The fact that they put Green into these games after she was scrapped all the way back in GEN 1 is amazing; the closest things we got to her were "Leaf" from Gen III (whom I consider to be a separate character) and the Green from the manga.
I don’t really like this episode because of the fact that MatPat doesn’t acknowledge that fact of why Green was Put in the game. Green, Red, and Blue were a trio of special boss trainers in the game referencing the main protagonists of kanto. Red and Blue are the most recognisable of this trio being reoccurring characters in the series, but Green is a main character in the Pokémon Manga. The reason they put Green in the game was for the people who read the Manga and also to introduce the character to the games. (Although I highly doubt we’ll see them again) [Side Note The whole Green pelting you with Pokéballs is a character quirk that Green has in the Manga, Another cool reference]
OR maybe pokemon is referencing the character green from the manga. And in the manga green works with team rocket so maybe that's why Blane talks about Green. Just a thought...
Manga Green doesn’t work for team rocket but for a different thing when she was younger. (I would tell you what for but it would be a small spoiler in a way)
Matpat:sees image of a girl talking to Mewtwo Also matpat: I'm just going to slap that scene of a girl talking to Mewtwo saying life is wonderful as she dies in the toilet
Matpat, I think you misunderstood, she might've just been angry you got a 1 of a kind Pokemon before her. That's probably why she threw poke balls at you, to either get you to hand it over, or an act of frustration. Also, she was mostly portrayed as a thief in the manga (I think?) And she could be based off of this image, it's drifting more to that, because Red looks like his manga counterpart (he's even got a Venusaur!) Also, she could just be Blain's kid in this one, y'never know
our Biplogy teacher showed us boring video tapes that gave us problems when the narrator talked about something being color-coded since they were black and white
Okay this has to be my favorite video of yours now. This made me so happy because no one ever talks about or remembers my favorite character!!! And I didn’t stop to think that Green might be her but with the happier ending!!!
It's wrong though. The Game canon and the Pokemon Adventure manga are part of the same story line canon. Green was intended to be the girl avatar as far back as the 1996 release of the very first Pokemon games in Japan in 1996, Red and Green. There was even matching concept art to her current, manga, and FireRed and LeafGreen appearances. She was intended to be included in the updated version Blue(which served as the basis for Red and Blue in the world wide release), but they couldn't get her in for various reasons. As an established character in the Adventure manga she's a bit of an oddball. She's an orphan, a thief(by necessity), willful, contrary, mischievous, but ultimately a good person at heart.
@@natsume-hime2473 That's true but green in the manga isn't the same as this green. She's clever, and if it were her all of your potions would be stolen while you're still wondering why the heck she threw pokeballs at you.
In the original pokemon movie, Mewtwo has a Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise with him, and they all have the same markings as the clones in the footage from this. So, is that saying that Mewtwo bought them back to life? or is that footage where they all fade away not canonical to the movie? If it's the latter, that may provide a little bit of explanation as to why Amber 2 is alive in the games.
no if you remember he was cloning all the pokemon that was with all the trainers at the time pretty much showing that the cloning machine was perfected(even to go so far as to clone them as an adult in their current evolution), the short was showing the cloning in testing so it would be reasonable to assume the clones he had with him were recent clones and the markings are small imperfections as a result of being cloned
@@lonelymascot O very true. Its been many years since I last watched the movie. It's just that when I saw the markings on charmander, squirtle and bulbasaur in the short, it reminded me of the film so I found screenshots of the markings. Oops. Thanks for clearing that up tho
Cool theory except Green is based of her appearance in the manga Pokémon Adventures where in the Red and Blue arc she is hunting Mew. She is obsessed with money and she is known for flirting to get her way.
Game Theory: Does Yoshi suffer from PTSD? Have you ever wondered why Yoshi is scared of going into castles in Super Mario World and modern Mario games? I think I have the answer. In the original Yoshi's island, Yoshi was considered stable, but after fighting Baby Bowser in Kamek's castle, he received traumatizing flashbacks to their fight. It is the reason why he doesn't go into castles. The Koopalings looks similar to Baby Bowser, and he is afraid of them and reminded of the trauma he suffered so many years ago.
Also this matches up with his other Pokémon theory where one universe there a not mega stones (green/Amber dies) and another with mega stones (Green/Amber lives) that could have a connection where the power of a bond between people and Pokémon (AKA Mega stones) could keep Amber/Green alive. *Mic drop
Don't forget sun and moon, with ultra space, that proves there are other dimensions, so why couldn't the alternate universe be reached via ultra space?
Everyone asks “who is green” “what is green” “why is green” “where is green”. But nobody asks “How is green” Y’all said I ruined it with the emoji so: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Was about to say. There is a protagonist for about every game, named so. Green from Pokemon Green, Red from Pokemon Red, & Blue from Pokemon Blue. And, in Pikachu and Evee, you basically are Yellow.
Or it's Green from the manga. After all Red, Blue, and Green have their manga starters. This is the first time they have had those specific starters as in all other games Red has Charizard, Blue Blastoise and Green has never shown up. But in these games Red has Venasaur, Blue Charizard, and Green Blastoise just like in the manga
THis is actually more likely to be true. If you search and look for the LeafGreen trainer pic online, there's the same hair (although under the hat but the hairstyle is identical), inverted colors on her shirt, even the yellow bag is the same. Nice observation! :)
Classica Filme Leaf is a fanmade name However the girl is green/blue lol Red Green and Blue all have references to their Pokémon adventure manga counterparts
If you use the manga as a part of explaining this story, you should also use the actual character green in the manga. The manga character resembles this green a lot and therefore this mewtwo connection might not be as conclusive as you think.
Fun Fact:The clone technology while may sound impossible is actually real and even during the cloning process a lot of the clones die and or fail. This is close to the Pokémon universe where most of the clones died young and before most of the differences set in just like in REAL cloning processes
"Who is Green?" the female player character meant to be in the original Red/Green and later introduced in the remakes, obviously. I find it odd that she's given a distinct personality and dialogue while Red is "preserved" as a blank slate.
Pikagirl541 Finally someone has an actual brain and isn’t a total fanblind and delusional PokeSpe fanbrat! I swear PokeSpe fans need to do their research!
Pikagirl541 when I encountered red for the first time in heart gold, his silence was a sign to me that a battle with him was going to be really hard. When I see him in the new games he just seem awkward and the silence doesn’t mean anything anymore.
Ahhhh the good old days when the intros weren't messed up. The times when the episodes replace the messed up intros were the best. These days the episodes are amazing. *Whispering* but the intros are terrifying
Is this really a theory? I mean its pretty obvious the only thing added to the game is blatantly similar to the Anime story. Pretty lazy theorizing there mat pat
But if you use the manga, you have to account for Green’s backstory, we don’t know if green had parents or not, but if she did, then wouldn’t Mr. Fuji have protected her better? Also, the manga clearly states her as a pallet town trainer, not from cinnabar island. Plus, at four, she got kidnapped by Ho-oh, and then raised by some evil organization.
the game doesn't need to be a diff canon anymore thanks to the power of plot savers, aka ultra wormholes. think. Looker was in ORAS. who says manga and games can't break the rules too?
I just want to point out that all the trainers in the games that only have one Pokemon, that was their starter Pokemon. Professor Oak thought it would be a good idea to give youngster Joey a Ratatat as his first ever Pokemon.
Except that isnt really true... Youngster Joey is exactly that.. a youngster. He isnt old enough to go a pokemon journey which means hes probably 8 or 9 and got his hands on an empty pokeball and threw it at the first pokemon he came across.. a rattata. Now that he has a pokemon he blocks the path and forces trainers to battle him because he doesnt want to wait till hes older to start training pokemon
two is usually the weaker bridge to a third release. take movies for example. if they can, movie makers will always try and turn a money making film into a trilogy
My theory -Green is a very good trainer -Blaine sent Green to catch Mewtwo and that's why she has the Mega Stones -Green is kinda crazy and that's why she throws more Pokeballs at you
This gets even more messed up when you remember that Green was originally the female player for fr/lg. Or at least it would explain where our father is.
@@RazamatazVT No, antagonist. If I remember correctly You would still be playing as Red, while Blue and Green would both be rivals/Antagonists. Though I don't think many details about her orignal plans were ever talked about, just some artwork really. For all we know the original story for Green could have been this Mewtwo connection.
One N' Only Productions Pretty sure Green was originally just supposed to be the female player trainer in the original games, but was cut due to it unnecessarily taking up storage space.
It would kinda make less sense though, cause the main source of anger for Mewtwo was the fading away of Amber and the others, and I am not saying that Mewtwo didn't love the starter trio clones, he certainly would be less angry because at least Amber (Or in this case, Green) managed to survive. And in result to this, Mewtwo may not (or may) have destroyed the lab and would've been less aggressive in nature. *Also remember that, Mewtwo was cloned way before Green's birth because Green's like the age of Red or Blue and if Amber would've survived back then, she would've been WAYYYY older.* *Note:-* I am not saying that Mewtwo didn't love the starter trio clones as friends, he certainly did, but I have a feeling that he had a stronger connection to Amber/Green.

(Although I highly doubt we’ll see them again)
[Side Note The whole Green pelting you with Pokéballs is a character quirk that Green has in the Manga, Another cool reference]
Green was also the female protagonist of FireRed/LeafGreen.

I think lonely is right but good thinking!
Yeah not even mentioning her as being a main character in the manga seems like some highly selective story telling. Fun theory though.
And if I recall in FireRed and LeafGreen the female avatar character is named Green and that character looks like Green here
That is true but it's just theory
I think that obsession of Mewtwo in the games is a nod to her hunt for Mew in the manga
@@neftalivalentin7099 A game theory!
And now he doesn't pay his taxes
