    Hi my name is Lorena. I’m a biochemist, and I’ve been working in this company for 8 and a half years. I started working in the pharmaceutical industry when I was 25 in the area of regulatory affairs. After that, this company hired me as a microbiological analyst while I was still studying. Nowadays, I’m in charge of a big project and oversee what people are working on. I try to be helpful for all of my coworkers and I get along with everyone. I’m so happy to work here with such warm people and I’d like to continue growing here. I look forward to getting new projects.

    If we use the phrasal verb "To plan on" in this introduction context the next verb should be in present tense or +ing form? At @10:33.
    Which one of these is the right one? "We were planning on moving to Alberta" or "We were planning on move to Alberta".

    • @Speakconfidentenglish
      @Speakconfidentenglish  27 дней назад

      Hi there, thank you for the question. I apologize as I realize on screen the sentence say, "We were planning on move..." however, what I said in the video was, "We were planning on *a move* to Alberta..." We can follow 'to be planning on' with a noun (as in 'a move') or a gerund (as in 'moving'). I appreciate your question and, again, apologize for the typing error on screen.

      What a lovely introduction. It sounds like this might be used to introduce yourself to someone in a book club, perhaps. One note: the verb 'recommend' is a tricky one in English. In the question we would say, "Can you recommend a book about ancient Egypt to me?" I've got a full lesson on this topic that might help: www.speakconfidentenglish.com/recommend-vs-suggest-in-english-2/
