*Works perfectly for my use as a heated press **MyBest.Tools** Space between the ram jack and the base is a little tight. Make sure you set the ram jack arm so that it's in a position for you to get maximum leverage on whatever you're pressing. You may have to unbolt the front plate of the press and realign the ram in the teeth so that the arm is not at an awkward angle when fully cranked down.Other than aligning the ram in the teeth with the crank arm this .5 ton arbor press comes out of the box pretty much ready to use.*
Love the slow, patient way you did this. Skill and craftsmanship. Im a machinist, and do it the same way. Cheers mate!!
Nice video from 6 years in the future
Very, very well done vid! Thanks man... I must'a used and tore-up a bunch of those eyelets while trying to figure out how to do it right! Appreciate it 👍.
Thanks, this is the only video I've found that shows how to do it with tools I can make myself instead of needing to buy new tools
The problem is people have no patience. Guys want to smack the setter one time with a hammer and call it good, and move on to the next one. Doesn't work like that. Thanks for being so patient and showing the proper way.
Good information. Thank You for taking the time and effort to SHARE this with everyone.
Frank Nowakowski absolutely !! RUclips and the people that take the time to film things are absolutely amazing.
Awesome it just takes patience and a little finesse thanks
Nice hand work..Thanks ..Few people can do that cause they are not craftsman..
Thanks for the demonstration! Good upload!

Great video. Thanks
6 years later I am watching your video and It was so amazing.
I wish you could make a Kydex sheath for me.
Please let me know.
Thank you sir.
You the man thanks
thanks for the help!
what are these types of grommets called? do they come on stainless? are they better than the two piece grommets where you put a washer over then set it?
Thank you very much! 👌
This is what I ordered last night from KnifeKits Combo Kit - Sheath/Holster - Basic Kit 1 - (Journeyman #8) and two pieces of Sheath/Holster Making Foam - Thermoform Molding - (Mega Form) - (12x11.5x1). I'm going to get some plywood and put the foam on them with hinges in the back and use 4 clamps to hold it when cooling. I hope I didn't screw up. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I am new to index as you can see. I have the Harbor Freight 1 inch belt sander and there is a sanding wheel on the side so I can sand the kydex. Can't find out what grit to use when grinding the kydex.
Looks like you're on the right track. I grind with 80 grit and finish by hand with 220 grit, it grinds real easy. I would suggest using a piece of a cereal box to make a template of your sheath so you can get it the way you want it without wasting kydex. Try Practicing setting eyelets on a couple pieces of scrap kydex because they can split if you use too much force too fast. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Very helpful thanks a million!
+Denny Halleman You're welcome!
Thank you much.
thank you this helped alot
You're welcome and thank you for watching, glad I could help!
Are you taking sheath orders? Thanks for sharing skills.
Thanks!
The hand setter your using and the link to the setter are different. Where did you get yours?
Who're the 25 haters that 👎this video?!? Got them perfect the first time after watching this! Thank you sir!
Thank you, glad I could help!
how to unscrew a bolt from a loose eyelet ring for kydex sheaths?
Very nice. Where did you buy the tools?
Thanks, jantz supply.
what size rivets are those? I'm just getting started with kydex for knives I make and don't know what size rivets to use?. That brass looks nice.
Here is a parts list from Jants supply. Kydex (KY301) Eyelets (KE512) Setter (WV8095).
Definitely not how mine looked Haha. Did first one ever a few minutes ago. I'll give this a swing thank you.
I have about a half inch of Kydex that needs some eyelets, would you know off hand what size eyelets I should be using? Thank you!
The eyelets I use are about 1/8 longer than the thickness of my kydex.
I didn't use a hand setter I got a tool it works pretty well
can you tell me where you get your kydex and rivets? Can you be specific on part numbers?
Sure can, I got them from Jants supply. Kydex (KY301) Eyelets (KE512) Setter (WV8095).
@@yonderoutdoors thank you very much great vid
what about your kydex
sorry no need to reply I saw your numbers
Thought this was abom at first
nah, abom's videos are really good.
Why not use dies and a press? You could actually rig up a drill press.
Dies and a press are not cost effective, unless you're doing production work( no sense in wasting money)! I've tried a drill press....it didn't end well for the drill press...HaHa!
Dunno what it is but the pace in this is so slow it's frustrating
there are easier, saner ways.
True, but who wants to be sane!!🙃
So why does Mr. Smartguy bitch around and doesn't tell us "the trick"?
