There's a reason are non stop lines at these places - they really are the best. Modern has a unique flavor to the dough that none of the others have but the ingredients all around are top notch- sauce and cheese are second to none - owner is a great dude and time stand still here year after year- the look of the building in and out and the consistency of the pizza, all contribute to why this one is number 1.
Yes had it for the first time a few weeks ago and thought wow what a shame I’m just finding out about Zuppardi’s now. Love his reviews - definitely love the fact that he’s from the UK - really fun to watch - and how much he’s enjoying himself. Definitely subscribed!
You can *hear* the elegance of crisp tear and crunch of the crust rim and layers of quality just there, and how he is overfilled with emotion about to cry.
Loving this new style of content from New Haven, its not just the food but the history and allowing the owners to showcase how proud they are of their heritage and products, shame you didn't get too much of that from this one compared to the previous two though but they were probably in their peak serving period, also everyone seems so friendly there even the other punters, unlike the miserable lot in Blighty, Those coal fired ovens are something else, can't imagine them being allowed in the UK now though, the carbon footprint, eco warriors kicking off etc Eagerly looking forward to NYC part 2 😎 Keep up the great work guys 👌
For those of you in other countries, there is good pizza to be found elsewhere but in my 60+ years of eating pizza around the world there is nothing better than pizza in the NE US (and partic New Haven). People often bring up Italy, and good pizza can be found in Italy but after eating dozens of pies over the years in Rome, Napoli, Milano, Pulia..I’ve never had a pizza in Italy that compares favorably to New Haven’s best.
Just started watching your channel 2 days ago. As a Brit in the UK, I need to avoid the wheels of sadness and try Vincenzo's. Envy your food tour. But I want to see Callum being fed.
I live 28 miles north of New Haven and I've only ever been to Pepe's two times many years ago. I don't go to New Haven that much. A few weeks ago, I went to Grand Apizza in Clinton Connecticut and I think it is owned by a relative who owns Modern Apizza and it was one of the best pizza's I've ever had! My mother is also from Cambridge England. She was born there.
Looks fantastic. Loving the New Haven content. I know you are more of a thin crust pizza lover, but I would love to see more reviews of the Chicago style Pizza pies as they are my favourite style personally. Get yourself over that way, it’s only a 12 hour drive 😉
Matt like I said with your first pizza tour here , the N East ( NY - NJ - CONN ) has some of if not the best pizza in the world. You gotta hit my home city Paterson in New Jersey for Patsy’s.
Welcome to my city. They food in general in New Haven is excellent. I wish someone made a video on the hidden gems in New Haven. I’m subscribing. At Modern the best pizza is called an Italian bomb.
Looked great, seeing as you are in usa how about some bbq, there are loads in Connecticut, hoodoo browns looks good but expensive I'm sure a local could point somewhere out.
Did you guys take the commuter train (MetroNorth)? That's probably the slowest way to go go. The Amtrak Regional train between New York and New Haven is also pretty slow. There's a high speed/express train called the Acela which is faster. If you want to save the most money Megabus or other discount bus lines run between New York and New Haven as well.
I'm originally from New Haven, Connecticut but live down in Florida now. Can't find any good pizza down here and I have it ordered online from Sally's and modern and there's a lot of other great ones like zoo parties is almost 100 years old and a lot of other ones in the little towns off of New Haven in New Haven county. Best pizza in the world ever. Also bar pizza and one other thing you forgot to try is the first hamburger at louis lunch over 100 years old
Your reviews and content are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and your personality BROTHER is amazing... This is the number 1 food channel... Please go Pakistan hands down you won't be disappointed ... 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would love to see you doing something like your namesake Best Ever Food Review Show ... Eating tarantulas, rats, and generally taboo foods in various far flung places, but also interacting with tribal peoples cooking for you.
Come to Chicago: Al's vs. Johnny's vs. Portillos vs. Bouna beef for Italian Beef comparison. You will not be disappointed. While your here get a Lou Malnatis deep dish.
Matt lad while you're over there take a trip down to Philadelphia for a Cheesesteak, don't go for Pat's or Geno's the tourist traps,Dellasandros,Angelos or Jim's to name three
I found Modern apizza easily superior to Sally's. The sauce at Modern had better seasoning and the crust was thicker and chewy-er which I prefer. Service at Modern was prompt and very friendly, while Sally's was very slow and apathetic.
Thought he was ordering tennis rackets for a minute 🤣🤣
New Haven born and bred. Come back anytime! I’d be happy to show you around to even more pizza
Another fantastic review. Keep up the great work boys
Nice one Vince! X

Amazing video mate , you 2 guys are smashing it with your video always like watching them
Glad you are enjoying this new style!
Great video, if you ever go back there, Zuppardi’s in West Haven is a must do, especially their sausage and their white clam abeetz.
Disappointing flop

Top work guys keep these vlogs coming. That food looks insanely good and out of this world bro😉👍
That pizza looks incredible
Went there back in April as soon as I landed from Manchester.
Definitely the best food reviews on RUclips 🇬🇧😎🔥🔥🔥🔥👊
Looks absolutely lovely Matt fair play great content as usual channel is definitely coming on well done guys.
Thank you very much
Great video guys. That Apizza looks fabulous

that is Gragnano Pizza Style ( the area from where our compatriots came ....) and developed in Legion of Calabria,Lazio,Tuscany .... either in Usa ;)
Briliant lads!! Can I request you try Di Fara, Lucali, Luigis and Prince Street :)

Same here. I honestly didn't think much of pizza in Italy at all.🤷🏼♀️

Solid blister on the roof of your mouth the next for not waiting for the pizza to cool a bit. But well worth it !
9.3 for the flop and char! Loving this trip you're on (and the content!) and what great people there!
Mate. I’m from WARBOYS. Love your videos young man.

@@johnbradshaw6802 Ok….but I’m talking about deep pan…
More to come!
Getting addicted to you and your channel so here you have a new sub from Quebec !

Makes me think the general pizza scene is DEAD compared to the states bro looked a banger that ❤️😎👊👍
Looked great, seeing as you are in usa how about some bbq, there are loads in Connecticut, hoodoo browns looks good but expensive I'm sure a local could point somewhere out.
Hoodoo is great but you have to head south and west for legit bbq each region has its own style, Hoodoo is Texas style and good but Texas is better
So Sally's score was 10.0. Modern 9.1 and Pepe's 8.4. All good scores. I agree with your 1, 2, 3 ranking.
10 does not exist simply because there no where togo when the next better food comes along.
@@soapyvanshoey3179No worries, there won’t be a better pizza than Sally’s. Not on this planet…
Excellent train review
😂 appreciate you
Indian Japan Blackpool had me in tears
😂😂😂
This pizza looks like the tastiest one so far on your USA pizza tour 😊🤩
Sally's looked better

That's exactly how I like my pizza absolutely slapped with cheese.
The ONLY way 📈📈📈

Are you doing Zupardi's?
I also suggest Zupardi's in West Haven, I grew up eating at all those places
My favorite is bacon and onion at Modern
Great personality!
I live right around the corner from this joint. Believe me when I tell you it lives up to the hype
The Thomas the Tank Engine comparisons 😂😂. You absolute legends!
Honestly it was so slow… 😂
Your reviews and content are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and your personality BROTHER is amazing... This is the number 1 food channel... Please go Pakistan hands down you won't be disappointed ... 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Now that's a pizza ❤️
The pizza oven should have a rotating stone so when your pizza comes back around to the door it's ready (in an ideal world) 👌💯
Interesting!
Dave Portsoy has piled on the weight 😆
And had a nose job by the looks of it.
I bet you can't wait till Archie and you do pizza
‘There’s a herb in there’ oh no I’m in America ‘there’s a errrrb in there’ 14:29

'Mans', 'bruv', 'spud', 'bosh'

1 million subs..on the way
Probably wouldn’t flop if the slices were wider . Looks magic
Fair point for sure!
@@FoodReviewClubUK better pizza in England.
Wow that cheese and the char amazing ❤
I live in Witchford near Ely so not far from you, I love pizza yum yum
Thank you for being here Tracey ❤️

Callum...."And it's a door".😅
Can't wait to see NYC Round 2!
Less pizzas! More history and content
How does this compare to Johns of Bleeker st?
Thank you, I'm a local of New Haven....best pizza in the states!!
The comment about the train will resonate with everyone on the coast in ct. there’s another even slower one that takes you the rest of the way…
😂😂😂
we have the best pizza... NY NJ CT... not even close.. and then you can get into the clam pies...
Big up from Birmingham 😂👊🏽
Greetings from poland geezer.
Ahhhh thank you for being here 🎉
it interesting how america calls them pies instead of pizza😮 this look amazing pizza
Wow that looks dough good.........
Really really good!!!
Great video lads 👌
Well now I want modern!! I live close and usually go to Franks.
Modern Apizza is amazingly delicious
Professional tip if you let it cool it gets crispy
Looks delicious 🍕😋
Modern is the absolute BEST of all.
Hello
Great content
A perfect 10 pizza for me i've had it
Need to try divardi`s Walkden in greater Manchester trust me one of the best around in the North
Come to Chicago: Al's vs. Johnny's vs. Portillos vs. Bouna beef for Italian Beef comparison. You will not be disappointed. While your here get a Lou Malnatis deep dish.
Is there no kebabs out their matt I love a pizza and kebab but I was just wondering if you've been a kebab house yet
Coming soon!
@@FoodReviewClubUK I think I know where but wont spoil it.
That's the sort of pizza that burns the crap out of the roof of your mouth. Looks absolutely bangin' though.
Need some big American bbq ✌️❤️
Which Vincenzo Pizza did you mean
If you've not already been corrected, Gordon was the express train so one of the fastest trains on Sodor 😂
haha i did
One bite, everybody knows the rules.
Before I watch this thank you ❤
Modern Pizza is the best.
You got to try a kebab van called Oscar’s in quedgeley Gloucestershire mate you will not be disappointed.
Modern is the best pizza in New Haven hands down, Tipsy Tomato in Derby might be the best in the state though
If back in New York do a burger from jg melon or Peter luger or a pizza from Luigi please.
Please try zuppardi's pizza! Amazing vídeos! Thanks a lot!!
Vids are fire
Pretty sure there’s a megabus from manhattan to conneticut
Chicago next boys! Complete change up of style…. Plus the amazing hotdogs.
That would be mega!!!

All trash though there's better cheesesteaks in England.
@@mrtibbz10 are you high? Where exactly in England??
John's does a good steak too.

12,000 pizzas a week
@ £20 a pizza is £240,000 a week?
Surely thats not right
Bring Callum to Norwich just for that comment 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
We in the West make superior pizza, Chinese style and Indian curry and yes. Pineapple does go on pizza.
I watch numerous eating challenge views I absolutely love it but no one does it quiteime molly in terms of speed on another level you goooo girrrl
I’ve got bum wee just looking at the amount of cheese on that !
😊😊😊
What’s a bum wee?
@John Bradshaw lol basically diarrhea kid. The shits
Great pizza. Only Sally's tops it for me.
