- Residents are outraged by a proposed ordinance that would limit how many cats and dogs can be kept as pets in West Mifflin. If passed, pet owners would be limited to a maximum of three dogs, and could have “no more than five cats and/or dogs combined in total over the age of 6 months.”

This is just plain stupid. How is limiting the number of animals someone can own going to stop a vicious dog attack? You can have one dangerous dog or 10 timid ones. Deal with the individual animals that are causing safety concerns, not force responsible owners to surrender their pets for no reason. I'm so glad I left PA when I turned 18. This state is just backwards.
Why not go after the irresponsible owners who don't keep their animals under control? i have 8 rescue cats who adopted me and there's NO WAY in hell i could get rid of 3 of my fur kids. They all go to the vet, have been fixed, go to the groomer--and they are all grateful they were rescued and their lives were spared.
So unfortunately you sound like a great owner but I feel like we somehow need to adress over breeding, bad breeding, and animal hoarding
When are they going to put a limit on children?
Certainly people who have children without the ability to support them and turn to the taxpayers over and over are a bigger drain on the budget than figuring out a way to allow responsible people to keep more than three dogs.
I'd move before I'd give up a single one of my dogs.
It is understandable to put regulations in place to prevent animal hoarding. However, blaming to dogs for their lack of socialization and training is senseless. That is the fault of the owner. Unless cities and counties want to start demanding all potential pet owners be certified as responsible caretakers of their pets I think this township needs to find another more logical solution.
Just "no"... Find another way to deal with "nuisances."
That proposal does not make sense!
Glad I don't live there, no way would I give up my 3 dogs and 10 cats, all inside.
I'm curious in West Mifflin how many dogs attack people in the last 5 years ??
Vote them out.
Most communities have pet limits. Nothing new.
Not to that extreme though
It may be a good thing to set limits.
But there need to be exceptions and people who have more than three dogs need a way to be able to grandfather in. Where I live people can apply for what is called a kennel license if they want more dogs is allowed.
@@Wisepati totally.
