel.. What would you do in this case? Thanks in advance.
I own the Charvel DK24 2pts and they're awesome guitars! You might prefer to your Harley Benton given the higher spec'd hardware. However the Charvel will feel more like your HB than an RG. RGs are a lot thinner by comparison. Imagine the DK24 as an HB on steroids
your playing really matured a lot through the years man... it's stunning how good you got! You deserve way more visibility!
Hello there 😉
Hello Cameron Cooper, its been a while...
Hello
ahhhh general Cameron 😂😂
Yo cameron congratulations on your 100,000 subs
What’s the name of the song you were playing at the beginning? That was sooo sick I gotta learn that
I was looking at getting the new Jim Root Charvel, but now I think I might get this. Thanks for the great review.
it wont even come close to the neck of charvel !
@@murzazeal69 the charvel is four times the price. The HB is so much more value.
Jim Root used an old Jackson (Dr3) (Pre owned by Fender), Corey bought him an SL2 as a back up and he used Micks BC rich's for studio recording. (Charvel are also Fender) But the HB and make your own custom 🤘
I have to admit...I bought one which I received about a week ago. And, I am super impressed. Build quality is great, and the neck is insanely good and ultra playable. And it sounds insanely good. I have been an EMG user since the late 80s, and was very pleasantly surprised by the Hot 70s. Super dynamic, sparkling harmonics, and even the cleans are really warm and tweak able. I have and have had some rather nice guitars, but this was the best 400 bucks I have ever spent on guitar gear. I love it much more than I expected to, and fellow players who also own insane guitars were shocked at how playable it is.
I have 4 HB’s and they are all completely awesome
This video got me to take a chance on this thing and I absolutely love it. The neck is a little thick but it feels incredible, pickups are underrated too in my opinion, great value 🤘
freakin' LOVE those Ratt riffs to start things off!
Harley Benton, LTD, and Schecter are absolutely dominating the low and mid-range market. Squire are getting their asses handed to them.
I have basses from Schecter and Harley Benton, and I concur!
Schecter is awesome for us lefties!
The Squier contemporary are surprisingly awesome for the price
Squier is on top of their game right now, check out their newest contemporary Strats, Teles and Jazzmasters, they are amazing
You stupid? Squire while they did suck in the 90s and early 2000s they've been fuckin amazing the last 8 or 10 years. You know who really does make garbage low end guitars? Jackson.
The tone on this guitar is amazing.

I loved the intro with the Ratt riffs. Great review, bro.
Fell in love with this thing when I saw them post it on insta. Your review just seals the deal. Oh yes, it will be mine.
I'm definitely hooked on Harley Benton. My skeptical side went away as soon as my flying V classic BK arrived. Awesome video. Rock n Roll brother! Keep laying it Down...
It went from 2-3 to 26-36 weeks before they are back in stock. I ordered one from b-stock. I should have it in a couple of days🤘🤘🤘🤘
This video I don't think has helped them selling out. Glad you got one on b stock.
I'm still in love with my Amarok I purchased about a year and a half ago. Specs for the price are absolutely bonkers and it plays like a dream
Bought this guitar b-stock for 415 euros cuz stock is a problem on this one right now and for a good reason! It blows away some of my other more expensive guitars! You Demo helped a lot!
I ended up getting one. I paid a butt load for shipping, like $60 bucks or something, I am still very happy with the bang for the buck on this thing. It seriously had everything I wanted and the roasted maple neck is just what I hoped for.
Since I heard about this brand I am more and more interested in it and I can't wait to receive the two guitars I ordered in the next few days
A ST-20HH Active SBK and a ST-62 SB Vintage Series
Thank you for talking about this brand which has one of the best quality price ratio that exists
There's just one thing I don't understand, it's that when you look at the tests of Harley Benton's modeling amps, it doesn't look great and knowing the brand, I wonder why
Instead I took a Fender mustang LT 25 which seemed to be of much better quality
I see we have a FFDP fan, that guitar is an absolute beast. Iv ordered one
I am certainly a FFDP fan aha
@@CameronCooper right on man! Just subscribed, hope to see more reviews and epic playing in the future!
the 400-500€ Harley Benton and Squiers are making me not wanting to buy expensive guitars EVER again.
They don’t just make instruments. I have 2x12 Harley Benton cab with Vintage 30’s and it oooozes of face melting tone!! I will have to go check out the kits, as I’m wanting to do a first build. Thanks for the review!!
Cameron, you do not waffle, you inform ! Love your playing, I could sit and listen and watch you all day. Great demo, love that guitar ! It's a beautiful instrument, for sure. Thank you, young man ! 🤗☺️❤️✌️🖖👋🇬🇧
Great review, great playing…bonus points for the Trading Places tee-shirt 😎
If you have ever had to have a refret done on a beloved guitar, that is exactly why stainless steel frets is a huge plus. I have had to do a refret on my Brian May Gold Top, (Jascar gold jumbo, go figure).
I WILL be buying this Harley Benton. After playing for 50 years and switching recently to 24 fret guitars, I almost can't give up the two octaves now.
Buying the Harley Benton will give me two representative guitars of my two favorite players. Brian May and David Gilmore.
This Harley Benton reminds me of my favorite guitarist, guitar, David Gilmore's black strat. I know it's a different animal altogether, but that suits my playing style better anyway.
I just can't believe this... Whenever I have seen these guitars before, I always assumed a higher price and lower quality... I have now taken a bit more time to check them out and even if it is just to test one out, I have to get one. It is kinda scary that they can be that good at that price.
Man, HB has some absolutely very nice Fusion III models. I really like the flame maple models.
But, this black one is the only one with EMG pickups. That closes the deal for me.
Jackson and Ibanez better step up! Their 500-1000$ models are such low level nowdays and the competition is high, amazing market!
that seals it, I've been eyeballing an HB - I know it's going to be great. I'm sold.
Cameron, thank you for the review, you seem to be excited when you are talking about this guitar which is great. I have been in manufacturing for over 2 decades and i know specifics on how much things make to build and ship. Also the low cost region manufacturing plus the use of modern CNC manufacturing methods also significantly reduce costs. Companies can take advantage of these facts and the design their company to be very efficient right from the start and part of that plan can be that you can sell guitars for $400 that someone would have to pay $1500 or even more. Also some brands have name recognition and they get to charge for that.
I am a much bigger fan of CNC than low cost regions for many reasons, a few are that the machines are very repeatable day after day, they can work 24/7 with maintenance time substracted away, it does not matter who is making the product, and you can have a CNC machine just about anywhere in the world. Also your playing is so clean, fluid, fast, you have come a super long way. Cheers.
My first guitar is a Harley Benton strat-body I bought at a flea market for $75 & its sounds absolutely amazing
Great shirt
“Mortimer … we’re back “
Always love your demos Cameron. You never substitute fancy fret work for awesome sounds.
Ive been following HB for a while now and almost every 380-450 dollar guitar to come out of their factory is top spec'd. Cort too has been making amazing high-end guitars for the same price. These two are the only brands I'll go to after Ibanez and ESP.
Cort make most brands guitars. Fenders, Schecter, Ibanez, music man etc.
LTD, PRS SE are made by WMIC (World Musical industry company) and Cort also. (I worked in the guitar industry, the amount of times an Epiphone came in with a better build and feel quality than a Gibson was untrue)
Thanks Cam. What an amazing looking guitar. That was a fantastic tone that you were getting out of it as well.
Can't believe the price 😳
I worked for a big Music Retailer and people tend to not understand how pricing actually works. We had a MINIMUM mark up of $600 on many guitars and that was back in the early 2000s! Companies like Harley Benton simply have honest pricing. There's nothing more to it.
I remember working in a store and I was selling people the Yamaha set for xmas, which was a bit of a premium on the kit they wanted me to sell as the mark up was less. I said to the customers, do you want them to pick it up and stay with it because they have a nice guitar? Or do you want the guitar to become a hindrence to them so they don't like playing it? Always got the additional £30 and Yamaha guitars are so under rated. The absolute besst guitar is your own custom guitar by just making it yours.
It's the shipping charge that gets ya! ; )
Just got one few days ago… it replaced my main charvel guitar. This is a suuuuuper guitar especially for this price
Okay okay.... OMG!!! Harley Benton have made a believer outta me!! Jesus lord have mercy!!! I'm saving for the Charvel Pro Mod Style 2 (Charvel tele) but NOW... man I don't know!?! I may have to buy one of these. Dang!!!! And the title of the video is perfect too dude.
All I've ever really owned are Pro Mod Charvels, and they're great but I just pulled the trigger and bought one of these EMG T styles for under half the price. You don't get locking tuners on a Charvel unless you get a DK24, and none of them have stainless frets. From there, you just have to ask yourself how important it is to have passive pickups and a Floyd 1000. Either way, a set of Seymour Duncans runs about $200 by themselves, and a set of these EMG Retro active 70s is also $200. So it's an unbelievable deal.
Love your playing Cameron! You could make cardboard sound good! Keep up the great work my friend!!
I keep coming back to this video, gotta order this one
This guitar screams and Cam you really play those Van Halen riffs well great job.
Outstanding video. Your playing; your delivery; pacing. Got yourself another subscriber!
I so want!
I love this vid, always makes me smile....fkn unbelievable 😂😂😂 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼🏴
Great review, Cameron. You're obviously very enthusiastic regarding this guitar, which sounds amazing. Did you use the Yamaha THR30ii with this, or anything else?
I used the Yamaha
@@CameronCooper thanks!
HB are great guitars for the money- as also great playing and great videos- big fan of your playing and your channel- Bobby
I have the Fusion II and Amrok 6 both amazing.
I'm always slayed by that little Yamaha amp
I am now watching this video one year later in 2023 and hope you have learned to drink your coffee before starting to record a video about a guitar, maybe you have grown a bit wiser since this video.
Lets hope so since I want to know more about Harley Benton and because of that I just subscribed to your channel. I want to know more about how their, for instance, necks feels compared to other brands and stuff like that, since I recently saw that Harley Benton started some year ago to build more expensive guitars where the pickups are like, half the price of the guitar.
That is kind of crazy, not many other brands are building guitars that way. Anyways , I am looking forward to see more of your videos preferably coffee-free 😘
BTW, the video where you started of playing Vai's Riddle in the intro was awesome! That sound you got on that great red looking Harley Benton really got me interested in the brand.
Let's put it this way, I've not drunk tea on camera since. And if you want to hear me compare necks of these guitars to bigger brands and play HBs where the pickups are half the price of the guitar, perhaps you should have watched this video. ;)
@@CameronCooper Haha I am sorry I kind of went on looking for other videos that were "tea free" haha. Also I got very interested if HB had a guiitar with a whammy bar.
That Amarok one in red would be awesome with a tremolo.
I found like a MAX signature Harley Benton with Floyd Rose 1000 in it and some pickups called "Tesla" that I have never heard of ?
You would not know of any Harley Benton with those EMG's from the Amarok or other better pickups than their own Roswell brand and a Floyd trem system by any chance, or is the MAX it ?
@@CameronCooper What I really would like is a guitar that is as cheap as possible with neck through and a double locking tremolo system. Pickups and tremolo system could be the cheapest shit.
I would then add my own fav pickups to it and swap out the trem system for a Schaller Lockmeister for instance and I could have cheap great metal guitar. I just love the feel and sustain of a neck through.
So far I think Harley Benton has the cheapest neck through I have ever seen at below 250£ 300€/$ with their Harley Benton Baritone-7 SBK. I just need it to be a 6 string with a double locking tremolo =)
What are some of the cheapest neck through guitars you have come across Cameron ? And if you know any with a double locking trem you get bonus points.

514£ for the Cort X500 Menace With
7piece maple neck through body , Seymour Duncan Nazgul & Sentient pickups, Floyd Rose 1000 original, Stainless steel frets, Compound Radius Fingerboard 12-16", Mahogany body, Maple top, Ebony fredboard. Seems like a sick guitar for that kind of money? It is up on Thomann, I am buying!
Nice review. You've got me sold. I'll have one. 🤘😆🤘
This dude sleeps with his guitars. No doubt. I could listen to this shit all day.
Came for the guitar - stayed for the playing! Wow.
Great to have ss + lockings at this price point. It'd be great is Solar (and others) did it, but I guess they have to make their 1.0's attractive with more than just Evertunes, after all, those 3 things are all you're getting and maybe better wood selection but I doubt there's much variance with that.
Glorious neck, fantastic pickups, fantastic playability. What more could you want.
I've never been disappointed with thomann
That’s cool man Harley Benton is quite good for the money for sure cool shreds btw subbed
Some tasty playing there at the end!
Awesome playing dude! Harley Benton rules!
Cheers Cam!
Bang for the buck I recon mate!
I’m sold on the Stainless steel frets and emg pickups!
I love your channel mate but the only thing is you make me want to buy stuff lol 😂
But appreciate it dude thanks 👍🏼
Seriously considering getting the 27" Baritone they make since the Solar baritones are out of my budget. I'd replace the stock pickups with Lundgren M6's though, unless the EMG Retro 70's blow me away.
The EMG retro actives are perfectly good.
I've got an S-620 electric, a ukelele and a HBO-850 nylon acoustic from HB, and they're all incredible for the money! The S-620 and the HBO-850 set me back less than €150,- a piece and the ukelele was somewhere around 20 bucks. I've also got a Les Paul Studio, a Fender strat+ and an Ovation Balladeer, but I take the HB's over them anytime.
You are a champion Cameron Cooper!!
10/10 for Ratt! Did not expect that haha
Made the step into HB a while ago when they released their EMG loaded white Explorer 84. Didn't disappoint, it's a killing machine that deserve a way higher price tag !
I'm really tempted by the new Fusion III models but I can't decide which model would suits me best hahaha.
Anyway great video and great playing like always Cam ! ;-)
Top T-shirt, one of the best films of all time.
Agreed
I just bought a used pro series strat. It is fucking awesome! Just swapped the pickups with a suhr humbucker set on it. Will put up against any $2500 super strat!
Plus you can really chop it up nice on the fretboard!
Man, you ROCK!
i am going to order one of these right now !!!!
Hey mate, thank you so much for this. I didn't know this brand. I've been going for Ibanez so far. I'll definitely give it a chance on my next buy!
Damn bro absolutely sick playing
Great stuff, might need to pick this one up!
I only need one 😎🤘
Harley Benton's Fusion line is made by Swing Guitars in Korea. I've owned a bunch of Swing instruments over the past 10+ years, and they've all been great as far as quality and value goes, especially since they're not well known so you're not paying for a big name instrument. I still have a Swing P2, not parting with it anytime soon. If these Harley Benton Fusions are as good as the Swing guitars I owned, its no surprise that they're amazing. Not sure who makes the other instrument series for Harley Benton, but I don't think I will be able to resist not owning a Fusion for much longer.
This one's actually made in Indonesia
this guitar will sell out like pancakes. thanks to you Cameron!
Love the 80's vibes man.
I've been thinking to get one as cheap CNC guitars are literally all that these days. My last experience with cheap was a Solo Music Tele kit. it was cheap, and I had to shim it, replaced the tuners with a $40 Chinese locking set, and put in a $1.50 bone nut. Pickups sounds fairly good so no issues there.
The action is butter and quite low w/ no buzz at all, and I tuned it last night before playing for 2 hours and I've just finished another 2 hour session and it's mere cents out of tune. Tuners. Nut.
Such tasteful playing!
I had the warning back in my days with a Cort X series guitar…yeah…it comes with EMG's that had never been cheap…but other components like tuning machines might not be good…also you might see the pain wearing quicker…and gotta check out if the neck is not twisted sideways (i had that on a pretty bad chinese guitar) and fretwork being nicely done (my damn Jackson had better fretwork than a 4K Gibson)
I would only had better eye on this one cuz Thomann have this fret checking service and they will obviously use it to check their own house brand products
I own one and its damn near perfect
I want one with a Floyd, which I'm sure they'll release right after I buy this one, lol. The clarity of those pickups at high gain is really good.
Would buy this model in a heartbeat, but I am currently waiting for the Amarok restock because I love me some baritone scales. Need that 27'' goodness
Really want to try one of those. Love Baritones. I'm playing my Gretsch Baritone all the time
I will get one of the fusion series at some point. nice guitars thanks for sharing your opinion
Let's say, only the bridge & emg pickups alone are around 320$ can. Add to this, the locking tuners, stainless frets...
Never tried a harley benton, but, I don't know we're they are making their money
Probably on the volume. Volume purchases are generally cheaper then consumer prices.
Man I've been interested in these guitars they have some great specs for the price, its a great budget alternative to Charvel but lacks some mojo.
What is that mojo exactly?
@@honigdachs. Just my personal opinion, its the cool factor thats missing, doesn't feel like a future classic. I think the finishes and roasted boards are boring, stainless steel frets are its main saving grace. Good for beginner guitarists or a refinish project, otherwise give me a charvel any day.
That P ain't free riff is wonderful
I have 3 HBs and they are all amazing guitars. They take pride in what they build, unlike here in the USA, where they just want to squeeze pennies out of you.
That's interesting isn't it
@@CameronCooper Very! And I’m not done buying HBs!
