    You should set up a "real life scenario"! Put it up at shooting hight and set a target to shoot so we can see how easy it is to shoot off of as well as the versitilty. Set targets up at diffrent ranges and diffrent spots around the tree, under you beside you infornt behind etc.

    Awesome video! Im a new hunter myself and hunt public land in pa. I started rifle season last year and decided to try archery this year and started doing homework on saddle hunting since I tend to be more of a mobile hunter. I pulled the trigger on a tethrd system last night and can't wait for it to arrive. I think this is gonna be a game changer for me. Good luck this year my man and will be sure to follow. Shoot straight!

    Tip for attaching ur stick to the tree, take the end of the amsteel and put it over the stand-off then reach around the tree with the stick and grab the amsteel. Quicker then trying to throw it around the tree

    I run that same platform and I love it. It's a bit heavy, I think 5lbs, but I will take the weight to get some extra space. I have never slipped, had it loose on a tree or felt unsafe in it. One thing I would suggest with that saddle is replacing the ropes for the bridge with Amsteel. I used that saddle for a season and the ropes started to fray almost immediately, plus they are kind of bulky. It is surprisingly comfortable though, I didn't really have any pinching. Good video!

    • @Take-emTv99

      I definitely love how much room the platform has, it definitely helps create more comfort while up in the tree! The ropes I was definitely planning on changing here soon as I can already see wearing on them but that will happen on all ropes as well.

    • @Take-emTv99

      The xop bag has a built in system to help hold your sticks and platform and it works amazing. The mission platform is a huge platform and the xop bag holds it with no problems at all! • @Take-emTv99
      @Take-emTv99  Год назад +1

      The amsteel rope is incredibly strong! Most companies are switching over to using it, if not most guys are changing out their cam buckles for amsteel! i don’t see the rope failing anytime soon!

  • @Toneytwotimes
    @Toneytwotimes Год назад

    Couple questions, when you have one of your sticks on the tree do you use your linemens belt while climbing to set the second and then the platform? And once you are hooked in, no matter how you move that rope isn’t going anywhere at all? I wanna get this but I’d probably only be up 10-12ft in the air compared to 20ft. I’m all about safety

    • @Take-emTv99
      @Take-emTv99  Год назад

      Yes I use the linemen’s belt until I get my platform up, it’s more so you can lean back and be comfortable. You can also use your tree tether however that would make it just more complicated. But once you get all set up on your platform and get your tree tether on it will definitely hold you up in the tree completely. Beat way to test it and get comfortable with the saddle system and like 1 or 2 ft off the ground. You can learn to trust your gear incredibly fast and know what the tree tether will do if you fall.

    • @Toneytwotimes
      @Toneytwotimes Год назад

      @@Take-emTv99 I’ll do that. Now, how much did this all cost? Did you get it like in a package deal? If I get one of these I’ll prolly practice a bit at the park by my house. Seems more practical compared to hanging one stand up and having to use that one spot, facing one direction only

    • @Take-emTv99
      @Take-emTv99  Год назад

      @@Toneytwotimes I pieced my kit together from different companies. I would upgrade to the convert lite 2.0 saddle they are $219 on trophylines website the ropes are better quality and it’s the same price as the Hawk. The platform is also from trophyline. It’s called the mission and it is $200 and finally the sticks are from tethrd they are called the skeletors they are normally $225 and currently one sale for $190. They come in a 4 pack In my opinion they are the best beginners/ budget friendly sticks on the market. Once you seat them on the tree they bit into it extremely well. I used mine this year on pine, ash, oak and cotton wood and they also bit into the tree amazing and never kicked out on me. So everything probably cost me around $750-$850 just depending on sale and price fluctuations.

    I’ve yet to see any saddle hunt video that didn’t have clanking metal on metal and scuffing sounds and lots of movement flinging ropes or straps.
    Sure that’s not what you wanted but it’s reality. Metal clanking onto metal scares away big bucks. They usually never blow, they just turn and slip away. We must be silent and scent free. I also think that the sight of a hunter standing in a tree away from the trunk will frighten them away. In a crazy crooked tree, a saddle may be your only choice. Just my opinion. I’ve gone back to my climber as my primary and I practice shooting while seated. It’s not always possible, but that’s my preference. Good luck this season! Be safe too

      I think hunting out of a saddle has changed the industry for good. Yes they can be kinda noisy. But so can other stands, I think most people are drawn to saddles because of how light, mobile and are overall easier to set up.
