Has anyone got this to connect to an iPhone? I can find the network FLOW_4k_xxxx but no IP is allocated so DHCP isn't working. Maybe if someone who has got it to work can check the IP address, Subnet and Server/Gateway IP addresses then I can try and manually connect?

Ordered one. It came in a reasonable amount of time. For a $30.00 (or so) drone this is a great buy. Handles well. As for the camera. NOT 4K. period. Having said that this is the BEST $30.00 camera drone I have gotten so far and I am pleased with the purchase. Our snow is gone but I have used the drone outside on bright, sunny days and haven't experienced any blown out exposures.. When I first received this unit the pictures were just 'ok' In looking at the camera I noticed there was a bluish 'film' on the lense. There was no 'tab' to aid in it's removal so I was undecided if it should come off. Throwing caution to the wind (and possibly $35.00 + ) I carefully took it off. The pictures were markedly better without the film! Should I have removed it? Only time will tell.... So far I would rate this TOY drone an A+!
A much better low light camera, but struggles in bright sunlight. Especially with snow on the ground. It is hard to retrieve information in post, if the image is blown out. Imagine it would work better, on an overcast day. Very good value for $30. Thank you captain. 😊

I wish at this drone when I started flying. Instead I bought a Cheerwing Syma X5SW and put in up in the wind a bit and could not bring it back and got stuck in a 50' oak tree. I did buy the green one and realize it's fun toy for indoors. Great stuff Steve, thanks.

Last bought mini drones some 4 yrs ago. Pretty quickly each one fell into disrepair, but I kept the bits intending to mend them one day. Saw the remnants today and thought, what's new. Your amazing vids came up on a search, this S96 seems irresistible. So now going to throw away the old rubbish, and awaiting delivery from China. How things have improved over 4yrs. Grt work sir.
I just finally got my Cetus X a couple days ago. Bought extra batteries and have been having a blast. Got a little too cocky for a minute and decided to throw it in Manual mode. I get about 2 tricks out before it goes off the rails. I went to fly forward and started hitting front flips and crashed and realized Manual means Manual… you gotta do everything. Duh. Gonna take some practice but the practice is the fun so win/win
☘️ I actually bought one after your review .. I have higher end drones but as an ornament alone it looks cool .. It nearly makes me wish DJI put in that loop feature on the Mini 2.. would be fantastic addition to the FPV mode .. also for a beginner who doesn’t want to spend a fortune it looks a great drone or to introduce your kids to flying without breaking the bank .. Hi Captain. Really enjoyed watching this mini budget drone video review. Its amazing what technology can do these days. If any of these drones had been available for Christmas back in the sixties, i would be the most popular guy at school!!. My Space Hopper and hot wheels cars didn't quite cut it 😄. After seeing your review I purchased it as my first drone. Easy to setup and fly One note, I didn’t see you remove the protective film from the front lense which make the images much clearer
Such items are always removed before reviews (since I do this for a living for many, many, many years now, it is done... kinda like putting batteries in the remote or charging up batteries... all done before hand).
Amazing how much technology you can get for $30. I'm not saying that it's a mind blowing drone or anything, but for a the price you're getting a lot. It's enough to keep a grown man busy for a while.

I bought it for the PREPPER in my blood....you know - Surveillance, Survival, Situation Awareness, etc. My grand daughters are always asking to fly it and being cautious I have not permitted this yet. SO after watching your review I purchased the S96. It Arrived today and boy is it fun. The girls will be staying with us this weekend and I can't wait to introduce it to them. I must admit that my first flights included immediate crashes into various places in my family room. ENTIRELY MT FAULT!!! I did not have one of the arms fully clicked into the proper position. DUH! Correcting this it took off and I annoyed the hell out of my wife...LOL Somehow she does not appreciate the FUN FUN FUN that I was having. Since this little guy has lights I can annoy the neighbors cats at night to keep them out of my yard. For $30 I'm thinking about buying a fleet. I wonder if more than one drone can connect to one controller? Would be cool to fly in formation to annoy the cats and my wife. Well in the end this guy is going to be more mine than the grand kids. SORRY GIRLS!
If you’re a prepper you’d know your dji drone relies on technology that would be obsolete come a disaster or apocalypse. It’ll be useless. Just like a cell phone. Id recommend an older dji like the phantom 2. I have one. Can attach a new go pro. Whatever you want. Flies using rc. No WiFi no satellites needed
That Hassle-Bad camera is a bit of a Rorschach test but as you said, what do you want for $30? I've seen several others that are close to $200 that weren't much better.
If you want to learn to fly drone or have fun flying one.. beginner drone would be nice.. and i hope they stop the false advertisement.. My first drone was E88 and it helped me familiarize myself to the drone
Couple of things to add to your very thorough review. The camera seems to be overly sensitive to light although the snow reflects so much light as to be a distraction. Not a fair contrast assessment. There may be a way to adjust that. Your living room is very low contrast and probably not the best to use in a camera demonstration. The end table lights somewhat blend with the light blue wall and the de-saturated couch. The only thing in the living room frame with any contrast are your side pillows and even then, they are low contrast colors. The camera did okay with the inside flight where we see a fluted door frame in more natural lighting. Cheap cameras often do better in natural, bright light. I agree that the customer gets a lot of features in this drone but it's use is limited to very specific environments for the best picture. Thanks again.

@@Cypher81 The FPV is a very different style of drone. FPV drones are more about action shots with low flying. Zoom belongs more with the GPS drones like your Mavic series drones but even then, most of them still only have digital zoom.

I have been interested in getting a drone but really don't want to spend a lot of money on one because I have rubbish coordination. I can see this one being a useful thing for me to see how I get one, whether I can control one and whether I can stay interested enough to buy myself something more expensive . If it turns out that it's not my thing after all, it won't give me financial nightmares when I donate it to a local charity shop or give it to some kid. Thank you so much for making these videos.
I was excited about the review on this drone. I have 2 DJI drones that I can't fly at my house because I live too close to 2 major airports. I ordered what I thought was the same one that you reviewed. It said 2 cameras in the add and that I could upgrade to 2 4K cameras for $10 more. It arrived yesterday and the model I received was different than the one you got. Only a forward pointing camera installed without the downward pointing camera and the one I got does not snap into the controller like in your review. Also one of the batteries was in 2 pieces and I had to snap it together. It flies fine and I am happy with that, but I do feel a little like it was a bait and switch.

Im going to order one friday, just what I needed in a cheap drone, Im only about 6 months into this world, started with a mavic air that lasted 5 flights before I had it fall to its death, replaced with a spark that flew off first flight due to wind, I got a "cheap" drone at next a vti fpv duo which i was just getting comfortable with, took it off a mountain said and couldnt get it back 3rd drone down.... This will be perfect! a decent little drone that wont make me sick to my stomach if or when something happens to it and can be replaced until im not a total failure of a pilot. THANK YOU
Absolutely not, the mini 3 pro is an amazing drone and this is a cheap 30$ drone toy. With the mini 3 pro you get cinema quality video so if anything it’s a giant downgrade.

All this for around $30 seems pretty cool for what you get. You can't goo wrong Silly me brought a DJi Phantom 4 that cost about $1500 at the time.Being so expensive i hardly ever flew it for risk of damaging it and after a few months left in the case,the batteries discharged and don't respond. Captain, Do i buy another expensive battery or just cut my loss and move on with something else? Cheers.

Yes it goes to show how little the cost is to produce various vehicles throughout the hobby nowadays, just imagine the 1000 dollars traxxas charges for an x-maxx, makes ya realize they probably cost them 50 bucks to make.

Bought the S98 version simply out of curiosity; did not expect much for that price. I may just have received a defective unit, but the one I got was impossible to calibrate or control, and dangerous for any kid or adult. Would like to hear from others who have purchased the S96 or S98. What are your experiences?
These things are simple to fly as long as you have hand/eye coordination. Thousands have flown this one with no issues. If your drone does not hover, read the manual and locate the button you press prior to take off to calibrate the gyro. Also check your props to make certain they are not chipped or bent.
if i wanted to spend a bit more is there a sort of slightly upper level brother that's also sort of simple/cheap like this one but maybe say at double the price has enough extra value? Either picture or height or flight duration or some reason to spend a bit more? say the $60-70 price range? Thanks.

I got elective amputation of my right arm due to paralysis from very severe nerve damage and I always wondered if I could operate a drone with left arm and hand only. I rode many motorcycles though after some modding of controls and moving everything to left handle bar. Wrote many drone related sites for advice but never got an answer except for ppl trying to sell me stuff-- lol. Anyway I guess it's like riding motorcycles-- I'm going to have to break off $30 from my very generous $800/month Government check and see. What's the worst that could happen??
I think you need to learn how to fly a drone with the joysticks. The right joystick is your forward/back/left/right, so control the drone on takeoff with that joystick.
Got my drone today, it's fun, but mine doesnt seem to fly as good as yours. Maybe i need to calibrate it better. I will keep playin around with it. Thanks for the video.
Keep in mind I’m a pro and fly drones in my sleep so anything I touch will look simple and smooth to others. Keep practicing and you’ll get it flying well.
STRUCK.... You are describing $1000 DJI drones. That is where the market is... people want "Turn Key" drones that you take out of a box, power on and go fly the same day with no experience. That is the present and the future. Perhaps you are thinking of FPV Drones where there is no assistance?
@@ATF2099 Kids will learn..... So would you buy a 7 or 8yr old child a drone with no obstacle avoidance and spend a lot of money on it, knowing it will smash into a wall or tree when they are trying to learn control movements?
Got this for my little brother to fly and it is fantastic, so freakin easy to connect to which was the clincher. Best budget drone hands down
very bad, doesn't connect to wifi, connected once, and never again it showed up in my wifi networks list, also the Obstacle avoidance head popped out

I agree this one seems to be better than the other one. I have a nice high-quality camera drone but I'm tempted to buy this one just to play with.

It's to do with the white balance in the camera, which can be altered after in editing or digitally in the camera somehow I imagine.
We are doomed. No way to compete with that price. I would like to see what this company could offer for $300 US. Nice review Captain.!

My 1k drone dont have zoom so that's good😅for 30$. Great video again capitain love the hour you upload it thanks for the work you do on your videos🫡👍🦾
Digital zoom isn't really a feature since even if your don't doesn't have a zoom as you claim, you can just zoom in post as it is identical.

I have been interested in getting a drone but really don't want to spend a lot of money on one because I have rubbish coordination. I can see this one being a useful thing for me to see how I get one, whether I can control one and whether I can stay interested enough to buy myself something more expensive . If it turns out that it's not my thing after all, it won't give me financial nightmares when I donate it to a local charity shop or give it to some kid.

I was excited about the review on this drone. I have 2 DJI drones that I can't fly at my house because I live too close to 2 major airports. I ordered what I thought was the same one that you reviewed. It said 2 cameras in the add and that I could upgrade to 2 4K cameras for $10 more. It arrived yesterday and the model I received was different than the one you got. Only a forward pointing camera installed without the downward pointing camera and the one I got does not snap into the controller like in your review. Also one of the batteries was in 2 pieces and I had to snap it together. It flies fine and I am happy with that, but I do feel a little like it was a bait and switch.
I'm not sure what the heck Banggood is doing there.

I can't check out because "0 pcs left for deals price." It's in stock. The non-deal price (MSRP) is $62.99, with no clear way to order it at that price, which I wouldn't pay. More Bait and Switch.

Just received 2 of these. Tried 1 out seemed OK lights was flashing the whole time and can't tell if the batteries are charging...
You earned yourself a subscriber with this video. Im going to order one friday, just what I needed in a cheap drone, Im only about 6 months into this world, started with a mavic air that lasted 5 flights before I had it fall to its death, replaced with a spark that flew off first flight due to wind, I got a "cheap" drone at next a vti fpv duo which i was just getting comfortable with, took it off a mountain said and couldnt get it back 3rd drone down.... This will be perfect! a decent little drone that wont make me sick to my stomach if or when something happens to it and can be replaced until im not a total failure of a pilot. THANK YOU

I doubt if obstacle avoidance will work much in much light, it is infrared.

Absolutely not, the mini 3 pro is an amazing drone and this is a cheap 30$ drone toy. With the mini 3 pro you get cinema quality video so if anything it’s a giant downgrade.
To a 10 yr old this is top shelf!
And at that price I won't swim in regret when said 10yr destroys it.

Silly me brought a DJi Phantom 4 that cost about $1500 at the time.Being so expensive i hardly ever flew it for risk of damaging it and after a few months left in the case,the batteries discharged and don't respond.

I think you can still buy DJI Phantom 4 batteries, but they are expensive.

Yes it goes to show how little the cost is to produce various vehicles throughout the hobby nowadays, just imagine the 1000 dollars traxxas charges for an x-maxx, makes ya realize they probably cost them 50 bucks to make.

Bought the S98 version simply out of curiosity; did not expect much for that price. I may just have received a defective unit, but the one I got was impossible to calibrate or control, and dangerous for any kid or adult. Would like to hear from others who have purchased the S96 or S98. What are your experiences?
These things are simple to fly as long as you have hand/eye coordination. Thousands have flown this one with no issues. If your drone does not hover, read the manual and locate the button you press prior to take off to calibrate the gyro. Also check your props to make certain they are not chipped or bent.
if i wanted to spend a bit more is there a sort of slightly upper level brother that's also sort of simple/cheap like this one but maybe say at double the price has enough extra value? For double the price, you won’t get double the quality. You’d have to triple the price for that.

I got elective amputation of my right arm due to paralysis from very severe nerve damage and I always wondered if I could operate a drone with left arm and hand only. I rode many motorcycles though after some modding of controls and moving everything to left handle bar.
Wrote many drone related sites for advice but never got an answer except for ppl trying to sell me stuff-- lol. Anyway I guess it's like riding motorcycles-- I'm going to have to break off $30 from my very generous $800/month Government check and see. What's the worst that could happen??

I think you need to learn how to fly a drone with the joysticks. The right joystick is your forward/back/left/right, so control the drone on takeoff with that joystick.
Got my drone today, it's fun, but mine doesnt seem to fly as good as yours. Maybe i need to calibrate it better. I will keep playin around with it. Thanks for the video.
Keep in mind I’m a pro and fly drones in my sleep so anything I touch will look simple and smooth to others. Keep practicing and you’ll get it flying well.

STRUCK.... You are describing $1000 DJI drones. That is where the market is... people want "Turn Key" drones that you take out of a box, power on and go fly the same day with no experience. That is the present and the future. Perhaps you are thinking of FPV Drones where there is no assistance?
@@ATF2099 Kids will learn..... So would you buy a 7 or 8yr old child a drone with no obstacle avoidance and spend a lot of money on it, knowing it will smash into a wall or tree when they are trying to learn control movements?
