From the Mets as far as Pete Alonso it should be 4 yrs or it’s nothing and then put a 48 hour time limit on it. Enough dithering around. You can’t let Boras control the clock here.
I feel like that is there plan. I don’t think they want Alonso now bc they have their eyes on Guerrero next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if Soto has a wink wink understanding with Vlad that they both go there.
Well that's really depressing for Mets fans and if you're counting on an almost 400 pound guy to a long term contract, good luck with that lol. You really think that will work out in the end for them hahaha? Soto will be a DH in a few years because of his poor defense abilities. You think Vlady will be any different? Go ahead go nuts.
@@StateoftheFranchiseGaming cheap owners lmao the Mets just signed an absolute garbage pitcher with a 5.26 era to a 4.5 million dollar one year contract.
Alonso over estimated his worth, despite being 2nd in homers to Judge, in last 5 seasons. His fielding metrics are abysmal, and that is just one of many reasons, he now won't come close to that $158 the Mets offered him.
Who advised Alonso to get Boras as his agent?? Doesn't he have an advisor, a wife or parents?? Didn't anyone teach him about greed?? Doesn't he have eyes to see what are the rewards of chasing the wind? Omfg
The Mets set their ceiling with last year’s offer, and they now have less competition. Teams don’t want to get involved knowing the Mets can just beat the offer. Now, the Mets deal will be lower. I would no longer be surprised if the Mets are in on both Alonzo and Bregman.
Boris over playing his hand. The owners are not wanting this crippling long term deals anymore. Can’t blame them. No players should be paid till they are 40 in MLB. ITS ALWAYS BAD
Are you dense? You realize he’s had like 7-8 high end free agents sign already right??? And every single one of them matched or exceeded expectations on their contract. Have you missed the entire offseason???
@ Look up last year dopey. What other of his clients this off season have signed to a big number? List please. Bregman, Alonso & Burns all with no deal. Explain that.
@@jogumby he literally said Soto was the exception. There are countless other examples of Boras clients signing. Where teams dealt with him. Are you also dense?
@ who cares about last year lol the “Boras 4” all had massive red flags, had nothing to do with their agent. You clearly don’t follow baseball. And you’ve clearly been asleep the last month. Boras has signed Soto, Snell, Kikuchi, Montas, Boyd, Conforto all to contracts at or ABOVE expectations. There was a BIDDING WAR for MULTIPLE Boras clients. Get a clue dude, you’re such a casual. Didn’t even mention the massive Matt Chapman extension signed at the end of the season 😂
Honestly i feel like Bregman really wanted to stay in Houston and he fucked up. I get wanting to make money, especially when teams over the last few years have been burning money like crazy on equal players. But Boras is most likely feeding a bunch of false hope and broken promises
Bregman made a big mistake, should have stayed in Houston. No way whatever park he goes to will be as good as MM was for him. Without the CBoxes he would barely have HRs.

Vladdy G would fit perfect in the Phillies line up. Maybe he signs an extension n the Phillies trade them Bohm, Suarez, Abel, Caba, Rincones. Blue Gays would get Starting lefty pitcher Starting 3b Future SS in Caba. Obv i'm wishing n this won't happen, but i could dream right?
Dodgers fans jumping all over Teoscar. Sad. He had a pretty fine season for them, but you'd rather keep Muncy. Hernandez wants to be paid. Suddenly Dodgers trying to sign a good player on the cheap. Conforto won't be as good as him.
Dallas Keuchel sat at home as a free agent for a long time after boras convinced him he was worth more when his Astros contract was up. He never again was the same unfortunately
If the Cubs are serious about contending this year with Tucker on board. The Cubs should: Sign Bregman to a similar 2 yr (option) $28M Bellinger got. Matt Shaw to 2B. Trade Nico Hoerner to SEA/NYY for Pitching.
What's the market like for Teoscar Hernandez? Rosenthal is reporting that the Dodgers are moving away due to an impasse in negotiations. His agent is Republik Sports.
Cubs should sign all these guys and I got a plan 😅😂😂. We have 50mil to spend. Ace Corbin Burnes wants to come back to the NL Central and be with Manager Craig Counsell. 3yrs 100mil with opt outs like Bellinger got. 33mil per. You're then gonna trade Tailion and his 17mil and get Great prospects for the Starter. 67mil-33mil leaves 34mil. You're then trading Suzuki and his $$$ for more top prospects (Yes this team already has 8 of the Top 50😅) but then signing Pete Alonso to be DH instead of Suzuki and again, walking away with more great prospects. Alonso 27mil per 4years. Not done. Alcantara a top prospect is sent for Closer Jhoan Duran to help them clear money. I'll then ok Nico and his 10mil to Seattle along with a few of these prospects we traded for for another Elite SP cost controlled. You then play Matt Shaw at 2B and can sign 3B Bergman while building the greatest farm ever which, pretty sure they already have.
Burnes will be fine since the pitching market has been robust - his contract just might be closer to Fried due to no Yankees involved + concerns about declining stuff. Bregman and Alonso, on the other hand, will need to adjust their expectations down. Walker getting 3 for 60 million is a bad sign for Alonso. He probably falls around 100 million at this point.
Boras is doing the job his clients hired him to do, get them the most money he can. The players need to rtemember that he works for them, not vice-versa. Snell did that and got a contract with the team he wanted to sign with before Thanksgiving.
Why haven't Corbin Burnes still signed with the Mets yet? Steve Cohen must offer an insane contract to Corbin Burnes. Steve needs to offer a boatload of money to Kyle Tucker and Vladimir Guerrero Jr next year. Steve only got Juan Soto, that's it? Pass on Alonso and wait for Vladimir Guerrero Jr or sign Luis Arraez.
"K rate" = more analytics bs. 1) Is he durable? Yes! 2) Does he get guys out? Yes! If anything, the fact that he remains effective as he ages despite a lower strikeout rate is a GOOD thing because it tells you that he is a pitcher, not just a thrower.
@ nah not analytics…just reality…he’s getting older..less K’s more balls in play…def durable tho…and I’d def take him but if you think he’s gonna be good any more than a ha Dillon years you’re in for a surprise..again, downturn is upon us
@@dreshaftno it’s not BS. The data shows trends. When a pitcher K rate starts to dip then it’s normally a precursor to a drop in production. Are there outliers? Yeah but this is the most common outcome.
@WeBeatMedicare6969 I get what both of you are saying, but he is still young and doesn't have an injury history, so I'm not concerned with k rate. Also more strikeouts necessitate more pitches, which leads to starters not going as deep into games, which means less innings pitched over the course of a season. So I'm never going to have a problem with a pitcher that pitches to contact. Also, there were alot of people advocating signing Blake Snell, which is crazy to me because even on a shorter contract, he is finishing it older than Corbin Burnes would at the end of a longer deal. Combined with the fact that Snell has been less consistent, has an injury history and doesn't go as deep into games. Long-term deals for pitchers are definitely risky, but I would be comfortable doing it for Burnes
