The Haxan Cloak's live set really left a mark on Primavera Sound. Though a short performance, his malevolent soundscapes pushed the parameters of the Bowers & Wilkins soundsystem to new realms. Pure evil majesty.

I love how everybody looks like there waiting for the drop
He has a track called “the drop” so it makes sense
i was also waiting for the drop
haxon cloak is the kind of music you listen to and think of all your life decisions. I think it's hilarious watching Boiler Room put him on to a huge crowd and see all the younger people try to dance for the cameras in a nearly pitch black room and then give up when they don't get it.I love how I feel like he's punishing them for showing up to his show.
Beautiful music. But I think we need to be careful of pushing this distinction between music for the ears and music for the dance floor.
There needn't be a distinction.
we all have our innocences
There is not any jury to decide whether the music is suitable for dancing or not. You can oscillate , headbang or dance like mad as hell with Haxan.
spot on sir, spot on
after witnessing people dancing to Ben Frost for a full live show, I came to the conclusion that people can dance pretty much to anything. You just have to take the right stuff beforehand.
The sound design is phenomenal
More of a sonic experience than something you dance to. I'm on board.
I saw him in LA and he was amazing. The venue totally matched the creepy vibes his music gives too! And there were a few times I noticed the crowd get startled when he would surprise us with a loud boom lol ^_^ I'm so happy for him since he's opening for Bjork during some or her tour! I would definitely see him live again if I ever get the chance.
mirror reflecting part two is so incredible. What a beautifully and powerfully structured song. I enjoy how the form reminds me of early trance music
I know right? I found about THC by finding out that he did the score for the second season of True Detective. I listened to his album "Excavation" and wasnt disappointed, i am only disappointed that there isnt more done by him yet, but hey we can all hope to hear more sick releases coming out from this dude in the next years. A masterpiece needs its time.
La música de este hombre es realmente increible. Toda una experiencia sonora y sensorial.
he scared all the rolling kiddies hahahaha!!! priceless the crowd is weird! or scared by the looks of it creepy cool
Derek Parker Love when they try and dance at the beginning then give up.
early synth inventors......50 years ago....imagined this work, but were not musicians....so they tolerated Emerson, Lake and Palmer...etc.........Finally.....NEWNEW Music
great insight...thank you.
I mean Subutnik, Radigue, Ciani among tonnes of others did create 'new' music with the birth of the synth also (and tangerine dream and their ilk), but I agree we are within the golden age of new music
Emerson Lake & Palmer were exceptional musicians you moron.
mirror reflecting is pure chills
t hsoj part 2 especially...imagine playing it on repeat for an entire trip lol
Having The Haxan Cloak brought by the Boiler Room to play in a club is like serving vegan plant-based meals in a buffet filled with meat eaters & sausage lovers.
It's not in a club, are you blind?
This is so awesomely dark and mind-bending! So glad someone mentioned this guy on reddit so I have some new shit to space out to
boiler room forever, those cuts are amazing
SUCH A SICK SET
I love this set but seeing the crowd so much really takes away from it, at least the up close and personal shots. I don't want to see a bro searching for his other bros in the crowd, texting and laughing.
Mathias Semmann juxtaposition
That’s why you just listen on headphones and watch your speakers dance
Great soundtrack to listen to with the blinds open and a Game of Thrones book
Damn I wish I'd been there...
Funny, when I listened to his album I felt like he was using an Octatrack :)
a master on the A4 and a distpedal...Big Bang
hans zimmer in tha club
YES
I love Bobby :)
strange to call yourself a ''cloak'' but i love this music! LOVE IT!!! listening over and over for days.
The first track of Excavation should have been the first track on this live set, it would have blown everyone's shoes off haha!! This was an amazing live set though, I recently discovered The Haxan Cloak by watching a video with Trent Reznor and holy fuck this guy is amazing!!!
The Moog video, right? You should check out Bjork's latest album, The Haxan Cloak worked there
+Álvaro Rodríguez Ortiz I have no money to buy it, and I've been trying to find it on RUclips, but nowhere to be found. Only one or to of them were, but they were amazing!!
I came here from that same video
Damien Karan Still can't find the track used in the video
I know this is a old comment but if you like trent renzor music you should check out the album he help produce for saul william
haven't heard of him that much recently
He’s doing video game music among, I imagine, other stuff. He did the music for Returnal, for example. Amazing soundtrack even without the context of the game behind it.
@@TenikoGames thanks I’ll check that out!
He did the score for Midsomar
A fucking amazing live set!
Looks and Sounds like the Alien Invision has begun.
Great dark wave! Not for dancing.
Lo mejor del Primavera....
LUUUUURV IT!
yes there is a quality of Joseph Beuys or the Big Bang
amazing, amazing set. but can someone tell me what he's using? i saw an sp404 there but what was the other box?
Elektron Octatrack
Durpedidurp When I saw these comments I thought, there's no way he's using just two pieces of gear for this. But yeah it looks like he's got the 404, octatrak and a delay pedal. Insane!
Alec Lambert Looks like 4 things actually, because he's also using a Boss twin pedal to the right of the Boss Digital Delay. Not sure what it is though. Drive Zone maybe?
DoglessEndeavor boss rc 20 looper
Joseph Akers and a DD 3-6 delay
They should have done a contact jam with this. Can't dance like it's a 4/4 groove. Need more flow. Even though it wildly progressive it has primordial quality that one can imagine natives dancing trance-like
To play this live I think it'd best to play at a little lower volume in a lounge of some type. Like an underground three story missle silo. Something spooky yo.

Does anyone know the setlist, first song is insane.
Its an extended mix of Dieu, not so sure with what it is overlapped / mixed though.
Bjork approves this message
Why does the guy say "Show some respect, seriously" at the end? Were some people being disrespectful, or was it more of a round-of-applause kind of gestures?
It's just something he says.
what piece of gear is that at 14:34 in the bottom left corner of the screen (white) with led rotary knobs ? it looks like a mixer of some kind, anyone know??
It's a filter module - Rodec/Sherman restyler.
@@harrowlax28 thanks for the reply, only took two years lol stay safe - be well!
16:06 ?
+Kryštof conkrs EXcavation Part 1
Mean.
...luv it
WAT DA SONG THAT PLAY AT END OF SET?! please
This man is possessed by a spirit... His music is too dark, it's not natural for a human being.
lol.. not really. You call that dark? :D
@@sikkemeister101 you don't? If you don't think this is dark you have a warped understanding of what the word means.
Anyone know the track name of what is playing at 36:00?
Its called The Drop. It is in the album Excavation.
do the guests just not know what they are getting into? the same happened with happa
Transportive.
setlist?
the excavation album
does he want everyone to dance or kill each other? This is music for self, not grindin n shit hehe
kill
what plays right at the end?
The Drop!
Poor guy, constantly shaking. :(
🥱
only sampler and delay?srsly?
+Deniz Tulay Elektron Analogue Four or Octatrack can't quite see, either way it's a lot more than just a sampler. Still impressively massive sound from such a minimal set up though :)
+SuperSasquatch100 Octatrack
+Deniz Tulay octarack, korg triton, microkorg, distortion pedals, possibly mother35 and other stuff = only sampler and delay....
today I learned a lot.
@@dannyhengel7645 where are you seeing a microkorg or a triton?
14:51 what is thaaaaat ???
