    This should be the standard on how boiler rooms are performed. Straight organic & raw. Its crazy how we all fall back on this set. Years later and its still music to my ears.

      I certainly do....this one and one other. I’ve sampled a lot of these but Nic Jaar and David August are on a different level imo.
      Or maybe they just align with me but both shows are tip top

      there should be no standard defined by a bunch of ppl

    • @hintarasholtorzic9033
      @hintarasholtorzic9033 Год назад +3

      @@helgeschneider2471 There is a case use for a defined standard. It is to describe what is a masterpiece of a set, for you and me. I know I know, you could argue until we drop dead but there is no point to argue one detail of a variety of circumstances over the other. Sometimes I read peoples comments how much they are enjoying the set which I myself don't like at all. I recognize the words and the emotions that leads me to leaving comments like this myself, just elsewhere, and and and I'm high. Technically and organically you can explain the good taste of a certain kind of music. I'm sure someone has or can serve this set with a perfect story of where this set takes him. I could, I think.
      Your statement, on the other hand, is interesting. After quick think I say that there should be a dynamic defined standard. Dynamic means that it's definition gets updated if and when needed.

    13:12 for one of the most disgustingly tasteful grooves I have ever heard. I cannot even comprehend the level of genius that is Nicolas Jaar. No. Seriously. I have recorded my own music, which isn't even bad, for 12 freaking years and Nicolas Jaar is in another fucking dimension. Every section of this performance is top-notch. To be able to flawlessly flow all of these pieces together live blows my mind. I screw up tiny little sections of my 3 minute songs over and over again before I get the right sound, but Nicolas Jaar over here is just hitting every part with surgical precision. These are complicated, unsual rhythms, yet he allows the lister to build a comprehension of the groove by building sections and holding onto them. Once the listener is in the same headspace of the groove, he builds tension, and drops. It's so sick. I don't know of anyone else that is capable of doing that.

    I've watched this many many times over the years and it keeps getting more impressive. After 8 years, I just now am really appreciating the fact that he isn't using headphones to preview his mixes, he's just producing a whole damn experimental house album live through the amps for everyone and God himself to hear. Fucking impressive.

    Mainstream electronic music lovers and most people will not understand how deep this is in so many layers. The parts and sounds are so brilliant and carefully picked, goddamn even the sounds sound so good. Love the slow build up, to me it could even last longer. And if you can't dance to this, you don't feel any rhythm. Play this on a good soundsystem and your roof will blow off. Musical genius. League of his own.

    Just read "boring"!!!! Oh dear!
    I am way toooooo old that I should be listening to "new" tunes but this is my passion.
    If you don't understand this I can see why such unstructured statements are made.
    So glad I found Jaar. Most days my ears are abused with "pop" at work and I crave House in all forms.
    Jaar takes the listener on a journey and I thank him for that.

    I highly recommend the audio technica mh-50 headphones he is wearing. Have them myself and they really give that studio quality while not being too flat. As far as the performance goes this is absolutely killer. His rhytm is REALLY good and I love how he implemented the boombox radio in his set.

    • @segaki
      @segaki 8 лет назад +4

      +Ben Dunlop I have the ath-m50 headphone. When I bought them I remember looking at the ath-m50x and the only difference was that the m50x has a detachable cable. The normal m50 have a non-detachable chord. Other then that they are exactly the same and great headphones for a good price.

      +Neron Deshishku No doubt that Live Music is certainly more... ... well..., let's say more alive than in a computer. But truly speaking as far as art is concerned, I've much more problems to feel the sublime Shakti in my computer with works of art such as paintings and sculptures than with any music. Music is still music even without synergy, but visual art (except computer art of course) is completely dead if you don't see the original.
