Som Tam really is a GOAT dish! Just spent four months in Thailand and ate this every other day (both original versions and also with noodles). Love Som Tam in most of its variations (only Som Tam Lao with fermented crabs I'm not yet too fond of 😅). I actually bought a Lao mortar some years ago and made Som Tam over here at home a couple of times but unfortunately green papayas here now cost a fortune after covid. 😭

I'm your old time Brit, dont like chilli, garlic and coriander is soapy. Yet I like the look of the recipe Cher. When it comes to such recipes does substituting bell pepper work or is it a heat recipe?
How is this school of wok when a wok wasn't used? You should just rebrand yourself as school of Dutch oven or school of green egg. Who cares! There's no consistency!

It's very spicy 😅
It needs Thai chillies and garlic otherwise don't bother. You can vary the amounts to taste but leave them out and it would not be nice.
