In the Pokemon games, you gotta catch them all, but two of the hardest ones to find are Mew and Mewtwo. The powerful psychic Pokemon are some of the best fighters in the game and have a long history together. While Mewtwo looks stronger and has better fighting attributes, Mew has several advantages in other categories. Before you find yourself stepping into Mewtwo’s corner, consider all of Mew’s great advantages.
Mew is one of the hardest Pokemon to capture in history. In one game, you can only get Mew by using a glitch or cheat code. It serves as the main boss in Pokemon Snap and becomes even harder to snatch up. Mewtwo was cloned and created in a lab. It has a lot of anger from this and is often times emotionally unstable. Mew on the other hand comes off as cool as a cucumber and is able to handle all types of problems without letting anger take over. One of Mew’s special talents is the creation of large pink bubbles. The bubbles actually have several uses and advantages. Mewtwo’s powers often exclude it from being allowed in any type of Pokemon fighting tournament while Mew has been allowed in specific tournament settings. Mewtwo will always be considered a clone and possibly a rip-off by some people. Mew will forever be known as the first Pokemon, a special title it could hold over all the other Pokemon out there. I always assumed that Mew has abilities that Mewtwo doesn’t because when the scientists created Mewtwo, they either had to sacrifice certain abilities in order to increase his power, or because he had human DNA mixed in with him (Blaine’s), so this reduced his Pokemon abilities a bit.
He never had DNA mixed with Blaine's DNA. It was Blaine who accidentally absorbed some of Mewtwo's DNA.

Mew can also transform into any pokemon in the world. This is proven correct since the first attempt to clone mew made ditto which only took one of mews abilities, the transforming.

Based on various Pokemon lore, Mewtwo is part human, which would explain it's emotional problems. In one story line it's Blaine's DNA that was used, and the mini movie "Origin of Mewtwo" hints indirectly that the DNA of Amber, the deceased daughter of the professor that cloned Mewtwo, was used

The bubble is likely a barrier, light screen, or reflect attack. You also forgot the one crucial advantage Mew has over Mewtwo. Mew can learn every attack. Mewtwo can't.
- Mew can Transform, Mewtwo can't
- Arceus is a Gen 4 Pokemon, not Gen 5
- Devolution Beam or Devo Crush only removes the highest evolution from a Pokemon, so using it on a Blastoise would lower it to a Wartortle, not a Squirtle
WhatUpMC so many mistakes
Not sure if this is still the case, but 4x Rare Candy was standard in TCG decks, so yes, half the time Mew probably would devolve Blastoise to Squirtle (if you don't know, Rare Candy skipped an evolutionary step in the TCG, and for the longest time was a deck requirement). And even if that isn't common anymore, it still is possible, and therefore the video is not wrong (on that point at least). EVEN without Rare Candy, Mew could just use Devo Beam twice.
I love both! One is cute, the other looks so cool! One is fun loving and sweet, the other has a great back story, with a lot of emotions (and needs a hug), one can learn all the moves you can think of the other has mega evolutions, so...both...is like the Yin and Yang, balance each other and you can't think of one, without thinking on the other almost inmediatly.
I never could catch a Mew in the games even with the GameShark and a dozen hours of research and troubleshooting. Fast forward years later to 2021 and I got a 2 foot Mew plush so I can have one finally. Surprisingly worth it

its easy to explain, they got it from their parents, or it is a pet, i mean you could be 4 years old and get a gun from your parents...
That was actually just the anime's thing, the games never actually specify an age. Hell if I remember right Red is supposed to be 11.
Also, the anime has both Max and Bonnie, who technically weren't old enough but do handle Pokemon in some capacity. Dedenne was even caught specifically for Bonnie. So yeah, in the anime at least its like parents getting their kids a pet, technically its not really theirs.
The only thing the games imply is that 10-11 is the minimum age to start the trainer's journey.
Sure Mewtwo can't do all of the Mew can, but we can all agree he's still pretty hecking good, right?

I honestly like Mewtwo better, it doesn't mean I don't like Mew, I just happen to like Mewtwo better. Mewtwo is better in my opinion because Mewtwo's character has a crazy backstory with being a created Pokemon and everything, also it's an amazing battler, despite this. There's no denying that Mew itself is still an incredible Pokemon, not only can it learn almost every single attack, but it's still a great battler maybe not as good as Mewtwo in terms of its stats, but can still get the job done pretty well, not to mention Mew is freaking adorable which makes it an even more likable Pokemon. Both Mew and Mewtwo have always had special places in my heart ever since I first started getting into Pokemon

Something that is interesting to consider about Mew. Mew has the DNA and abilities of all Pokémon. Including Arceus. The powers and DNA of the being widely considered to be the God of all Pokémon. That means Mew can literally become a God if it wished to but has intentionally nerfed itself.

I feel like by "first Pokemon," Mew was the first one Arceus ever created and then used as a road map for all the others. While, yes, Arceus is "technically" a Pokemon, he's also technically a god, too and could be considered a "higher" pokemon; higher then even most legendaries.

DECHOSEN GUY, hm, I'd rather use mew in a playthrough, it has a lot of coverage and can be anything you want. It also doesn't give me the feeling that I'm using a way to OP pokemon. Mewtwo might have better stats, but who is going to help you out in battle more? A strong pokemon, or an OP banned pokemon.

Growing up me and my friend argued this a lot.

And to him Mew looked like he was playing around with Mewtwo.

I meant in terms of power, they are similar in power :-) scientists say that Mewtwo was meant to be more powerful than Mew but it's difficult to see who would've won the fight in the 1st movie
