I recently bought this ESV Large Print Personal Size Bible in the TruTone Chestnut and I absolutely LOVE IT! The 12 point font is beautiful and the red letter is easy on the eyes. And I really love the ESV translation. Excellent size too. Personal size is my favorite. Thanks for your wonderful review. God bless! 💜✝️🙏🏻😊
Awesome looking Bible. I like how the cover has just the right strength and flop . Now just needs to be in black text would be perfect. Thank you for your review. Blessings
Thank you for the great review. Very practical. In particular, I really wanted to know how does it feel holding it in hands as that is how most of us would read a book so I wanted to know if it would be a too floppy or rigid. You answered it perfectly. Also you gave measurements, commented on ghosting ... really touching on all those aspects that truly matter in the daily use. God bless you brother.
Good video. Thanks for the information. Question: How does the buffalo leather feel and fit the hand in comparison to the genuine leather edition? The pages are Smythe sewn. Do they seem to remain "tight" when you open thw Bible? Any of the seams loose? Thanks.
It’s nice in the hand. I’d say it’s about the same amount of “rigid” as genuine leather. But it wears in nice. I haven’t had an seam issues but to be honest it’s not a daily driver.
@@ClaimingChristianity thanks for the information. I'm trying to decide on buying the Buffalo hide or the typical leather edition. It seems to be a comfortable reading text and "hand friendly" even though it's not very compact.
The CSB large print personal size comes in a 10 pt font, and is single column formatted. It's an outstanding reader. The 12 pt font size on this one is (imho) just a a tad too big, especially for a double column format. Your eyes scan back and forth so frequently that it actually makes it harder to read. If it was single column formatted I would love it. I could be in the minority opinion on this, and it could simply be that Crossway was targeting an audience with weaker/older eyes that really needs this large of a font.
I have had this bible for a couple of years now. i just recently turned it into my daily driver and the leather itself is great. i would like to find a good block and have it rebound and edge lined with this cover.
@@ClaimingChristianity Yes, Sir. I work in a boys home for criminally adjudicated youth and take it with me every day so if it will last there it should last anywhere :)
Thanks for the review. I'm curious as to the quality of the paper. Does it feel slick or more like newspaper / comic book paper? I'm interested in this but need to know if the paper is good quality.
Hey Mikel. I'm a fan of yours. I kinda "got started" with theology in the apologetics arena and was blessed enough to get to learn from some of the STR guys and Jim Wallace. Anyway...this answer isn't probably going to be great but the paper is "ok". lol. I know you reviewed the hardcover CSB Apologetics SB...and I'd say the paper is comparable. It does feel a tiny bit thicker to me but not a whole lot and the opacity is also similar. So at the end of the day...I'd say you're not quite at a "premium" level with the paper quality...but its pretty good considering. And it's line matched so readability is good. As far as thickness or "feel"...more like newspaper. Not slick in my opinion at all. And even brand new I don't have a problem turning pages. Is there a specific quality or "feel" that you're looking for? Lemme know and maybe I can help out.
I've been doing a readthrough of the ESV (second for that translation) using a Buffalo Leather THINLINE (similar dimensions for tall and wide -- only about an inch thick). The font is smaller (8 point), and it's NOT line-matched, but it's still very readable (I'm having an easier time reading this than my first ESV Bible -- a Large Print Compact, which is also 8-point). It's also red-letter (and Yes, I could see the difference in the reviewed Bible on the screen), and it's got Crossway's maps (no extra blank pages in the back, though). And after just over two months (I'm not rushing this readthrough), the buffalo leather is still looking great (the only obvious "wear and tear" so far is the gold gilding getting dull).
Yeah. I don’t put much stock in the guilting. It doesn’t last . But I kinda like when it’s all beat up. Makes me fee like it’s being used. That’s for commenting!! I know horween and goat and Buffalo and cow all wear different
“Don’t show us the box. Nobody cares.”
I audibly went “Ooohhhhhh” when you said clamshell box, so some of us do very much care! 😂
What a bueaty . Large Print is perfect for me . ESV Bible is Amazing translation . ❤️

Yeah. For me it basically is black text. Lol. But I agree. The flop does seem perfect. Thanks for the encouragement!
Awesome video. Thank you. Greetings from Durban, South Africa.
That’s far away from me. So glad you said Hi!! Soli Deo Gloria

This is a fantastic small Bible.

I like Buffalo. But that might just be because it’s different.
Hey, Steve. How do you feel about the paper now? Looking at that as a possible preaching Bible.

I can for sure see the difference between the black & red letters.
I think the font is great and looks nice.
Yeah. It’s huge. So easy in the eyes. Thanks for watching!
I've wanted a nice bible without a bunch of notes and extra stuff for a little while now.
I just bought this last week.
£27.00
It was on sale on Amazon.
Nice!! Hope you’re enjoying it

It is a nice Bible. Thanks for letting us know it holds up!

I can clearly see the red letter, seems like a good dark red letter
Thanks for commenting. Glad it comes through well.
I have the Copact size I bought Jan 2021. It holds up quite good.
I can sendt you some pics on your Facebook page, if I remember 😊
Yeah. Do it! I’d love to see what the leather looks like used a little! Thanks Johnny!
I really see the red letter stand out
Oh good. I could barely see it at all
Buffalo or Bison? 😉😃
This one says Buffalo. :)
From what i understand this is water buffalo leather not bison.
Don't show the box I don't care. 😂
