Please keep going. We all felt that way in the beginning. It looks crazy and it’s hard to visualize them maturing but just hang in there. Locs are magical. The time will fly. I’m already 18 months and my hair has grown so much.
This was very helpful. I'm at the 6 month stage. Based on your pics, I think my hair is budding. It looks very frizzy and some strands are fat and spongey, as if it was never twisted. Is that normal? I can't imagine how it's going to form a uniform looking loc but I'm trusting the process.
Your locs are stunningly beautiful! I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It was definitely a great visual for those considering locs. It's truly a a journey.. It teaches a person a lot about themselves.
Giirrl I had someone ask me if I was OK lmao. I guess they thought I was letting myself go, but it was the complete opposite. Also had some people tell me my hair is "not kinky enough" I have 3c-4a hair. You just gotta continue to believe in your journey and see it through. Cause they'll be the same people complimenting your locs when they're mature. Everyone wants to admire the flower but none are patient enough to watch the seed grow.
@@pharaoh6977 YES I KNOW its frustrating because im young and my parents like to spout crazy things and then talk behind my back and while it has nothing to do with my hair they connect it to my hair?Lol it doesnt make sense but im not worried about them im worried about me
Your hair looks exactly like mine. I am in awe. Never seen someone with the same type of hair as mine and you are right I became tender headed after going natural aka dreads.
You are so pretty and your locs are everythaaaang hunty get into it ya'll!!😌(snap snap) for those that are thinking about it, stop thinking about it and just do iiiit! It's the best decision I made for myself, growing locs has taught me alot of patience, self love, building momentum, and just lettin' it do what it do, whatever the "it" is in life. And beautiful, what you said about the hair color change, just last week I noticed it with my hair too, I told my husband, don't you see it, the brown and red highligts he was like "look bout the same color to me" (rolling eyes) all he see right now is the Knicks!😂 my locs are sun baked yumminess ok! lol! but thats another thing I learned, you will see the beauty in yourself that others will not see, it's so important, you will need no ones validation but your own. Happy locking brothers and sisters! Love ya'll❤❤❤❤❤
This video helped me so much!!! I just locked my hair a month ago and watching your video let me know my hair wasn’t doing the wrong thing. This was super comforting
I just started my loc three days ago and I was nervous because it looks small and thin. I’m glad I saw your video and now I feel excited about my locs. Thank you.
hey thank you for this video.Thank you for the pictures and explanation,i needed this. This was really motivating . I am currently 2 weeks in my loc journey.I am really excited to go through all the stages, especially the "ugly /teenage stage for some reason lol. I came across you vid today, just found out todays your burday . Happy Birthday !!
Your day one is so similar to mine! Lord was I disappointed those first two days! But videos like yours helped me become more confident in myself and my starterlocs. I haven’t covered my locs so far not even for one day, and I just got my first retwist yesterday after a month. I’m excited for them to thicken up like yours did! It’s so hard to find videos that show both “fine” starterlocs that are ALSO parted to be larger for than pencil sized after maturation. Your locs are so beautiful. Definitely hair crush worthy.
So kind to you to show your locsing frome the star because at my start I was like "it didn't look like this other" but in fact this other what at 1year.
I like her locks because I have natural locks I've been doing my son here since he was three his boxes down his back but what I don't understand why does she have a scarf on her head so everybody that didn't have locks and was starting a locks they could continue seeing her journey other than that thank you for the video first time watching you Oops by the way I started my locks in 2008 they were all the way down my back and when my son passed in 2017 and my other son passed away in 2019 I cut all my locks off my hair and I wish that wouldn't have done that but I went through stress but now I'm regrowing my locks and yeah she's right about that wild journey other than that God bless and sorry for the long message and I will subscribe 🙂
I really enjoyed your journey and this is my 1st video showing coils to locs. Please keep sharing. it was direct and too the point and title matched the contents! It wasn’t a long video.
I loved your video!!! I just started my loc journey a couple of weeks ago and I'm already at the budding stage. I'm excited to be on this journey. Thanks for posting this video
I love your locs I love how confident you are with them ❤️ I just started my locs I’m about 1 month in and I hope to gain the confidence you have I usually keep them wrapped.
I am so glad you made this video! I have seen the loc stage guide that you shared. It did me a world of good, and set my mind at ease ,seeing actual pictures of your locs in their various stages. I started my locs in July of 2019.As of 12/29/2020 I am in the teenage stage and my hair looks so much like yours. I am happy knowing I am heading in the right direction. I am late to subscribe by your birthday. My birthday gift to you is I am a new subscriber.
This is my second set of locs this time it was started with 2 strand twist I'm now a month and 8 days it's definitely different from starting with coils my hair is very fluffy right now the back of head is still so short
I loooove your locs. This video broke it down very nicely. Good luck reaching 700... Honestly, I think u will be at 1000 subbies in no time. Great content. 🥰
Your video was a huge encouragement for me.. I started my locs the end of last month and its been a journey... I tried to start locs 3 times in the past 6 years and it was always an epic fail. I did not go to a professional hair stylist btw. This time I did and started with comb coils. With much prayer, patience, and perseverance I will get through all these different phases to have beautiful healthy locs. Good video keep them coming.. 👍🏾
Just came across this video as I’m on my 2nd loc journey and I’m so glad you did this! This was a great guide, great vid, and loved the amount of locs you have as I have about that many and want them thick also!! Great video!!
@@akvx97 oh okay thank you! I don’t know if I want to start with twists or with coils, I have fine mid high density 4c hair with delicate temples and a course crown, I want to loc my hair in a year or two and there’s so much to learn. Do you have recommendations for my starters? I don’t want interlocking and instant locs, but I’m afraid in twist my hair won’t fluff up as much, and maybe coils will come a loose to quick… Since I have fine hair I want as much fluff I can get so that my locs appear thick but I want them like smedium in size so I found sticking around the number 135 would be good and when I want bigger ones I can marry some. And I don’t want my retwist to be tight and your locs look lusciously thick so I think palm rolling will be my way of maintenance to ensure the most fluff ,
@@akvx97 and you you care for parts? Or do you just blindly palm roll without cleaning up any parts ? I love free form but my roots get tangled so quick I’m afraid that without the comb, all my locs would marry into one bunch😂
Ma am I love this video, great explanations and visuals
This was so helpful ❤
STUNNING
Good content good job now i know i have to be patient with hairs just turn to locs style 👏👏👏
Thanks
Your locs are beautiful and luscious! Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey! ❤

I need to hear this cuz I’m at my 4 month stage and I was very doubtful. Seeing this is motivating to finish my journey.

I am emerging into my 4th month and we got this girl!! When it starts budding more 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it’s gone be everything!

8 days in. How does retwisting your hair not start the process all over after my initial twist?
You dont detangle the previous twists you had in your hair, you just retqist them to refresh the roots
