This is probably one of the best looking JMs I've ever seen. The covered bridge humbi and the neck P90 are my favorite aesthetic, and the color is so pretty.
I love when build quality and artistry of a guitar reminds me so much of the many fine cellos and violins I’ve had the privilege to hold and play. Also that finish is…chocolatey…
While I like a nice, chocolatey finish, I like that orange one you showed. Agree with you about the bridge and knobs. I realize it's subjective, but a guitar of that price and quality should not have a pickguard. They put a lot of effort and time into a quality top and finish, then cover it up with plastic?
I think you may have just missed them at a glance. Many have built this setup for years, example Yamaha Pacifica 611, G&L Fallout, Harley Benton HP42 (Signature model) , Reverend Double Agent, Friedman Vintage T, Gretsch G2215-P90 (recent, inexpensive, very nice!), various Dan Electro 59X/XT, Hagstrom Semi-Acoustic Alvar, some Dusenbergs, Godin at various times. Etc... Not to mention that humbucker sized P90s (P94 or something like that) are also seen in ESP LTD and many other guitars in the neck. And you can also do this kind of setup on a dual P90 guitar by putting a mini-humbucker or firebird style mini-HB into the bridge. Many options for the Niel Young style setup. Hope this helps in you search! I myself would have love a PJD for the workmanship alone.
...and PJD do lefties in all models at no extra cost. You can also get Cream T pickups as an option (although the Bare Knuckles are great). I like the slightly smaller offset body (as compared to a Jaguar or Jazzmaster). The guitar also offers an offset hard tail choice for those that don’ t use tremolo much.
That is a beautiful guitar and the HB bridge/ neck P90 is now a very popular combination. Have you ever reviewed a modern Gordon Smith guitar- in addition to a range of stock models they do custom built hand made instruments here in the UK at a much lower price point than the guitar tested here.
Chocolatey! I think it is a gorgeous instrument! Well done, PJD Guitars! You can clearly see the thinking process that went into this instrument! First of all, you cannot go wrong with Bare Knuckle Pickups! Secondly, sourcing quarter-sawn blanks ia always, always a good idea! You cannot go wrong with GraphTech and, Gotoh, bridge, well, yeah, not the fanciest one, but, it's still Gotoh, solid and will surve for years of abuse.
Chocolatey! I think it's stunning. The Jaguar/JM shape is my favourite shape, I've got a Jaguar and a G&L Doheny. The price is high, yeah, but if it's hand-built to the standard you say it is, then it's not gonna be cheap. Like you say, something built to that standard from the big boys would be FAR more expensive. If I had that sort of disposable cash and was looking for another offset, I'd definitely look at one. Nice video by the way 🙂
What a masterpiece Andy, in sound and vision. Choclatey even. I think the other minor detail they could improve on would be a decent roller string tree. Otherwise it’s some machine. If money was no object for me I would be on this like a light. Great balanced review as usual Andy. It’s very like my G&L fallout tribute in form and pickups combinations, an excellent combination 👍❤️😄
That's a beautiful chocolatey guitar! I wonder if they'll be available in Australia in the future. Thanks for showing us this brand. We get limited choices here in the land down under.
Chocolatey? Nah, it's very caramel-y in my book. Lovely bit of guitar! Completely agree on the bridge. If it had a better bridge, then it'd kill the competition. Also, considering they have custom options available for about 1800, I think PJD ought to be a lot more popular!
Andy, that is a beautiful Guitar. Love the pickup combination and even the shape of the pickguard appeals to me. 🍫. Edit. I can see the workmanship in that costing that amount of money by the way.
Dark chocolaty goodness! I wonder if Klangfarbe ships to North America ... oh, looks like I am safe ... but my credit card still fainted. LOL I guess I will have to order one from PJD when the occasion warrants it.
@@TheGuitarGeek i’m not gonna believe this unless I have a video call with Bob, and all Bobs do not look alike don’t try and fool me with some imposter. I’m not some tennis organization but you can just shove around. #FREEBOBNOW Fro’s have Right!!!
Oof, that's a pretty offset. Very nice. Middle position for me is usually really good if you split the 2 humbuckers, with a double hum you need 2 volume controls like on a les paul so you can create your own blend of the pickups. What chocolatey though. troll rant without interpunction for effect: But you know only a gibson is good enough because they make the best guitars to the highest standard if this was a gibson it would be much better than someone else than gibson could ever make it thats why they cost so much they are just the best and all the others are just not as good and wish they were gibson.

This finish really accentuates the body shape and for sure makes the design look balanced.
that guitar looks sick... tele-like headstock with offset body and my favorite set of pups! And sounds great as well.
I fought you for that PJD

Chocolatey goodness!! I'm definitely eyeing one of these up...
It's very smooth and chocolaty sounding, with a good bit of bite from the neck pickup.
For sure. This guitar has seen a lot of playing time
I use wish more companies would do this pickup layout! P90 in the neck & humbucker in the bridge is magic! Beautiful guitar!

Absolutely perfect. I think I would prefer chrome Tele style knobs for volume and tone but otherwise gorgeous.

That P90 at the neck sounds wonderful.

Loving the chocolatey colour.
Chocolatey n delicious sounds, great craftsmanship, thanks for the video Andy!
Hey Ra, you are welcome.
Amazing specs. Great looking. What do they have against locking tuners?

Totally! You guys would get on well!
Chocolate, tea & coffee 😉are those colours on that flamed top. Seriously though, a beautiful instrument!
Chocolatey!

Thanks Robert. Sounds like something I can get behind for sure
They have a one pick up hollow body lefty that I now want. I'll pick it up when it comes in chocolate.
I also bought a blue st.john standard the other day.
I like it very much.
chocolate!
Gives me a sugar rush with all the chocolatey goodness. I love the pickup combo and that finish.
It's rather lovely. Needs a trem though!
Andy if I had the money I’d have one of those tomorrow
Enjoy every minute!!

You should try a geetar from RH guitars in Derbyshire sir, Rob hand makes some of the nicest geetars around by a long shot.
It's both chocolatey and beautiful.

I’m sure they will be one day

The price is very competitive but just a LITTLE more would make these a no brainer.

It’s chocolatey but it’s also like coffee. A chocolate coffee. It’s a mocha!! either way, it’s a thing of beauty and sounds great.
Very good pickup sound but a bit light. I'd like to hear more dark sound. Basses enhanced.
Oh boy, can't wait to have that chocolatey goodness in my hands!

Vanilla it’s the most popular flavor.
Didn’t Bob order that guitar? Where is Bob??
Bob let us know your ok!!!
That neck joint was beautiful.
Bob is here. Bob is safe. No, Bob cannot come to the phone right now.

Wow!... That is a lovely guitar, I'll give you that 👍
Love the matt finish.
Me too!
Chocolatey. Indeed.
You pick the oddest words lol. I like chocolatey guitars! 😁🤣
Chocolatie. When I visit Vienna (I do once and a while) I pass by Klangfarbe.
Wow.
Choclatey every review of pjds seems to point to the face that they are top quality
Yep, there is a pattern evolving
This thing oozes chocolately deliciousness! Can’t justify selling my twin infants to pay for it, but I‘m definitely smitten.
Same here 😔
Kauer has been making that exact guitar for years..........
Chocolaty, I'd love to have that;
I ain't saying that! Lol nice guitar.
The guitar is chocolaty delicious 😋
Hey Dale! It sure is
If ever you're here, I might let you play mine :)
6:27 - 6:40 you are holding the guitar wrong. Chocolatey.
You know lefties? I’m a back to frontie
@@TheGuitarGeek Oh dear... since the lefties are already ruining our youth, God help us with your sort!
Just a little bit too rich... 😮
I hear you. IF somone is in the market for something special, this is a wonderful option.
choc
So close.
ALL guitars are 'hand made'.
Sounds great but that's any ugly guitar...
