    As spotty as Gowron's future decisions were, I really did like him and I felt like he was a good choice to lead the Empire. DS9 kind of did him dirty.

      It showed how power corrupts. The interesting thing is how Worf was solely responsible for installing the next two Supreme Chancellors. Worf killed Duras, which automatically put Gowron in office, and when Gowron started acting stupid, Worf Killed Gowron, which put Worf in office, and then he handed it over to Martock. From season 3 of TNG, Worf was pivotal in the development of the Klingon Empire. Not bad for a character who had nothing to do in the first season, except stand there and scowl.

      I liked him too but he got jealous and let his emotions rule his decisions in the war and it was proper that he was challenged.

      Even in this episode, Gowron established himself to be underhanded and political, which is likely how he got to this position.

      Ds9 gave him character growth. In the end however Gowron was a politician, not a warrior and because of that he feared Martoks boost in popularity.

    At one point I hoped Gowron would use Inspector Clouseau's line:

      @@SportsSpeak73 Yeah, the scowl Gowron has here is that he knows he is innocent, but he didn't really care so much that Duras was guilty. He couldn't prove it, so the suspicion was fruitless. But after hearing of the Romulan ties, then it became a far worse betrayal.

      It's clear cut-dry that it certainly had Gowron's attention; Duras probably went to "tie up any further loose ends"

    • @davidlewis5312

      he knows Duras is responsible because he didn't do it and he knows the Federation didn't do it. There is only three suspects, Gowron is one of them. Nobody thinks the Federation is going around planting bombs at diplomatic barges (that's why its the PERFECT CRIME!). Therefore, Gowron probably only investigated as far as yup, it wasn't an accident. I'm going to KILL that pa'takh.

    For a people who value a warrior's honour and merit, these Klingons can act so childish in the presence of one they have deemed without honour. At least Gowron acknowledged Worf. Duras did not, at least, not as a person or even as a Klingon, for even a Klingon stripped of all honour is still a Klingon and can bear his/her Dishonour as such, which is what Worf had done.
    Heh, even under the stigma of discommendation, Worf was more Klingon than the traitorous petaQ Duras...

    • @nightshadedreams2989
      @nightshadedreams2989 2 года назад

      the way I see it, Klingons act like bullies, and when another race is able to stand up against them they act like a child (excluding the ones who have some sense), and forgive my poor memory, but I don't think Worf had the kind of Klingon honour in him to begin with until he got more involved with his people, which allowed him to think more clearly
      But then I might be over thinking things so feel free to ignore this rubbish XD

      @@nightshadedreams2989i don’t think he had a proper chance to SHOWCASE that honor, nobody to contrast him against. but it was laying there dormantly as a character trait.
      picard didn’t just start disliking kids because he met one, he already disliked them before we got the chance to see that character trait. it just didn’t come up. same thing with worf’s honor.

      Klingons at times seem to be written as lazy in all things other than fighting. So they do a basic investigation and that's that as far as they are concerned.

    • @SantomPh
      @SantomPh 9 месяцев назад

      Klingons are not as thorough investigators as the Federation or Romulans, they are warriors and not criminals. ST VI for example, they were willing to throw Kirk and McCoy into Rura Penthe just to speed up the process. The Klingon governor the brainwashed Geordi almost killed was completely unaware of the situation and needed Geordi and Data to figure out the modifications made to the phaser rifles.
