I ordered one based on your review, and it came yesterday. I love it! A few years ago I bought a tru tone copy of this Bible, but didn’t use it a lot because the ghosting and paper were not good. As you said, this new Buffalo leather edition has better paper and less ghosting, as well as the beautiful new cover. Thank you so much for your review. I love my new Christmas Bible!
Pastor I am glad I look at your review I was not going to get the leather Bible but after your review I went ahead and ordered the ESV Large Print Personal Size Bible (Buffalo Leather, Deep Brown) and got it at a good price thanks for your honest and I pray you have wonderful month in May i have not bought myself a new Bible in 20 years so I love the ESV have in a Bible App but I wanted a Bible.
After doing research I picked this bible up, and I am sure it will not disappoint. What attracted me was the personal size, 12pt font, red letters, and the thicker paper. Engraved my name onto it and picked up some sticky tabs for the different books. I can’t wait to get it and start my more in depth relationship with God
I've have been legally blind all my life and large print Bibles have been necessary. It seems to me that crossway at least with the ESV makes the least amount of large print Bibles for those of us who are visually impaired or suffer low vision. From this font right here which is a 12 the next one up is 17 lol! Maybe there's a marketing strategy I don't know understand but I have a plethora of large print bottles in my library that range from 12:13/14 and 16. most of them with cross references. Might you have any insight as to why? I would love to have one of these that's in a 13-point font with end of paragraph references.

I've probably got half a dozen or more Bibles that are large print, excuse me Giant print lol! My two mains are my CSB which is a 13 point foot with end of paragraph references and my NASB 2020 which is also a 13-point font with the cross references down in the corner. That is the absolute coolest thing I've seen is the way they do the cross references in the NASB 2020 giant print bottles. So I'm not really lacking. I have a 16-point font NASB 2020 but I'm going to send off to have rebound. It is a massive Bible and it needs some reinforcement. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question good sir! It's funny, the thing you're most excited about (no maps) is literally the only thing about it that makes me not sure I'd get it. I don't have the ancient world memorized and don't necessarily want to have to take maps along with me to bible study (I have a large Zondervan book of maps for home study). But I suppose I could always look for some pamphlet sized book of ancient maps/diagrams to toss in the bag to take with. Otherwise, this bible looks exactly like what I'd like. I don't need a "study" bible, as I have a library of such materials already. But a well constructed personal bible in the ESV would be great, since that's what my church tends to use most these days.

Since this is a deep brown, does it look more like black? Also does it have footnotes that give info like some manuscripts include this verse? Looks like a beautiful Bible. Plus I like the large print. Appreciate feedback
@@CaseyFleetMedia yeah. I can’t find it anywhere. I hope they don’t discontinue it and cancel my order! Christianbook had some in stock now that were improperly imprinted…but this is gonna be my go to Bible…so I don’t want a stamp over their messed up imprinting on my Buffalo leather…

I use the old Bibles I've been using for years because the paper used to be so much better than now. I've had several rebound to keep using them. I can write and highlight on the old stuff but this newer paper they've been using for the last few years has been like tissue almost. Crossway has been an exception. Thanks for the review. I preach and teach from the NKJV but I am warming up to the ESV.
Is the text block (paper, font, binding) the same as the older printing? I saw you gave a review of the genuine leather in 2018. If you look back at this, thanks!
@@CaseyFleetMedia a lot of people don't need them because they probably have a lot of Bibles that have them. But I don't own a lot of Bibles. And I enjoy seeing the way different publishers approach their maps. It's a shame though since the thin line version of this has maps, but the font is smaller than I would like. This is more my size of Bible and I appreciate a font that's 10 point or larger, and I like the text layout. But there's no Bible that checks every box, to suit every taste.
@@CaseyFleetMedia I ordered the burgundy, with thd Rose of Sharon, I love the Leather-soft (Nelson), and the Crosswsy Nu-Tone..but this was hard, and unattractive. I will order another one, bug in thd softer Chesnut, or mahogany. The font is awesome..snd my reason for buying the Bible.

You have a great point! What you are referring to is mostly called “Giant” print bibles. I do think they should make more offerings in those!

The 12pt. font sold me. I have glaucoma, so I really need an 11 to 14 point font. I think the 12 pt. will be perfect for me.

Is the buffalo cover floppy or more stiff? I have 2 other buffalo covered bibles and they’re pretty floppy.

Jesse Roland you sure can as long as you use the proper pens and highlighters... For pens if you use Pigma micron you will never go back.
