Thank you Gordon! A lot has been on my mind lately, since I am writing my final thesis, starting looking for traineeship and I have been easily felt overwhelmed and stressed, I think I have been so close to drop everything and postpone all the decisions in autumn! But this video and your posts on LinkedIn really boosted me and now.. I am over-excited to start!! Thank you again :) from now on I will watch all your videos!
Would be so grateful if you can let me know your thoughts on this video!! DM me via instagram (gordonchung) if you have any question and want a prompt reply! ... also, what video do you guys want to watch next? 5 tips to ace law school or legal tech? let me know :)
Very grateful that you are actually addressing what is most essential for people like me trying to figure out the unknown world of legal practice in such a comprehensive and intelligible way! Thank you and Keep up the great work! I might as well ask you for your notes haha.
This is super helpful, thank you Gordon for making these vieos. I'm an Australian lawyer considering a career switch and I've been looking into different areas of corporate/commercial law, as well as whether to do the NY bar so as to refresh my memory of law school within a condensed period of time as I've been so out of it!
As a law student myself, I really appreciate this content. It gave me some direction and inspiration for answers in my applications. Looking forward to your next videos, especially the one on legal tech!
Very insightful! I really like how you provide broad oversight of the legal market as a whole, it allows me to put the firms I am applying to into perspective. Enjoying the series so far, keep it up, Gordon!
Thank you Josh for your kind words. This is such a lovely message to receive. I really appreciate that :) Also, let me know if you need someone to help read your application form!
Hello Gordan! I'm new to this channel and I can definitely tell you've done a ton of research for this video, really appreciate your hard work! I am currently a year 3 student trying to figure out my career path and opportunities in the UK, so having listened to you deciphering all the law firms and their respective forte was really insightful. I can never think of entering the magic circle firms, the competition to just enter an ordinary firm is already though enough as an international student, really stressed out, but thanks again for making this video!
Thank you so much! I've been finding it really difficult to distinguish firms from what they do and this gives me a real insight. Your videos and posts always help me so much!
Your LinkedIn posts and videos are always so inspiring and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing all the experience and tips with us. Happy New Year :)
I literally asked this question recently and you provided a really comprehensive response in this video. This is such good content because you present everything concisely, give examples and a direction for further research. I highly appreciate that you share your knowledge. Thank you, Gordon and Happy New Year! P.S. I think a study techniques video might be applicable in the upcoming exam period :)
Thank you for the message Milena, happy new year to you too! I will definitely consider doing a study technique video :) Also, let me know if you want to accept my offer to read your application form, can DM me later!
Thanks for the video, Gordon! I find this one really insightful on ways to distinguish law firms because I myself struggle doing it but your structured approach makes things much clearer. Your ideas for the next video are both great! I’d love to know more about law firm’s approach to legal tech, thanks :)
Thank you so much for your feedback Lee Yu, really appreciate that! I will definitely do the legal tech video as soon as possible (it's probably a very research-heavy one so I will try my best!)
Thank you Gordon! I am working on my applications now and I found this video really helpful. I also recently took my EU test with the GDL. Hope it went well for you!
Great video! Thank you so much! I would love to watch the Studying strategy video for law school! Also what would you say Ashurst's biggest strengths are?
Love the videos dont stop, starting my accelerated llb in September as a mature student, maybe you can do something as a mature student moving in law from an entrepreneurial background
Hi ! I am interested in sitting the bar exam in NY. However I completed my legal education in civil law country. Now I consider taking LLM in UK. Do you happen to know whether LLM in UK will fulfil the same requirements like the LLM in USA (to take the exam in USA) ? Could you tell me. sth about what you did to take the bar exam, how did you meet the requirements? You said you did Master degree in UK- does it mean that one year of master in UK was enough to be admitted to sit the bar exam in NY?
Hi I think an LLM alone is not enough if you don’t have a LLB degree in a common law country. But you should submit online evaluation form to the NY authority to confirm!
Monolidtreasure I do read articles and news from the Lawyers and other online resources from time to time. Do try to read around if you wanna know more about the legal industry!
Hey Gordon! Really amazing content you are making and it's incredibly helpful! Please continue it. Would you be able to read my application to a firm and provide any insight as to what you would improve? I know you said first 5 people, but I have only just come across your amazing channel. Thanks!

I would say S&M is quite famous for its M&A, corporate tax and banking litigation etc!

Great video! Thank you so much! I would love to watch the Studying strategy video for law school! Also what would you say Ashurst's biggest strengths are?
Thank you for the support Umang :) will work on that video and release soon, keep an eye on it.
Ashurst is really strong in its banking and finance!
Thank you for these videos!! I was wondering what DLA piper is known for in their strengths other than their pro bono work?
DLA also receives high rankings for commercial property (retail) and outsourcing!
@@GordonChung Thanks! Good luck for your exam :)
Thank you Lydia :)
Silly q but what is the difference between corporate and finance?
Instead of GDL, why not try the QLTS route to qualifying in England and Wales.
I secured the TC before I passed the NY bar and my firm prefers me doing the traditional TC route!
Love the videos dont stop, starting my accelerated llb in September as a mature student, maybe you can do something as a mature student moving in law from an entrepreneurial background
Thanks for your words James!! I will definitely take that into account in my future videos :)
