And finally watched your almost 12 hours video in 10 days! watch it an hour for everyday exceptional for Sunday I occasionally watched it for couple of hours. The straight 90 miles (150 km) highway is my awaiting part and keep spirit to watch your video until the last day of June!!!

Honestly these highways look so identical for hours on end (flatland with some trees) it boggles the mind, I'm guessing the national parks are a lot more beautiful and varied. The drive from Melbourne to Sydney had more interesting landscapes it seemed. On the other hand, a lot of this takes places in the dark where you can't see the landscapes

Hey just watching your video for the first time, we did it, me and my wife, from Adelaide to Perth in 2019, that was our first and only one, we stopped at Augusta for 1 night, next morning we left for Ceduna, we were almost halfway when my wife said did you put my suitcase in the boot
i said NOOO, didn't you put it in, I was sitting in the driver's seat waiting to go,''' we stopped, called the motel, the fella there said yes it's here, there are some good people left in the world, he arranged a kind soul to meet us in Kimber, our next overnight stop was in Eucla, next night stop was Balladonia, where Skylab crashed, had 2 night in the GOLD city Kalgoorlie, from there back strait to Perth, we planning another trip soon, this time we hoping to do it from Sydney to Perth., enjoying your video, thanks keep it up.

Drove toward Adelaide in my young life during dusk, saw a marvelous unforgetible view from all the citylights from the hills before entering. Not many Indigenouse people from Tasmania survived the holocaust in the early 1900´s. Much appreciate your 35 hours upload, never thought to see it as how you managed to document it. Thanks!

I'm keen to do this trip for the sheer adventure - but dude, how did you do this without any music playing..? I'd be blasting music all the way across..!!
i did it without music surprisingly easy, i was just letting my mind wonder and thinking about things while i was driving.
We will be driving from Perth to Melbourne next week. Will be driving 12 hours each day; Perth to Madura, Madura to Port Augusta, Port Augusta to Melbourne.
that will be a good drive but i dont reccomend driving the nulla at night, i dodged so much wild life on the way back. dont forget to take some photos of the 90mile straight on the west side and on the east after you cross it. I did the drive back and recorded all of the footage but because i had music playing i had too many copyright claims on the video so it was removed.
You must have done the trip in winter or spring because it's all so green, especially on the WA side. If spring did you stop at the Head of the Bight to view the whales nursing their calf's ? Now that's a sight to see. Was there on year in early September. 124 whales in the bay and 26 calves. We took to the Yalata lookout platform and this mother and calf were 50-60 meters away and the calf was being a typical infant jumping and rolling over the mother, majestic to watch. Just standing there feeling dwarfed by the white cliffs of the Great Australian Bight and as far as you could see, just rugged untouched beauty. Couple of dingo's hanging around too. Drove across one year and near Madura pass hit a Kangaroo at um high speed. My roo bar hit him mid jump which sent him smashing in to my window screen but incredibly he hit at the right angle so it didn't break straight over the roof he went. I stopped thinking I would have to finish him off as you have too if they are critically injured otherwise it's cruel to leave them on the side of the road but bloody hell he just jumped up and took off like a bullet. Lots to see especially the Milky way, stars horizon to horizon, incredible. I found anywhere in the Australian bush if you sit quiet for a while, the animals lizards snakes and birds will move around again, accept the flies, they stop for no one. Love the outback.

@@AridersLifeYT Oct warming up nicely. I'm from Perth worked most of the interior mining and exploration. Been to some pretty remote and amazing places. Best experience was mineral exploration at West Angello Ranges in early 70's. Worked with a Tribal driller Sammy. Every now and then we would have to stop for hours and he would take me walkabout in the bush. Came across a huge open cavern one day. Incredible, salt bush and spinifex at ground level dry typical harsh landscape but in this cavern there was this big gum tree with an underground stream that had broken the surface creating a narrow stream, ferns grasses and absolute Oasis. I asked him about the ochre hand drawings on the rock faces and he explained it was a meeting place where the tribes exchanged promised women. A truly ancient world. Another time we knocked off work and returned to camp where we all stood in our jocks washing ourselves down from a 44 gal drum of water ( our shower ) As I looked up on the ridge above us was a tribal man leg bent up and leaning on his spear watching us. I joking asked Sammy if he was going to attack to which he have me a worried look. Nah he says, your a white fella. I'm a black fella and I'm on his land. He was quite worried. Had some interesting experiences with the tribals and witnessed some mind blowing things. Love Kalgoorlie too, I always refer to Kal as the central pillar of our multiculturalism and why West Aussies have such a unique culture, but that's for another time perhaps. Road trips are great, lots to see and learn. Enjoyed yours
@@redhammer9910 id honestly love to see that hidden cavern with the old gumtree and underground river. I actually heard a similar story from a local when i stopped at the servo about 100km west of the 90mile straight.. the local said there are alot of these hidden gullys with underground rivers and cave divers are constantly caught out and die, so they tend not to advertise where they are. makes sense.
@@redhammer9910 On a side note, id love to drive all around Australia and upload the entire 150hr drive. i have the ambition, just need the funds and the car to do it. i think it would be great.

i'm absolutely amazed at how uncluttered the roads are there. In the U.S. it's almost bumper to bumper on every interstate highway.
Well Aus is about 85% the size of USA and we have 26million people. 21,000 beaches. the main land (inner) is basically a desert. Unlike USA we have massive back lack for new land release because of aborigional laws. But massive unregulated immigration is causing massive city overcrowding and the systems already falling daily due to demand.

In China,if you travel 2000 km by car, it will cost you approximately 300AUD simply on the toll. Chinese government charges everything

what got me on my trip over was the lack of road kill until i around cocklebiddy and then there were dead roos quite often on the side of the road. oh and the odd cyclist in the middle of the nullarbor

Wow what a long way, do you ever wonder why they did not build more cities along the route between Melbourne and Perth?
Aboriginal Land rights. Its Their Country and the majority vote no. Also A new city does need to happen. Cocklebiddle area, is great thats basically along the great Australian bite, right in the middle between Adeliade and Perth. Its sunny for 300+ days of the year. However the area has a massive underground water table that would seriously need to be investigated first + its too close to the Military SpyPlane bases so that rules out major cities also. 200k+mass immigration needs to be stopped first, then fix cities, etc before the merit immigration system should be reopened.
I love those videos - they're perfect to remember/prepare my own roadtrips. Thank you for sharing!

never used it for long videos due to the short battery runtime but never thought about (how to) keeping it plugged in (thanks, youtube tutorials!)
@@martingrosse the issue i have with the gopro it constantly had issues freezing, i had to buy new SD cards and flash the firmware to the old version to stop the issue, i dont think i will be using the gopro again as a long distance dash camera except for time lapses.
@@AridersLifeYT thanks for the warning! I'll try the long term recording at home first to see if I have the same issues.
Unfortunately here in germany "real" dash cams are only allowed if the are in short term loop recording mode, I don't know if I can buy one with constant recording.

Just making sure that we have no upset Ford drivers that view this upload, yea, you could easily do this trip in a Ford, of course, you would need a towbar to tow the water tanker for your radiator, but yeahh, you could easily do this in a ford

So are there no speed limits when you’re driving through the desolate lands? Also what happens when you get stuck out there? Cause truckers here in the U.S aren’t allowed to pick up hitch hikers. So if you get stuck out there are you just fucked?
Yes there are speed limits. 65mph most of the way. Aus has LOTS of wild camels and Kangaroos in that area. trucker drivers will stop for you if they need too. Police drive that road like 2x a day So worst case is you flag down a police car. The local aboriginals you may come across 90% of the time are fine. i passed a few cyclists and they where fine. the road with the open speed limit you are thinking of is more inland, this was basically the costal route.

I did enjoy the drive, the solitude and just living in my mind thinking about things etc while driving. i i didn't want to play music via the stereo and i considered using headphones for awhile but i enjoyed the quiet drive. also, lol i randomly scream in a few parts just for the fun of it.
have you ordered anyone else not going through that road while you were going through?

I did the entire drive with no music because i wanted to test my mental endurance. was actually nice just to drive and have your own thoughts.

I'm a musician/sound engineer and tbh I hate driving with music cz it's too distracting. I like to hear the engine and road noises, makes me feel more in control. Then again I live in England where we have heavy traffic and short journeys so not really comparable to this

Just up to where you come to the border village, you were doing ok till you got there, after that you did everything, wrong , like driving on the wrong side of the highway, you lucky you alive, and didn't take someone else with you.

@@AridersLifeYT yes, fatigue is a bugger, but you would not pay $79.00 for a room to have a good rest and shower for the night, that's why these facilities are there when you drive a long distance, you must refresh, we stopped 5 times on the same trip, on the next one we're going to stop 7 times.
