There is still a bug with 2020 which has never been fixed, without using a VPN, which is still present in 2024. It fundamentally breaks the game now that they have moved everything to streamed content.
@@rjc0234 How does it fundamentally "break the game"? I have never heard of it and I have been using 2020 since its launch. Neither is 2024 "fundamentally broken" for me.
@@NookaNifty When you can't get a download speed of more than 1/50th of what you pay for because of Microsofts crap servers, in 2020 it was bearable. Just turn your computer on, go to bed, and teh next day maybe the world update will be downloaded. In 2024, as there is no way to download this content, or for the content to even remain preserved on your computer after a flight, you will wait 10 minutes for the game to load (with rude error messages claiming that 500mb/s internet is not fast enough) and when you do get into the game, its another 15 minutes just for the gauges on a 152 to appears. that is fundamentally broken to me. Players should not be expected to have to wait up to half an hour, per flight, because someone had some silly idea about not letting people download content. The mouse pointer for the main menu was a streamed asset. Surely that could be save locally on my computer??
The career mode is fun but honestly why does every approach have to have some spiral descent down to the runway , that never even leads to the runway if you follow their stupid boxes.
i've been simping for asobo since day 1 just because all i do is free flight. i have a beef cake rig for sure, but the jump in performance from 2020 to 2024 is crazy. i'm getting about 70fps at LAX now, and between 90-110fps 95% of the time. it's buggy, but it runs like a dream and looks amazing doing it. i think it was somewhat fairly review nuked on steam. people not recommending because the load is so long when you start the sim but i'm pretty sure 2020 was longer, both intially and when loading into a free flight. also, a lot of people mad that you don't have access to the missions from the start which would break career for people looking for that rpg-like grind. I think it will probably be added either as user or asobo created content, just like 2020.
@@EthanolEnthusiast for sure. guess it helps that i fully expected a buggy incomplete sim much like 2020's release so i never had high hopes. after seeing how well free flight has ran, i am super excited to see where we will be in 6 months time. happy simming buddy, cheers!
@@marshie1337 I'm fairly happy where it is still, haven't had anything game breaking.. yet! But like you said, I'm sure they'll flesh it out soon, should be more efficient at it now. Ta, enjoy!
Did you not ride the storm of 2020 at all ? I had faith from the start. Its been a lot smoother than 20. But you need to see beyond the smoke. 2024 has so much more potential and can realise everything that people have asked for.
Great video, but then I wouldn't expect anything else! Great in flight entertainment. Lol As for msfs 2024 It does seem a thing nowadays that games/sims are released before they are finished. I do understand that the act of just releasing can introduce bugs but it's more than that. Paying customers have become beta testers. Having said that, msfs absolutely blows me away when it's working properly. We are in a golden age of flight sim. I love it!
So, 2024 still doesn't populate the airliners with passengers? I've seen the smaller aircraft and helicopters with passengers but yeah, didn't see a single passenger in this vid ...
thanks for flying my region of familiarity - Made that approach in a 182 in the past - can be tricky certainly - An A320 ready for takeoff - would not until we reached the cross over point half way as we were hard to see flying down the side of the mountain - as I flew over the centre of the runway, he began his runway roll. As for 2024.. Personally I have refrained from buying 2024 until it is ready - I feel we (the buyers) are once again beta testers for a too early a release and given we need to pay again, I do think this sits a little uncomfortably with me. We are essentially testing global usage for an online product so they can fine tune it. While I can concede there is no other way - it would have been better strategy to lower the buy in rate for existing users as first adopters while they test out and fine tune the product. I do realize that Asobo has released a lot of free content over the past 4 years and I am certainly not ungrateful. As for the Inibuilds A321 LR - seems to have all the bells and whistles - but I have heard that many first adopters are complaining that the flight models feel too light and twitchy
I still think the scenery looks like FSX, especially on the ground. Just some minor improvements but stock is still quite unrealistic in terms of mesh and scenery
Hi! I have an i7 and a 4080, but the game runs very poorly and with a lot of lag. How do you make it run well? What graphical settings do you have? Thank you very much.
just my experience so far and maybe it’s because of all the 3rd party content, but if i want an arcade experience and walk i go 24 but if i want to sim, i still go 2020.
I can counter that; 2020 is arcade, you can literally land a C172 practically anywhere. That’s impossible in 2024, much more realistic and simulating real life.
Saludos Into the Blue Simulations, como está. Queria saber como ves el estado actual del simulador, sobre todo como ves las fisicas de vuelo? que eso es lo que nos interesa a nosotros los Simmers. Thank you.
It came out of the oven too early. Full stop. MS2020 is miles ahead in every way and even runs better. The switch to cloud streaming was a terrible idea and it’s mind-boggling to me why you would sacrifice user experience just to save space on drive. I would much rather download hundreds of gigs of data if it means the game loads and runs well.
Exactly. It makes no sense. You’re expected to have a 5,000 dollar computer but you don’t need a large hard drive 😂 It’s ludicrous because a lot of people have data caps and internet can be unstable at times. There was not a damn thing wrong with the 2020 approach to way they spread data.
I am just not buying that scenery at the moment - a big expectation for 2024 was a more immersive experience via a lot of help from improved scenery. But I just don't feel it at the moment.
I cannot believe that so many people are online flying around while I’m not even able to access the program for the last 48 hours because of server capacity threshold. Thanks for nothing Microsoft/Asobo.
Please, can you tell what is the state of Flight Models for GA aircraft? On MSFS 20, the only aircrraft I am able to decently enjoy is the A2A Comanche. I wonder if MSFS24 has improved on this topic. I will not buy it until I am convinced that 24 is not as arcadish as 2020. Thank you
@matteolosardo thanks for you feedback. I am also a professional pilot and I am very dissapointed by MSFS20 compared to DCS for example. I agree with you on the curves to be tweaked but my complaints are about the "binary" behaviour of msfs20 FM. I really hope 24 has more depth on that matter. Unfortunately I will not talk about the helicopters (I am a Chinook pilot IRL)....because MSFS is nowhere near being able to simulate helos FM. And the CH47 is not modeled properly in terms of flight controls....
Its definitely improved, some defaults still arent amazing, mostly a more fluid floaty model though, an generally feels more alive, which is better than the rubberband fm in 2020. The cessna gets smashed around by pretty light winds (may be bug), and g58 and baron dont feel much different and now have bugs. I have no desire to go back, even with the bugs and crashes, some areas are huge visual upgrades.
@@brandonchappell1535 thanks for you feedback. I like the fact that you are mentioning the "floatiness" of the FM. This is definitely what is missing in MSF2020. I am glad that you seem to feel some floatiness in 24.
@@damcopter I've had reports coming from helicopter pilots that the flight model got improvement as well, so you might want to try that! I've never flown one irl, so I'm not qualified to have an opinion, the only thing I know is that in the sim I cannot keep them straight XD
I’m less concerned about the A321 than I am about your observations about the scenery / photogrammetry etc which looks horrid in this video. TBH the scenery graphics improvement and 3D textures were I was what I was most looking forward to in the new sim. At the moment I’m still holding back as I have 2020 running beautifully at the moment?
The in-sim pushback really is magnificently shit but it keeps the people over at FSDreamTeam in the job I suppose...clearly nothing was done with it for '24 though...
Don’t understand how people are getting this sim to run smoothly. I can’t even run it with my PC unless it’s on low to medium settings. I have a RTX 3070 Ryzen 7 5700x and 32GB at 3600mhz and 24 is literally making my PC feel like a potato. I can run 2020 with all high settings and have it at the smoothest 30fps at even the most heaviest scenery and airports with vatsim traffic. I had to uninstall 2024. The worst optimization I’ve ever experienced. Hopefully they will get it better but I will not be going back to 24 anytime soon
Hi Finn, Indeed, I saw some vids where they land straight off the approach. I could be wrong, but I think that’s only applicable to the RNP (AR) Z approach though? As I mentioned during the video, I wanted to fly that approach, but it isn’t coded in the sim. The visual manoeuvre was entertaining and picturesque, at any rate. I hope that clarifies things a little. Do let me know if I’m wrong. All the best!
Can I just say it was a problem when I started and I've now had the most amazing experience the career mode has really drawn me in and congratulations on an honest review
Hi James, With respect, I can see why it might look like that but actually, that presumption is way wide of the mark. I’ve never been provided with any preview / free addons by iniBuilds; the only products that I have reviewed of theirs to date (both positively and less favourably), I have paid for with my own money. I have spent a good few years building this channel, based on a foundation of honesty and integrity (if you don’t believe me, take a look at my review of the Aerosoft A330 - which I did receive gratis, from Aerosoft). It would be nonsensical, to throw away all of that hard work, for the price of a free addon haha. As I mentioned during the intro, the motivation for this flight, was simply to address some shortcomings in my previous video and give the aircraft another look, primarily because the iniBuilds tech pilot was so polite and reasoned with his feedback. I hope that clears up any doubt / ambiguity. All the best! : )
The launch bugs will get fixed but bookmark this comment, MSFS2020 will outlive MSFS2024 because one day Microsoft will turn the servers off and there will be no way to play 2024. Given the release schedule this will probably happen in 5-10 years.
@@brandonchappell1535 it’s one f the things that baffles me… This and the fact that in 2024 more than 30 years after the first War in Zee Gulf we still do not have a “Bagdad DCA by night” screen saver but meanwhile had a karaoke version of “afterdark”’s flying toaster ride of the Valkyries theme on MacOS…

Jets only do the 'Y' approaches in NZQN
Great vid!
Thanks for the video. Is there anyway you could send you're trackir profile settings? They look real smooth and I just have the most god awful time trying to get it correct and flow smoothly.
Have you tried Fenix A320 in FS 2024? V1 rated it way better in FS 2024 than the ToliSS version in X-plane. Would be interesting to see your take on Fenix in FS 2024 as well.
Are the planes named after the heading bug setting while on stand?
People have memory holed how buggy MSFS2020 was. MSFS2024 will be fine.
Excatly
There is still a bug with 2020 which has never been fixed, without using a VPN, which is still present in 2024. It fundamentally breaks the game now that they have moved everything to streamed content.
@@rjc0234 How does it fundamentally "break the game"? I have never heard of it and I have been using 2020 since its launch. Neither is 2024 "fundamentally broken" for me.
Performance is shit.. can’t get more than 10 fps when in 2020 i was getting 60 fps
Surely that could be save locally on my computer??
how easy/hard is VR setup for this? Is Quest 2 still viable headset?
Great flight and very educational. Do you mind submitting your joystick sensitivity settings please, thanks.
The career mode is fun but honestly why does every approach have to have some spiral descent down to the runway , that never even leads to the runway if you follow their stupid boxes.
Can't here it anymore... It had / has SERVER problems... Not SIM problems...
Works perfectly fine for me since day 2. It was only on day 1 that I had issues with servers.
Still crashes an freezes a bit though. Lotsa bugs in career too. But servers do seem fixed
Still plenty of sim problems.
is the A321 defaulting it's heading select to 321 an easter egg?
Have you tried Parallel42's Flow addon? It changes the toolbar on the too I think.
Is the ATC the default ATC from FS24? in addition, does the cabin sounds come from the iniBuilds aircraft or just something you added to the video?
any chance to get a shorty on the curve settings you are using? Lovely Vid as usual. Miss your xplane content.
i've been simping for asobo since day 1 just because all i do is free flight. i have a beef cake rig for sure, but the jump in performance from 2020 to 2024 is crazy. i'm getting about 70fps at LAX now, and between 90-110fps 95% of the time. it's buggy, but it runs like a dream and looks amazing doing it. i think it was somewhat fairly review nuked on steam. people not recommending because the load is so long when you start the sim but i'm pretty sure 2020 was longer, both intially and when loading into a free flight. also, a lot of people mad that you don't have access to the missions from the start which would break career for people looking for that rpg-like grind. I think it will probably be added either as user or asobo created content, just like 2020.
I think most were looking forward to the career, as it's the only place to do certain activities. But it's a buggy mess
I love it!
A oot of stuttering on taxi and take off. Is that a result of the new streaming?
PLEASE MAKE A C-17 VIDEO IF YOU HAVE IT and if you want go to Kabq there’s usually a lot over there but if you want I’m not forcing you
So, 2024 still doesn't populate the airliners with passengers? I've seen the smaller aircraft and helicopters with passengers but yeah, didn't see a single passenger in this vid ...
Your tutorials are interesting. Could you share your joystick configuration with us? Thank you so much!
thanks for flying my region of familiarity - Made that approach in a 182 in the past - can be tricky certainly - An A320 ready for takeoff - would not until we reached the cross over point half way as we were hard to see flying down the side of the mountain - as I flew over the centre of the runway, he began his runway roll.
I just wished that FS2024 had an offline option to download the entire game if wanted.
Do you have a specific profile for trackir5? I just got one and it's not nearly as smooth. Thanks!
Thanks for the vid. Can you please share your TrackIR profile?
Would be great if you shared your headtracking hardware / config.
just my experience so far and maybe it’s because of all the 3rd party content, but if i want an arcade experience and walk i go 24 but if i want to sim, i still go 2020.
I can counter that; 2020 is arcade, you can literally land a C172 practically anywhere. That’s impossible in 2024, much more realistic and simulating real life.
@ i don’t land a 172 anywhere. so the “simulated” trees and rocks are the difference for you?
@@goalski134 It is called ground physics and it doesn’t just affect the C172…I never mentioned trees or rocks.
@ no but asobo did mention them. that aside, i’m glad you’re loving it so much. i’ve enjoyed it for a muck around bush trip.
Saludos Into the Blue Simulations, como está. Queria saber como ves el estado actual del simulador, sobre todo como ves las fisicas de vuelo? que eso es lo que nos interesa a nosotros los Simmers. Thank you.
i have encountered camera slew downwards and hotas hot working
The blurry ground textures on 2024 makes me sad.
Just remember where you came from lad! Fs2020 destroyed prepar3d, just like prepar3d destroyed FSX!
Thank you
I fly GA in real life and I'm pretty happy with the flight model honestly, I'd say its more matter of finding the right control curve in the settings
Is it fair to say that if you can fly this sim you got a good chance in the real sim ?
What is "flex"?
It is a mess in VR however....
Still too twitchy in yaw on the ground and using aileron seems to make yaw very odd. Still needs work on the f/m.
FS2024 will indeed be a stable reliable platform one day. Thanks for an enjoyable flight.
Why did you fly that loop around the valley? Irl they land straight off the rnav.
Hi Finn,
Indeed, I saw some vids where they land straight off the approach.
I just gave the video the 321st like 😊
Judging by the flight being in NZ, going to guess half the passengers were sheep?
It's not a big step up but an improvement. Thanks for the video.
Can I just say it was a problem when I started and I've now had the most amazing experience the career mode has really drawn me in and congratulations on an honest review
❤
this feels like "they told me if I gave real criticism again I would not get preview builds in the future".
Hi James,
With respect, I can see why it might look like that but actually, that presumption is way wide of the mark.
Let me stop you right here with the warm and fuzzy bullcr@p:
YOU STILL CAN’T HAVE THE COPILOT TOPLESS.
Still waiting for the mod 😂
That's not safe for flying 😂
@@brandonchappell1535 it’s one f the things that baffles me…
This and the fact that in 2024 more than 30 years after the first War in Zee Gulf we still do not have a “Bagdad DCA by night” screen saver but meanwhile had a karaoke version of “afterdark”’s flying toaster ride of the Valkyries theme on MacOS…
