Steamer projects Ryan Mountcastle with a 2025 on-base percentage of .311, which would almost certainly drop below .300 in Seattle. Note the OBP drops by recent Seattle acquisitions Jorge Polanco, Mitch Garver, Kolten Wong, Adam Frazier and Teoscar Hernandez. Mountcastle could be the second coming of Ryon Healy, whom the Athletics traded to the Mariners in the 2017-18 offseason. Luis Castillo is likely to open the 2025 season in the Seattle rotation.
It's literally why it hasn't happened, my guy. Ryan Divish reported the Ms rejected a 1 to 1 swap for Casas. Pitching is at a premium, and while Castillo isn't a Cy young candidate or anything, he's worth more than a guy as unproven as Casas.
We’re not delusional, we just don’t value casas the way y’all do, 1st baseman aren’t that valuable and he’s already hurt all the time at 24 and we have Luke Raley who’s basically basically is a healthier and better version of casas. We need an all star 3rd baseman
@willpina have you seen the money absolutely terrible pitchers are getting right now? Castillos contract isn't terrible at all. He had a down year and was still better than the red sox's entire rotation other than a out of nowhere career year from tanner houck.
Come on, Jim! Luis Castillo isn't a front of rotation arm. He's had some decent years, but his career W-L is sub-.500, and he went 8-16 in 2021. The Orioles need to add a top-end starter, and he's more back end; to think otherwise requires wearing rose-colored glasses and squinting at the same time. I truly hope Mike Elias doesn't lose his mind and make that deal.
Good number 2 or three starter. Era always around 3.30 to 3.60. Your team could sure use him. With good hitting and fielding behind him could win 16 to 18 games.
He is a extremely good starting pitcher borderline All-Star when he is on his game plus given his production. His contract is extremely good because inferior pitchers are getting more money like I do not think his trade is enough but I’ll still do it because we need the money unfortunately

Jimmy when you going realize braves not doing a damn thang?
You don’t understand positional value: 1st base is so much lower than pitchers just look at the contracts. M’s need more or should I say different. Mayo for Castillo and tai peet
Cubs just fix the bullpen. Love Tanner Scott. Kirby Yates too.
No way Padres go for that 💩
Rather see the O's get Miller over Castillo because of the 5yrs control.
That would cost a lot more than the trade mentioned here - likely Westburg+
I’m not completely against that as a mariner fan but in return it’s going to have to be a King’s ransom that the O’s would never do
@@sadmarinersfan8935 The Orioles have some other good prospects that they would consider if Miller is better, but who knows.
@@kensilverstone1656 i would guess the M’s would not want prospects tho like for Miller I would want at least Westburg and Mountcastle if not more and do the Orioles really get any better if they do that they probably get worse and we have no replacement pitcher Also because there is no guarantees, we can sign Sasaki I’m more hopeful than I was, but I’m still not expecting it to happen
ok. Lets do Miller for mountcastle, fabio, pick. 😂 😂
How is Arizona not in on any of the pitchers? Top offense and bottom of the league pitching
Probably because their stuck with the Montgomery and Rodriguez contracts
@ seems there should be a trade in there somewhere. Use some offense to move a bad pitching contract to bring in a pitching improvement. They don’t need aces, they just need a couple guys that aren’t really bad.
Maybe if y’all actually sold out that stadium yall would have money to spend this year lol
@ I’m not an Arizona fan, but I don’t see them filling that stadium without upgrading the pitching.
Yep Mets good with canning. We don’t need any trades. Lol. Getting tired of these project Hail Mary signings. Why spent 800M if u need bargains on every other player. Makes no sense
Does Jim get money from BTV? Because the baseball industry laughs at that site. And thinks anybody who references it doesn't know baseball.
Mountcastle can’t play OF
Steamer projects Ryan Mountcastle with a 2025 on-base percentage of .311, which would almost certainly drop below .300 in Seattle.
Ms fans are so delusional. They actually think that Casas is not enough for Castillo and that's the reason why the trade hasn't happened
@@BigAngryRacoonlol
@@BigAngryRacoon there is zero chance that the Ms rejected a 1 for 1 of Casas for Castillo, unless the Red Sox wanted $20M also.
@willpina have you seen the money absolutely terrible pitchers are getting right now? Castillos contract isn't terrible at all. He had a down year and was still better than the red sox's entire rotation other than a out of nowhere career year from tanner houck.
Let's goooooooooooo
Dude is a fool lol
Come on, Jim! Luis Castillo isn't a front of rotation arm. He's had some decent years, but his career W-L is sub-.500, and he went 8-16 in 2021. The Orioles need to add a top-end starter, and he's more back end; to think otherwise requires wearing rose-colored glasses and squinting at the same time. I truly hope Mike Elias doesn't lose his mind and make that deal.
Dude. Stop looking at wins and losses. They do not matter
W-L is reflection of offensive support he had. I’m not even mariner fan and I know they were one of the worst in the league in slugging
Good number 2 or three starter. Era always around 3.30 to 3.60. Your team could sure use him. With good hitting and fielding behind him could win 16 to 18 games.
Imagine using wins in 2024. Bet you thought Rick Porcello deserved the cy young
He is a extremely good starting pitcher borderline All-Star when he is on his game plus given his production. His contract is extremely good because inferior pitchers are getting more money like I do not think his trade is enough but I’ll still do it because we need the money unfortunately
Dodgers rotation is not the best in the NL. Is that a joke ? I’ll take Braves all day.
Lol dodgers much better
I despise the Dodgers, but unfortunately they are when healthy although i could see Pittsburgh being close on that soon
