The sound of the brick and the way he reacts initially suggests that he was actually in pain when it first hit him but after that first reaction the rest is most likely played up for the camera it's not to unoften that stunts are pulled like this for a movie or show so Jontron willingly doing this makes sense considering some of the things he's done in the past. Not to mention the fact you can clearly see the dirt of the brick on his shoulder, It'd be very difficult to actually make a fake brick without it getting the same loud thud as a real one so this looks like a legit thing.
