I am brought to tears every time I watch this. The joy of every single person. I have seen these guys live twice. I’ve watched every you tube video they have over and over. I live in Los Angeles. I have started taking voice lessons. I have an audition on Thursday night to join the Angel City Chorale! Wish me luck!!!
I did the rainstorm as a kid where we were in an assembly with the whole school. It sounds incredible when a lot of people do it. It also fits really well with Toto's "Africa" I bless the rains down in Africa..
it also appears that one of the members is blind which makes it more fantastic to watch over and over again in that disabilities do not stop people from living their dreams. may they continue to grow and live long and prosper
Yes, Dave, I thought that was a wonderful glimpse into the amazing diversity of this chorale. I too have watched it over and over again, nothing in such a long time has made me feel so optimistic and joyful. This is what the America I grew up in was all about. Maybe there is still hope for humans if we can all emulate this group.
@@genabrie don't forget that Andrea Bocelli has a law degree, gotten well after he became blind. People are just astonishing. And, the Concierto de Aranjuez was written by a blind man, in Braille.
This choir is exactly what our world needs now. Congratulations; I hope you win. No disrespect intended towards the other amazing and talented contestants
Most outstanding performance. Living in South Africa this hits home and gives me chills. Africa is so unique and it gets into your blood. If you have never travel to Africa, make it number 1 on your things to do. There is no other continent like it. ☺
This is the best choir I have heard on America's Got Talent. Fantastic vocals!. Amazing coordination. Good job choir director pitch was on point. This will be a choir to remember. I hope this choir wins the show.....
I appreciated the facial joy on the choir members. I was a member of an HBCU choir in the 90s, The Southern University Concert Choir, and much like sitting here retired alone in Thailand, there were days that my heart just absolutely soared at the contemplation of the very special thing that I was doing at the moment.... Be well everyone, live your best days.
Of course the original is always better but there's nothing wrong with choirs singing it they sing songs like these all the time! And nobody wants to see your link! Lol!
That's the whole money making buisness that's how it is! Somebody comes out with a product, somebody else takes it reverse engineers it and makes there own that's how buisness has always been everywhere not just America! And church choirs don't make money and I'm pretty sure there not going to win, and even if they did I'm sure there not going to keep it for themselves that money would go to the church.
It really IS fabulous being a part of a large choir. When it's good it's just goosebump raisingly fantastic, and so so joyful. I sang in a 1000 voice choir once and we all squeezed into an old Victorian Hall to practice, it had very high ceilings but absolutely no acoustics except all our voice boxes bouncing off the walls and each other. There was no amplification, there was no Musical accompaniment - just human voices - it was one of the most magical days of my life. WOW we sounded good. Hearing the men's bass & baritone voices rumbling underneath, sweeping across in waves, supporting the Altos and sopranos ..... I'll never forget it. Seriously, go join a Choir rather than taking anti-depressants. The endorphin rush is amazing when you are actually inside the choir rather than in the audience. Mind you the effect on the audience is pretty darn wonderful too. Human beings at their best
This came up on my feed three days ago. I never heard about this choir. When they started to sing, I just started crying. I don’t know why. I listened several times, and the same results. This is emotional, and spiritual for me. This a fantastic choir. Great Job
A week later & this is the one that's still in my head!! I cannot imagine how incredibly hard it was to put this together! This one was "Golden Buzzer" worthy if there ever was one!
Perpetual Jazzile is no Angel City Chorale! They may have had the idea, but so what… they weren’t the 1st either. ACC is a legend, not some small Accapella group- no competition!
In a single word, brilliant. I was in HS when Toto came out with this song and one of my all-time favorites, "I'll be over You". I think of my first love every time I hear it.
Outstanding! You could really feel the storm, the energy and the beautiful melody. Would like to see more world exposure to the culture of Africa - and groups like this from RSA.
Damn! I cried . Our continent may go through a lot of storms, but we sure have lots of good in here too. Amazing choir! Thank you for reminding me that Africa is still worthy.
Hi 🙋Can you help me please .....what's name is song & what's name singer original this song or music ....please help me.... i dont know😞......thanks🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Such a beautiful song, and so brilliantly sung. 80s music was so special, in a league of it's own. Reminds me of John Farnham concerts. Where The audiences of his fans, around, 100,000 people,, join in, and even take over. In that era - no auto tune, no great tech gizmos or trickery. You could either sing or you couldn't. Feb '24. UK. E❤
I already knew them from hearing other performances, but each time I discover individuality and excellence in this fantastic chorale. I would award them even if only for their elegance :)
What a brilliant performance by all, and the conductor I take my hat off to her she is such a inspiration and she accepts people of all cultures backgrounds, and sexuality.
I absolutely love these guys. please come to hong Kong. You uplifting, your getting to my soul and your bringing out a a deep emotion when you sing. Well done on all your effort and thank you.
I sang this for choir two years ago freshman year!!!!!!!! I’m and alto so I only sang the chorus, and doo doo doo doo doo doo doo baa and all that😂 but I LOVED ITTT the whole beginning was the BEST everyone at our school loved it
So, for me, this is proof that we are the products of a loving god. Unlike any other species that we know of, we have the ability to create art that can move us to emotion, just for the beauty of it. In this particular case, they took a song that we have all heard, literally a million times if you grew up i the 80's and recreated it in a way that almost every commenter describes as bringing tears to their eyes. Again, for me, this is how I see God.
Candice Ruth, WOW, you're right. I just watched the perpetuum jazzles Africa and they are great. The guy that started off singing wearing the black jacket with yellow looking scarf sounds a lot like the original singer of Toto.
Paul Greengross, I appreciate that your choir gives credit to PJ. I apologize for being "snarky" :) I will delete my comment best of luck to your choir on AGT really excited about what ACC has in store!
"I hear the drums echoing tonight But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation She's coming in twelve-thirty flight Her moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation I stopped an old man along the way Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say "Hurry, boy, it's waiting there for you" It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had The wild dogs cry out in the night As they grow restless longing for some solitary company I know that I must do what's right Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti I seek to cure what's deep inside Frightened of this thing that I've become It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had "Hurry, boy, she's waiting there for you" It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had"
I loved this audition, this was my favorite audition from last night's show, looks like Simon loved it too, he was clapping along, I loved it, it was great, I really do hope they win the show!

Omg yes
Completely overlooked that. Can’t unhear it now 😂
Omg your right lol.
Nice !!
It’s like Simon is the only one with enough vocabulary and emotional IQ to say something insightful and brilliant. Thank you Simon. You’re 💎
I love your comment and then there is Hiedi :P
Agreed. Simon can be a total dick at times but ya know... Truth hurts sometimes. He may very well be the only qualified one in the whole lot...
100% agree :) Simon has so much experience and is a very great person.
You can tell the comments from all judges were heavily edited...gotta wonder how much other drivel was edited out if that was what was left in.

This gave me chills when I watched this on TV truly amazing I hope they win America’s Got Talent. Honestly they should’ve gotten the golden buzzer.

This gave me chills.
Living here, in South Africa, this is such a beautiful song, and is definitely uplifting and magical!
I did the rainstorm as a kid where we were in an assembly with the whole school. It sounds incredible when a lot of people do it. It also fits really well with Toto's "Africa" I bless the rains down in Africa..

Dave, actually 2 of our members are blind. I look at their Braille music and think wow that’s impressive. They are great singers!

Deserved golden buzzer
Most outstanding performance. Living in South Africa this hits home and gives me chills. Africa is so unique and it gets into your blood. If you have never travel to Africa, make it number 1 on your things to do. There is no other continent like it. ☺
Simon has wanted a choir to win for several years, he often mentions it.
They need to create a choir category.
This is the best choir I have heard on America's Got Talent. Fantastic vocals!. Amazing coordination. Good job choir director pitch was on point. This will be a choir to remember. I hope this choir wins the show.....
Yes, they are good but Perpetuum jazzile did it 15 years ago in a capella. their version is stil the best for me.
What about Ndlovu Youth Choir?
I appreciated the facial joy on the choir members. I was a member of an HBCU choir in the 90s, The Southern University Concert Choir, and much like sitting here retired alone in Thailand, there were days that my heart just absolutely soared at the contemplation of the very special thing that I was doing at the moment....
Be well everyone, live your best days.
Our choir class is doing something similar to this with our spring concert. I'm beyond excited to see people's reactions and pray it goes well!!
And a year later.... Did it go well?
2 years later… Did it go well?
3 years later….. did it go well?
4 years later… Did it go well?
Imagine the rain...... in Africa. Beautiful 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️❤️
I almost cried I love that song
Hell yeah!!!
The original is better, honestly just copying someone elses idea is not cool. See my link above.
Of course the original is always better but there's nothing wrong with choirs singing it they sing songs like these all the time! And nobody wants to see your link! Lol!
So it is ok to make money from someone else's idea... No wonder America has so many problems right now.
That's the whole money making buisness that's how it is! Hats off to such a glorious performance
Golden buzzer worthy if you ask me
They got it anyway
Facts
Wish there could have been more! Shortened version still captures the spirit of the way it was performed by Perpetuum Jazille. Great job!
This came up on my feed three days ago. I never heard about this choir. When they started to sing, I just started crying. I don’t know why. I listened several times, and the same results. This is emotional, and spiritual for me.
This a fantastic choir.
Great Job
The people on the venue have no idea how lucky they are to have witnessed this amazing performance live
Wow,the rain sound was stunning,we didn’t need to be told,we could already tell by the talent
I sang this with my choir and it was the most fun song we’ve sang!
Pls can I get the lyrics
The passion in their faces! This is one of my favourite songs and the rendition is fabulous!

I’m watching this immediately after seeing them during the commercial break... what an amazing choir!
Does anyone else get chills from this??
I did!
Absolutely!
Completely unexpected, absolutely incredible!
Y'all we're beyond good, you were outstanding. Director did a great job... Good luck
A week later & this is the one that's still in my head!! I cannot imagine how incredibly hard it was to put this together! This one was "Golden Buzzer" worthy if there ever was one!
I wouldn't mind them being the first choir to win AGT
Watched this 15 times in a row. Dayum I feel blessed
......me the same !!!!!!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written in the history of man ❤️
I remember watching this on tv 2 years ago and being like, “dang this is good.”
I have never seen to Simon like this ever! He really enjoy and feels the music. It is a perfect moment.
Perpetuum Jazzile made the original acapella version back in 2009, they know how to make it sound awsome👌...
Yep❤
Perpetual Jazzile is no Angel City Chorale! They may have had the idea, but so what… they weren’t the 1st either. ACC is a legend, not some small Accapella group- no competition!
Best choir I have ever heard in my life.......
Listening to the beautiful harmonious voices....
I wish they had an album 😀...Just download straight..
In a single word, brilliant. I was in HS when Toto came out with this song and one of my all-time favorites, "I'll be over You". I think of my first love every time I hear it.

Amazing! I hope they go all the way. This choir exudes JOY! They got Simon grooving, that says it all! Fantastic job, I got chills!
I love everything about this. Simon keeping the beat like a kid learning to dance is a bonus.
Outstanding! You could really feel the storm, the energy and the beautiful melody. Would like to see more world exposure to the culture of Africa - and groups like this from RSA.

This song always makes me cry it’s so beautiful and the way they sang it to it gave me butterflies and goosebumps. So beautiful!!!!!
Nothing is more satisfying than watching everyday people doing extraordinary things.
I love how much they love to sing together, it's so happy!
Beautiful! Congratulations Angel City Chorale Choir!!!
Stupendous, amazing, incredible, awesome, breath taking, inspiring....cried throughout. The blind singers are inspiring in the choir
I know this song since 1982 and still Amazing!!! And still Deserve the Standing Ovation
The best choir on AGT. I still revisit this video often and it still manages to give me chills.
I didn’t know about this one. I saw there original one on YT 12 years ago? Wow amazing
This was awesome Africa is one of the best songs ever, Bobby Kimball would be proud

I couldn't help but get up and sing with you! AMAZING WORK!! Congrats!
Choirs are not really exciting but THIS sounds SO GOOD. It just sounds so powerful ♥️
When the choir all began singing chorus...gonna take a lot to drag me away you" it literally gave me goosebumps.
Perpetual jazzile Africa brought me here 👏👏 . Wow what a number of people you have here 👏👍
I already knew them from hearing other performances, but each time I discover individuality and excellence in this fantastic chorale. I would award them even if only for their elegance :)
What a brilliant performance by all, and the conductor I take my hat off to her she is such a inspiration and she accepts people of all cultures backgrounds, and sexuality.
Wish you could all experience a highveld thunderstorm in Africa, it is magical, calming and amazing!
Wow! Love it! One of the best choral groups I ever experienced. Phenomenal performance!!!
This is one of my favorite performances, and it keeps haunting me so beautifully! It's beautifully done! Just love it!

Candice, I'm a member of ACC. We have given PJ full credit on our website. BTW PJ got the rain effects from another choir!
Paul Greengross, I appreciate that your choir gives credit to PJ. I apologize for being "snarky" :) I will delete my comment best of luck to your choir on AGT really excited about what ACC has in store!
ACC is really great. I'm crossing my fingers that you guys win AGT. You all deserve it.
Best Ive ever heard this song! Good Luck on AGT....go all the way!
They deserve to be in the finals
IMHO this performance deserves a golden buzzer, but I don't want them to go straight to the live shows as I want to see more of them.
U know u can’t help but smile everytime u here them sing! ❤
If there isnt a choir of Angels singing this, like these folks, while we ascend to heaven, I dont wanna go....
Watching the beginning is interesting BUT. I didn't understand it, until I LISTENED with my eyes shut, and then I really heard it----truly stunning!-
"I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in twelve-thirty flight
Her moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say
"Hurry, boy, it's waiting there for you"
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside
Frightened of this thing that I've become
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
"Hurry, boy, she's waiting there for you"
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had"
I've always loved this song and this is so original and a joy to watch, well done America!!😃🎼🏴🏴🎸🎧
Whenever I watch this again its like the first time. What a great group of people. Very emotional
I loved this audition, this was my favorite audition from last night's show, looks like Simon loved it too, he was clapping along, I loved it, it was great, I really do hope they win the show!
I love this and love 80's music! 80's music makes me think back to my High School days at Limestone High School in Limestone, Maine.
This makes me smile seeing all these beautiful diverse people with beautiful voices come together. 🥰
me too
This should have gotten the Golden Buzzer! I hope one of the guest judges redeems this situation.
I'm overcome with joy when listening and seeing this!
The dirigent lady is A BOSS. The choir is BOSS. I could only imagine the real echoes going through that night.
This is sooooo cool. Saw this when is was originally aired and fell in love with it.
Simon as the only one juror gave the stand ovation, i like him from this momment, hah xD YOU ANGELS, YOU ARE AMAZING :)
I despise choirs, but I absolutely LOVED them!!
They copied this from another choir nothing original here...
Elite Dangerous Club are you talking about the choir that went viral for doing this a few years back? Because they’re the same group....
I saw that other video from 7 yrs ago after I posted my comment.
Perpetuum Jazile is them??? Those folks sounded English. Regardless, I still felt more magic from last night’s group.
DanaDana128 I agree about this group but I was referencing this group that did this exact performance in another video that went viral not too long ago. I thought they were referencing that old video, my fault! But this group definitely has more of an impact in their performance in my opinion.
I agree, just opened this video because the song on title and im absolutely amazed
Wow, they rocked the whole auditorium.
Yes! You can hear the rain! Really special.
THIS IS true MUSIC.
Another great standard of respect for America's got talent show.
Kudos.
They are amazing why lie they deserved a golden buzzer
Always makes me smile watching them perform, such lovely people
I saw this audition and loved it, and I am not a fan of choirs normally ... Simon said he would remember it for a long time... I will as well
I met An original member of the choir about 2 years ago at my job, I was humbled.
A different perspective view and diversified way of presentation of the same song sung by the Ndlovu Youth Choir.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely, can’t watch this choir enough! I get music response every time! Goosebumps
