From dry spell to abundant snow: Timely tourism resurgence gives new life to Gulmarg

The recent good quantity of snowfall boosted tourism at the famous Ski Resort Gulmarg in Kashmir. This world-famous Ski Resort has always played a vital role in boosting tourism with its heavenly beauty. The powdery snow just covers the entire Gulmarg facilitating a slew of adventurous activities like Skiing, Snowboarding, Snow Cycling and Sledging. Surprisingly though, Gulmarg witnessed a dry spell in the early part of the Winter season. But the recent abundant snowfall seems to have made it up with a significant influx of tourists and also boosted the economy of the place. The Government of India also organised Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg where almost eight hundred athletes from different parts of the country participated.

The cab and scooter drivers are fleecing tourists like never before. They are asking for Rs 5000-6000 for a 5 km round trip. You can't bargain because they have forrmed a cartel. They are ruining the entire Gulmarg experience. If somebody doesn't instill some sense in them then tourists would stop coming very soon.
