  • In this recipe, I will show you how to make an Asian-Style BBQ sauce. This homemade BBQ sauce recipe is easy to make and is great on the grill.     - 6 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
    - 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
    - 1 tbsp Asian Fish Sauce

      A pull chop (purchase on QVC) can really help with this recipe. That ginger, garlic, and possibly even that shallot can all go in the chopper simultaneously. You control how small they get by how many times you pull the handle. I like my garlic and ginger to become more of a paste, so 50 pulls for me. (I also tend to use a whole flower of garlic in most dishes, such as Shrimp Scampi).

      Have you ever made a bbq sauce with pineapple and mango in it? Or one with mixed berries and some chipotle?

      @@thesauceandgravychannel I watched those and I like the idea. I’ve made a couple sauces myself, none involving fruit or chipotle, but I’m just beginning in that regard.
      As far as the mango goes, I was interested in how a bbq sauce would turn out by using both mango and pineapple to compliment each other (plus pineapple has a compound in it that helps with inflammation in the joints, which I do have).

    If you using sweet soy sauce instead the soy sauce, you can skip the melting brown sugar process because sweet soy sauce is already contain the brown sugar or palm sugar. and when you use this bbq sauce for fish or others seafood in indonesia we use lime instead the rice vinegar, it will bring more freshness

    Add toasted and crushed Szechuan pepper corns, spicy miso paste, and do a mix of dark and light soy and blend the sauce, adds a lot of depth

    Make caramel and then use all the Asian sauces to make sauce. Great. I learned how to make my own sauce out of already made sauces.

    In making this dark-coloured sauce, I would suggest skip scraping off the skin of the ginger. It is actually flavourful and nutritious.
