  • The right English adjective order is the reason "warm, brown sweater" sounds correct and "brown, warm sweater" may sound strange. Or wrong.
When using more than one adjective to describe a person, place, or thing, we follow a specific adjective word order. It's called the Universal Order of Adjectives.
Native English speakers know this order intuitively. Thankfully, you can learn this adjective order and get it right every time with a little practice.
In this grammar focus lesson, you'll learn exactly what the English adjective order is and get multiple examples.
Plus, I have a FREE worksheet you can download at the Speak Confident English website.

Annemarie, could You answer by the way: how should the academic title be given correctly? Phd indicates as a degree in philosophy. Should it be Phd of Physics, Phd of Medicine for example? Maybe phd in physics or phd in medicine?
