I remember feeling like this when I was a teenager watching OPtion/Drift Tengoku VHS tapes from Japan and planning what I wanted to do when I "grew up"...then I let the dream get away from me. He's living his dream.

Rotary engines use an eccentric or output shaft rather than a crankshaft which is geared in such a manner as to provide one power pulse per revolution, with 3 revolutions per one revolution of each rotor, so your statement in that regard is partially correct. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wankel_engine
