    I love seeing doll reviews that aren't aimed at little girls! The doll customization/photography scene has been growing and it's nice to see reviews that focus on what I'm using them for. I use dolls for clothing models, and posability is a must for me. Thanks for the showcase!

    It would have been nice to see these two new dolls lined up with the other four dolls to compare skin tones. Also, as for removing the heads; I use a heating pad (the type you throw in the microwave) and wrap that around the neck and nape area of the doll. Softens the head easily without fear of melting anything! I then cut, using wire cutters, the ``hooks`` from the head post, especially if I`m going to be removing the head over and over again.

    I don't understand why these dolls don't have a twist & turn waist?

    The blue top has an updated Midge sculpt. Midge was from the 90s and 00s; mostly came with freckles and red hair. The orange top has the Lea sculpt and darker skin. It was used in the Fashion Fever line and called Kayla. Cali Girl (big foot) has the Lea sculpt and the darker skin but she doesn't have blonde hair. There ARE times when a particular head sculpt is "classy" to the point that it looks better on the 100 pose Fashionista bod rather than the athletic-y MTM bod. I call those hooks, attached to the neck button, that are inside the head to keep little boys from ripping Barbie's head off easily, fish hooks. LOL that you can't be bothered taking out a scissors and cutting off the fish hooks and post. How HARD is it? Some just cut the fish hooks off and leave the stick. NO reason. I recommend holding the neck of the body when removing the head, and gently rock from side to side. It's December now and they've released some action dolls w/the MTM bods. Madame Lavinia ($85) has a curvy 100 pose type bod (not the ankles) and I can't wait for it to get into the playline (at a more reasonable price). I'd love to see a tall MTM body, as well.

    love the blonde! seeing the promo pics, I actually liked her the least but now she's my Favorite! I'm hoping the redhead dolls' skin is compatible with midge, since I want to give midge a mtm Body!

    Superman and Batman do have Made to Move type bodies. However due to their muscles, they might not fit some Ken clothes. (Note: They do have sewn on costumes.) I don't know for sure if the new Star Trek Kirk and Spock dolls are MTMs. It seems the trend is Mattel is adding more articulation to adult collector dolls. Silkstone Barbies are now made with articulation at the elbow and knee. Male dolls for Hunger Games and Divergent have articulation as well....but not Made to Move level of articulation.

    The easiest way to remove a head is to use carefully a small screwdriver .

    • @pratyashetty8476
      @pratyashetty8476 3 года назад

      Is it true

    • @paluxyl.8682
      @paluxyl.8682 3 года назад +1

      @@pratyashetty8476 I have done it over 200 times in my life , just few days ago I have done it 7 times or so because I have found at ebay some new made to move bodies .
      You just need to go with the little screwdriver (or a similar tool like a knitting needle) arround the head and neck , that just the 2 hooks hold the head like at 10:10 in the video .... after that you can pull or use the tool to go over the hooks . Normally it takes just 30 seconds to take off the head , in rare cases the 2 little hooks could be sometimes a problem if the head got too much ruber material inside .
      ATTENTION !!! ... kids should not do it , I'm an adult and even I have poke myself at least 2 times in a finger ...... if you do it , take you time and be careful .

    That dark skin with the blonde hair is the face sculpt of Kayla/Lea friend of Barbie. That face sculpt had been around since early 2000's. Look up some Kayla/Lea dolls.

    You are lucky the hook is facing south. Some of the other figure has the hook facing south, which is a nightmare. What mattel need to do now is give people optional hands.
