So Evo Japan is currently ongoing and we got our look at our final Season 3 Guilty Gear Strive character, Slayer! Slayer returns in his classic form and is looking pretty dang strong in his Strive incarnation with a few new tricks it looks like. Something to note about the interaction with Chaos is the forward Dandy Step goes _through_ the Chaos clone, which as you know, acts as a wall the player can't go through. So maybe forward Dandy Step could cross-up if he's close enough?
I think that's how it works in Accent Core with the S/H versions.
@@ethanhinton4549I was doing some trailer analysis and yes, in GG ACR, S dandy step goes through the opponent, while H dandy step makes you go further, if my analysis is correct he has Mappa Hunch, P Dandy Step, S Dandy Step, Pilebunker, a new dandy step follow up that's a low(I don't believe the chaos clip is 2D, he canceled the animation), It's Late seens to be a a straight follow up from Dandy Step, Blood Sucking Universe and a new dandy step follow up that makes him go to the air(Ky clip).
Overall Slayer now looks to be more similar to his ACR appearance than his previous one in XRD.

Slayer looks like a ton of fun! Two things I'm hoping to see out of him:
1. MONSTROUS Damage off of few hits, even more so with Strive's high damage philosophy.
2. That vampire grab super at the end looks like an obvious grab super, but can it grab frame 0 at point blank? Can't wait to find out!

Interesting gameplay detail: the forward Dandy Step goes through Chaos’ clone. Since we don’t see him teleport-dash, they might just have made Dandy Step his forward teleport-ish move.
Please Arcsys, call Slayer's version of the "Raging Demon" (aka Shun Goku Satsu) as "Sin Dandy Sax"

I haven't seen anyone mention the vacuum properties on the hit at 4:24. This is something Slayer hasn't had before, and it looks like a really powerful tool for his strike/throw (BSU) game. Thanks for the breakdown Rooflemonger!
I hope season 4 add a guest character from one of their other fighters like Ragna the blood edge or hyde

I went from having been down on the thought of the Slayer reveal after knowing about him from the leak since I had no intention of maining him and since I tend to prefer getting new character to immediately loving his (admittedly minimal) redesign, his voice, and his theme, which I'm now upset I have to wait to hear in full.
About Season 4, ever since she showed up in Extra Story, I've been expecting they would bring Dizzy in. Maybe she got backshuffled since Season 3 got Asuka as a spammer already? (And he was obviously always coming)
ALSO: That exploding out of his clothes to me feel like a Biscuit Oliva reference, which would be quite adequate, actually

I basically got every character I wanted out of this season. For next season to really blow it out of the water for me they have to pull out true wildcards. Characters like Order Sol, Justice, Robo-Ky, Kliff; Characters that don't make sense but due to guilty gear shenanigan's they somehow do.
I don't see anyone saying this, but I suspect that dandy step is now his dash. We don't see him teleport dash in the trailer at all, we also see he can forward dandystep. I think perhaps you can cancel backdash into forward dash for the OG dandystep and then have follow ups out of it.

i've just started playing guity gear strive but here we are, thats my main from now on
I liked the trailer and gameplay. I will say though that i hoped n still wish the bats would be utilized more in gameplay rather than just being a visual feature, reminds me of giovanna abit. I also want more unique stuff like those 'running kicks' in the air not just some regular plain punches. The supers however were pretty neat. Very solid n pretty spot on for the character.

I really hope what they showed is some form of backdash cancel and that they didn't just remove that and replaced it with just a regular special move...

What you call c.S looks like Under Pressure. We see it as a Dendy Step follow up only plus the animation and SFX are similar to that move
He does it raw in the combo into raging demon, and he does it AFTER the low follow-up to dandy step at the start, not to mention it being cancelled into a normal that is probably his far slash, which is then canceled into something that looks just like his 5h. Slayer also jump cancels it at the start of the trailer. Not to mention that he already has four other dandy step follow-ups shown in the trailer, with pilebunker, the low, It’s Late, and Helter Skelter, so unless he had a dust followup, it is almost certainly his close slash.
Although the new animation is probably somewhat based off of under pressure.
As a slayer main I can’t wait to play him for the first time

Or maybe they're gonna add another new debut playable characters like Gabriel. At this point who knows they're gonna add next. I just hope Dizzy is the next character
@@renhardhalim yuuuup, l think so too. dizzy is going to be the first DLC character in season 4, 100%. hopefully, kira buckland is going to be the ENG voice of dizzy for the first time, and that's reason why she's big fan of guilty gear since double X accent core series.
