Funny story. I met John in Russia at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow in I think 1983. He was on a culture exchange with Jim Henson of Muppet fame. I worked at "Uncle Sam's" which was a snack bar by day and a bar & dance hall by night inside the embassy compound. I saw him standing in a darkened corner by himself drinking a cup of Koff beer (from Finland). I was 19. I casually walked up and pointed my index finger at him in a "cool" sort of way and said "Hey, how ya doin' ". I think he like the style because he did the same thing back to me and said, "I'll have to remember that.". Then stupidly and without thinking I blurted out, " Hey, where are you from?". He starred at me for a couple of seconds like he was amazed to have been asked that. Now at this point he could have said a number of things. But he chose to err on the side of politeness as he quietly responded, "Colorado". We then sat down and talked about his intrically embroidered cowboy boot. But mostly he wanted to learn all he could about the KGB (the Soviet state police force).

I am pleased to say that my nine year old has loved the muppet show since she was three. We recently watched A Muppet Family Christmas and screamed with joy until we were told how loud we were being when we saw Jim himself in that . Miss you Jim.

awesome movie! great songs! those credits: Produced by John Denver and Jim Henson, Musical Director: Ray Charles. wow! it's like the four horsemen, riders of the apocalypse hehe. is it weird of me to suddenly wish that John Denver and Ronny Dio had made an album together? hahaha sorry if that seems offensive to anyone. only way they could have made this better would have been to let John Denver actually play his guitar in the scenes as well, so it didn't look like he was faking it, which we know he should not have to fake the guitar parts because he is a great guitar player as well. it would have added to the immersion factor immensely i think. stellar performances anyhow, so touching and tender and sincere. only one sort of creepy part where he is laying in the tent next to Robbin and singing affectionately "i love your mouth" lol (Deliverance moment haha "you sure got a pretty mouth") guess they really could have amped up the charge if Ray Charles had come out and done a duet with John Denver with both of them singing and actually playing their instruments together at the end and with all the Muppets in harmony haha i'm a dreamer. i note folks saying RIP Jim and John, but don't leave out the credited "musical director" Ray Charles!! should be RIP John and Jim and Ray! bet those three would be having a delightful music jam in heaven
Remembered watching this as a kid and flash backed to my dad running over and thumping me on the head for not hearing him say turn that crap off. I still love this stuff thanks for finding it.
That's too bad. My dad bought the cassette soundtrack and we listened to it on our camping vacations out west all through my high school years (along with all the rest of JDs music). This brought back great memories 🙂.

I haven't seen this one before. It's great!😂👍 I loved that Statler and Waldorf are still there to heckle the muppets. When I was little I never understood why those old guys were there.😂 Now I love them😂❤ I love the rest of the muppets too of course!😂❤
There was a scene in which Denver and Rowlf went on plane ride. It was shown in the original broadcast. The scene was removed from the home video release in 2003, out of respect for Denver who died in a plane crash.

John Denver's music and I like the Muppets and I'm 17 and I enjoy watching them to this day and I don't care what other people say about the Muppets not other people's opinions I like them up it's an animal is my favorite
My family and I loved John Denver and his music. He is genuinely great to listen and had a heavenly listen anyone could enjoy. I also grew up with the Muppets (primarily the 2011 movie) and were very charming to my childhood and I still watch them as a teen. I grew up watching this as a kid with a dvd my parents gave me and I LOVED it. I have a soft spot for this in general and is underrated and just fun to watch for all ages if you like John Denver the Muppets or both!

Back in 1984 I bought a tape of this songs in Jakarta. I really enjoyed the songs, especially Will I Ever Catch Another Butterfly and also Home on the Range; and of course the legendary Poems. Prayers and Promises. It reminds me of my childhood, indeed. This is the movie that all kids should watch.Very educational. Thanks for uploading it.

You cannot go wrong whenever John and the Muppets teamed up. The collaboration felt so natural and believable.
