    excellent work, Mr. Nel,
    I'm sure you've heard about the concept of restriction that causes by Capillary tube
    some HVAC engineers say: it's 300psi Max. for R600 and 240 PSI Max. for r12
    I think that was the reason for the overheating of the motor and the filter..
    Thank you

    I have a 4 doors Samsung refrigerator, and it’s not cold on the fridge side. I open the evaporator cover, and I found out that the evaporator has ice on it. I have replaced 2 sensors and a fan, but it still has the same problem. I decided to call Sears, 2 techs came out to check. They told me that its a 600 refrigerant, its very flammable. I asked them to see if they can fix it, they said they don’t have the equipment. I told them that I can order the compressor at Sears DIY website. 1 tech said the equipment is back order. I then asked them can you convert it into 134A or R12, they told me no. I wish you are closer to my place. I love your video. Thanks sir!

      You also need an unopened filter-dryer. It needs to be removed, brazed in. Cooled. Vacuumed. Charged with (R600 was it?). The system is designed mathematically for a specific refigerant.... the length of the capillary tube and everything are by design. Flammable gas.

    Sir, I need your opinii:Lately, when I repair a fridges with a hole in the coil(it is about R600a fridges), after a period from the repair, the compresors fail, too.
    Did You notice Something Like that in your practice?

    • @JDNelRefrigeration
      @JDNelRefrigeration  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, I think when the fridge loses all its gas the compressor keeps on sucking air in through the puncture where the gas leak is, and builds up a tremendously high highside pressure, which damages the compressor.
      Especially on R600 systems where the compressor is designed to pump a very low pressure gas.

    I accidentally broke a 3/16 pipe from the compressor of my kegarator, the gas leaked out, Inleft it outside for about two weeks now. I am sure I can braze the pipe back into the compressor port (after removing the little piece that was left), my only concern is: do you think that all remaining r600a has been evacuated from the system? When full it has like 1.5 oz

      Blow another type of gas through the system, That will flush all the R600 out. Yes, they do weld successfully I have done hundreds of them through the years. • @JDNelRefrigeration
      @JDNelRefrigeration  3 года назад +3

      You don't need to change the oil but r600 capillary is much smaller than r134a so if you can change it, yes, also 134a needs a bigger condenser. If you can, add extra condenser. The bigger the fridge, the bigger the difference. On very small bar fridges you can use the same condenser and capillary.

    You seem to be very knowledgeable. I am also a hvac tech. I had very little experience on capillarytube systems. I normally work with larger systems and eevs and txvs. But i recently diagnosed a capillary tube system. I noticed ice on the capillarytube like 1 feet or more from the end. Can low refrigerant cause this? could not find leak. My conlusion was a restriction by dirt or moisture. I took out the refrigerant, flushed with nitrogen, pulled a good vaccum, and recharged. After the procedure the machine worked great again( no ice on the outside of capillary anymore. Am i wrong if Ì say the if the capillarytube has ice far back. there is a restriction by moisture or dirt. Or could low refrigerant cause ice on the outside of capillary aswell?.

    • @JDNelRefrigeration
      @JDNelRefrigeration  2 года назад +1

      On a capillary system that is warm and you are just starting off, you do get ice forming on the outside of the capillary for the first few minutes, but as soon as the fridge is cold that ice should disappear. A restriction in your dryer will cause the capillary to form ice as well as you rightfully diagnosed.

    Using R12 is forbidden. Have you ever heard of ozone depletion and montreal protocol? In general: changing the refigerant requires the adaption of capillar tube, condenser and evaporator. You should evacuate the system and use dry nitrogen before brazing. Also the pressure test and the check of tightness are missing. Sorry, but your work is bad.

      It's all about bussiness, chlorine is everywhere; it evaporates from the salts of the oceans and volcanos. Ozone is regenerated when and electric stom arrives, electrolisis process happens and turns O2 (oxigen) to O3 (ozone) end of montreal bussiness and this flammable refrigerants.

    I like most of your videos but this was not very good. Dont convert the fridges to any other refrigerant. There is no need to. Vacuum your system before disconnecting any pipes. Weigh in your charge its much easier.

      If we cut a piece of the capillary off to replace the pencil dryer, the volume of the system will be smaller than before and if we put a measured amount of gas in it will have an over charge.

    • @johnking1079
      @johnking1079 3 года назад

      @@AAAA-oe4ii The difference is that volcanoes release water soluble chlorine compounds released by volcanoes (Mostly Hydrocloric Acid) vs CFC's such as R12, R22. For example, HCL has a water solubility of around 720g/L at 20C... R12 has a water solubility of 0.286 g/L @ 20C. i.e. chlorine from Volcanoes gets absorbed by water vapor and falls to the earth as acid rain. chlorine from R12 doesn't. so R12 has a much higher probability of reaching the ozone layer than volcanic compounds.
