@@SolidSnakeAce Yes, that is a trade off I noted in my research. But the tello is tiny and has half the flight time. I'm hoping to modify the sg106 to carry a fishing line. But weight restriction here in UK is 250g. The sg106 is best compromise between cost / payload capability (don't know yet, but will advise) etc.

Just ordered it from Amazon. Thanks Captain. At this price point, you can't go wrong even if it doesn't last long. It might get me over my drone phobia after a bad experience with my first drone, a DJI that never actually flew. It would just start up and then flip over on the ground as I tried to take off.

wow! That drone is quite amazing! They are these days! I can remember even just a few years ago, I was only able to dream to get a drone like of this quality and feature packed. Back only a few years ago. They did not have drones with these kind of features available at all. (well except for the expensive ones). I had the Phantom 3, but wished to have a small drone great for indoor! All they had avail to buy was these little Propel Altitude models. I still have it right now. They were basic controls. No altitude hold, no stabilization of any kind. It's all manually! Even altitude hold was manually. These things were NOT for someone with out experience, I tell ya! They are a challenge to get good at as a beginner! It does have a camera. But no FPV. And it's 480p. I bought it thinking I can use it to fly around the house without having to get out of my bed. hahaha, boy, was I wrong. It's way too unstable for that! But anyway. That was a just a few years ago.. NOW TODAY, it is SO NICE that we can get a drone with FPV, 1080p, stabilizer on the bottom, and all those cool features, all for basically the same price as the Propel Altitude from a few years ago! That's so cool these days! I can imagine what they will have a few more years from now!! My prediction would be.. The typical toy grade $29.99 drones will have 1080p FPV, some kind of stability sensor, higher quality parts, modular batteries, long range, and heck, maybe it will have built in indoor "way points". LOL
How can you ppl live in a snow bank.?ha,ha,ha I live down in the sun shine state. So maybe I'll buy one of those CG106

You really have to be careful with these gesture mode drones! If you flip it the bird (your middle finger) the drone sometimes flys away!!! It senses that you just don't like it and flys to try and find someone to love it (I think that's why they fly away).

Thanks mate, thanks to your review, I bought the "SG106 Optical Flow Drone with Dual Camera 4K Wide Angle Wifi FPV Altitude Z4W1" ... any idea what Z4W1 means? Maybe the 4k camera is a little better, I will let you know. (only $4 more, so I won't hold my breath .. why do the Chinese so exaggerate camera res?). I especially wanted one without gear boxes (most of the cheap ones under $100 have nylon gears which wear and cause noise and reduce efficiency). As the motors are brushed, I guess that cancels the gearbox avoidance, but hey!
It was OK but took it to Maldives ....... and made it go vertical until ... er... lost range. And it seemed not interested in coming back down, so gentle breeze took it out to sea, where it gently landed............................. So OK, me bad, but no protection against out of range seems daft. Ps: These are not direct drive motors. They are made to look like it but are right angle geared (slim motor in arm).

Best line from this review, "I really should read the instructions" LOL! That was great. I did the same thing with my Spark that my wife got me for Christmas. Plowed a line and destroyed the 4 props. So you should have shown it! Even Captain Drone makes a mistake or 2. I really enjoyed this. Fantastic Job and I'm sure your wife was happy to see the mess. Gotta love those Popcorn Ceilings.

I bought this drone from Amazon and would not recommend it. I have used the controller only to fly it because I could not link the drone and my phone. At less than 50 meters the drone seemed to take on a mind of its own and just flew off into an area of tall grass. It did not answer to the controls. Unfortunately it did this more than once despite being calibrated each time before flight, a necessary step. To return the drone and get a refund, you have to pay to send it back to China. Beware !! You get what you pay for.
That is unfortunate Mike. My worked fine with no issues. You do realize that for the price these are mass produced "throw-away" drones (i.e., there is no warranty and when they become unrepairable, you throw them away).
I've just ask you if you have a review on this drone, I think I've gone the answer captain drone... thanks and good luck and wish to see more videos and reviews and tips on how to fly better...

fix your props, they have nicks or they are slightly bent.

My first drone and I just did a test flight. I had a problem with the *camera not connecting to my phone* at first. When I connected to the drone wifi, there was a pop-up warning the network doesn't have internet connection. I had to tap on the pop-up for extra options and choose to keep the wifi connection regardless, and voilà! I got to record some aerial footage of my big dumb grin flying this thing around.
Maybe that's a common thing to know, but this being my first drone I was disappointed for a while when I thought I'd received a faulty product.

Hello sir, I do have a question- my phone doesn't support 5G wifi, and since I don't want to buy a new phone in order to buy a drone, I was wondering if all drones who require 5g are also able to fly with my 2,4g phone. OR maybe you are so kind to tell me SOME drones which are able to do that, if not all drones can do it. I don't really care if the range is smaller with 2,4g, since I am planning to fly it to short distances anyway. Thank you in advance for your reply!
Drones don't care if you have a 5G, 4G or 3G phone. What you need is a phone that has a WIFI Signal at 802.11ac communication to speak to the drone.

@@Taggerung Putting a micro SD card in a drone means you want to record video. All budget drones have terrible video because they have no gimbal. The only low cost budget drone with a gimbal (lowest price) is the SG906 PRO. Get that one as your first drone.

AMAZON. Props are generic, you just have to buy props that would fit.
I bought it, was the top seller drone in Aliexpress. I haven't received it yet, watched almost all reviews and I am already regretful.
I'll never use aliexpress ratings as a reference by now.

I also watched top rated drones. I think I'll save for mavic mini and be a happy flyer like every1 else. Every penny is wasted if the item you bought doesn't meet your needs.

No, certainly would not fly for 22 minutes in the cold and wind. But, as seen in the video, it was all shot on one battery and there was still plenty of juice left in it at the end.
Would have liked to see the Auto Home function..
Oh... trust me when I say it is a gimmick. The drone just flys backwards which could be nowhere near you... and into objects.

Please tell how to connect the smartphone to the drone. I' have got a everlasting "connecting"
First you need a smartphone or tablet. If you have either of those, you then need to know how to connect your phone or tablet to a WiFi connection. Then just turn on the drone and connect to the drone's wifi connection. Then open the App for the drone.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 of course i do all these operations but app can't connect to the drone, it only shows "connecting..." status and nothing happens. When i trying to connect to the drone with phone's Wi-Fi interface i became the same result. Phone is Samsung S8. I've tried at home, perhaps my neighbors Wi-Fi can interrupt the signal..
@@Litrovich If your phone can't connect try a different phone or tablet. If none connect then the problem is the drone wifi is not working.
You need to connect through phone wi-fi option first. Then start app.
@@zeljkostrazmesterov6394 i tried but connection breaked instantly. Now the problem is solwed - when i tried again outdoors without any interferences by other wi-fi nets the connection was established.

Some have a micro SD slot and others don't.
