      I Boxed, Played Football & ran Track my whole life & I must say, I've been hurt more in Track than both Boxing & Football combined. And Track was the hardest & toughest bc it's all you against the clock. Not only that, it was tremendously draining!

    • @alphonsusho8962
      @alphonsusho8962 5 лет назад +92

      @@BreuckelensFinest Agree, track puts more pressure on your body, since your giving everything you got in a short amount of time, so you are prone to tearing muscles and stuff like that. Both sprinters and long distance however have different types of injury. Long distance has a lot of mental challenges, reason why I respect them, it takes a lot to tell your body to keep going even if it is tired or hurting

    • @BreuckelensFinest
      @BreuckelensFinest 5 лет назад +11

      @@alphonsusho8962 Yeah you're right. Well said bc when I was boxing I had to put them miles in, 3-5 miles per day & that wasn't easy when you have to spar & train with the bags. And all i did was slightly over a walk kind of a jog to open up my lungs. So I can't even imagine training for the long distance events. Word up!

    • @alphonsusho8962
      @alphonsusho8962 5 лет назад +3

      @@BreuckelensFinest Yeah, it's also those thing, you definetly know when you're actually working your body and when you're not. Although I hate doing sprints, they are a great way to burn calories quickly, I usually do 60m sprints. Doing sprints also naturally build leg muscles

    You've got to put the money in the bank so you have something to spend on meet day. In sprinting mistakes are magnified 10-fold in something like a 60 or 100. The different between champion and runner-up is tiny. Be the best on meet day. My track has snow on it today so training's done indoors on a perimeter track above the gym. Can't wait to get outdoors and spread our wings.

    I used to run uphill sprints 4 times a week, being a soccer player to keep my speed.. it helped with my acceleration and take off, top speed.. I tore my right hamstring partially while wearing Nike running shoes that have like a high heel, I guess I hyperextended during a sprint and that was it... Nothing beats feeling the rush of a foot race tho. Nothing! Lol..

      Go out and train as hard as you can, recover from it and then do it again. You'll learn as you go along what works best for you. You don't need a coach or friends to do that. Unless you're saying you're paralyzed or something. If that's the case then yeah you have no chance.

    Easily the hardest sport in the world if you are truly wanting to compete.
    Think about running 200 meters 15-16 times at a sub 24 seconds?
    And if you don’t make time you get another tacked on? Yea. You will collapse before that day is over. The point is you will never get to 15-16. But you mentally still try.
    So when meet time comes you run a 21-22

    I somewhat feel like college workouts are a tad bit easier than high school workouts because we do like 12 200s for sprinters. Idk if I’m right tho

      @jjyoutube this is completely fabricated, the world record of last year was 49.94 and the record for this year so far is 51.34, so unless you're breaking world records and your name isn't on the list yet, you're lying. Here's where i got my information : www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Division/Top.aspx?DivID=100696

    You know they're doing hills after this. And probably some weight training. Can't give all the secrets away. They didn't eat because it would be a waste. This workout is called PUUKA.
