The thumbnail of you peering up over the edge of the table at your very scary new journal gave me a badly needed laugh. Thanks! (Also, the content of the video was great...but I expected that, because you.)
I love the idea of the “intentional mistake”! My mom was a quilter, and she told me about the “humble block.” That’s an intentional mistake in Amish quilts, because only G*d is perfect and humans shouldn’t try to be :)
I’ve had my long term collections journal sat on my desk looking at me for months now and I still haven’t started it. I’m not so bad with my usual journal as it feels more of a working document, but this is something I want to keep for a long time as a reference so feels like it should be special 🫣
I feel you 👏 that’s why I made my LTC nice and simple to set up so I could keep the same “aesthetic” throughout and make the setup more approachable for me 😝
Love this video! You're so good at addressing things that (I think) are general struggles for people. I appreciate that you come from a very realistic place. Thank you so much.
I started my first bujo in an old notebook I had lying around. I told myself if I enjoyed this process and kept up with it for a month I would buy myself a new a5 notebook. This took off the pressure of FOMU. Seven notebooks later I no longer care if I mess up, I just turn the page.
Totally agree. I did it in an ugly cheap exercise book that cost me like 1€ and I stuck it out. It's literally a train wreck of a journal but I learned so much and my current journal is simple but looks nice
LOOOVE how helpful this is! Even as a bullet journalist in her 5th year of bullet journaling, I still get major new bujo anxiety. Will be recommending this video! Also, your thumbnail cracks me up 😂 Amazing work Jess!
Thank you very much for the helpful video. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist. Your moon and stars notebook is absolutely gorgeous!! 🤩✨️✨️ I love anything celestial. New subscriber!
I was today years old when I made the connection that the metric side of the ruler (that I as an American, never use) matches up with the dot grid that's printed in the journal🤯😅🤦♀
Luckily most of our standard rulers here have inches on one side and cm on the other, so I can just flip it and use cm side when I'm using a dot grid notebook!
If I weren't filming my setups, I'd start ~planning~ a new setup around 1-2 weeks before I want to start using the journal. Gives me plenty of time to figure out what I want/need, find inspo, and set it up. Because I film mine though, I tend to add another week or 2 on top of that (depending on what time of year I'm setting up the journal)
This is my number one struggle. I’ve settled on an R&D Notebook like you have to practice and play around with layouts before I fully commit. 🤣
Sounds like a system that works though 💪
how does this channel not have a million subs? your content is fabulous, and honestly so helpful for a newbie!
Haha thanks! 😄 Glad you like the videos 💪💜
Pilot makes erasable pens called Pilot Frixion, and you can get them in colors as well as clicker or capped style.

Glad you liked the thumbnail 😂 You should have seen some of the other dumb facials I pulled when trialling them 😝

A good place to start! 😄💜 and I agree, the pressure certainly lessened the more I’ve journaled too 👏

These 7 tips, Thank you so very much. You are a blessing. I love watching you.
Thanks Amy! Glad you liked them! 😄💜
I love the idea of a mess up/scribble page in the back!
I find it particularly useful for when any of my pens aren't being cooperative and need to be scribbled with too 😝

It's a handy way to measure up the number of boxes in a section, yeah! 😄💜

When in the year should you start planning a new journal set up?
