Imagine sitting in those old cigarette smoke filled Picture Palaces and watching this, ALL SINGING, ALL DANCING!!!!. From 'Going Hollywood', always, I associate with Crosby. ENCHANTING 'HOT' ENDING. BRILLIANT!!!. Many thanks.

Maureen had a look all her own. I'll take a 1930's dancer with her low kicks and staggered twirls any day. Even the bad dancers of the 30's conveyed sweetness and delight- something the male audience eats right up. I just yawn at the acrobatic crap of the 40's after a while. BTW, TCM has very little 1940's musicals on their broadcast, so if you watch this channel you might be amazed at a world of great movies opening up to you, including yummy ones like this.

Yes, he does sound like Art Jarret who sings a song in the Gable-Crawford film from 1933 "Dancing Lady."

You are right, I love Bing, but prefer this version. Wish we could see the whole picture!

So the number is "Beautiful Girl," the dancer is Maureen O'Sullivan. What's the name of this PICTURE?

He certainly SOUNDS like Art Jarrett but it's not him; you can see him in Joan Crawford's 1933 film DANCING LADY
